We join you in praying for your landlord according to Luke 9:24. Jesus taught that whoever tries to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for His sake will save it. To lose your life for Him is to surrender it to Him, to submit to His lordship and trust Him fully, and that surrender is where true saving begins.
That salvation rests entirely on the grace of God through Jesus Christ alone. His very name means the Lord is salvation, for He saves His people from their sins. It is not something we can earn or achieve by our own effort. God placed salvation outside our own ability and made it depend on His grace and His work through Jesus, received by faith. When that grace is understood and received, it brings assurance and peace.
Scripture makes clear that this grace which brings salvation has appeared to all people, and that salvation is very near. It is not far away in heaven that someone must go to bring it down. It is as close as your mouth and your heart, for if you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved. With the heart we believe and with the mouth we confess unto salvation.
That is why now is the accepted time and now is the day of salvation. The Bible warns not to neglect so great a salvation, for there is no escape if we do, and no one should presume on a later opportunity. Each person is born into a spiritual conflict between good and evil, light and darkness, and we see the suffering and struggle of that conflict all around us. Yet Jesus reigns over the darkness, and His light expels it. To turn to Him now is to step from darkness into light and from conflict into peace with God.
We pray with you:
Lord Jesus, we thank You that You are salvation and that Your grace offers eternal life to all who call upon You. We ask for Your mercy on this landlord. By Your Holy Spirit, open his heart to see his need and to understand that true life is found only in surrendering to You. Grant him repentance and faith, that he would confess You as Lord and believe in Your resurrection, and so receive Your gift of salvation and not lose his life eternally. We ask that Your light would shine into any darkness affecting him and this rented apartment situation, that Your power would bring clarity, peace, and guidance according to Your will. We trust Your love and faithfulness and ask that all involved would see Your greatness and goodness. In Your name, Jesus, we pray. Amen.
