Ex boyfriend

Good and Faithful Servant
My ex-boyfriend may have prostate cancer. For certain reasons, he will not speak to me now so I do not know how he is doing and am unsure if he will ever speak to me again. Please pray that he will be okay. Pray for his salvation and freedom from false beliefs. It really hurts to be in this position where I now have no idea how his health is especially when we were friends before we dated and I had to break up with him because we are unequally yoked. This may be one of the most difficult things I have ever experienced. Thank you.

We hear the deep concern and love in your heart for your ex-boyfriend, and we join you in bringing this heavy burden before the Lord. First, we want to acknowledge the wisdom and obedience you demonstrated in ending the relationship because you were unequally yoked. Scripture is clear in 2 Corinthians 6:14, "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" Your decision, though painful, was aligned with God’s will, and we pray that brings you peace as you reflect on it.

The silence between you now must weigh heavily on your heart, especially as you fear for his health. We lift him up before the Lord, asking for His healing touch. Psalm 103:2-3 reminds us, "Praise Yahweh, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits; who forgives all your sins; who heals all your diseases." We pray that God would intervene in his life, whether through medical treatment, divine healing, or both. Father, we ask that You would surround him with Your peace and comfort, even if he does not yet know You as his Savior.

His salvation is our deepest prayer. Romans 10:13 tells us, "For, ‘Whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved.’" We ask that the Holy Spirit would soften his heart and draw him to Jesus. If he is entangled in false beliefs, we pray that God would reveal the truth to him in a way he cannot ignore. Open his eyes to the hope and redemption found only in Christ. We rebuke any lies of the enemy that may be keeping him bound, and we declare that the light of Jesus will break through the darkness in his life.

For you, dear sister, we pray for God’s comfort and strength as you navigate this season of uncertainty. It is natural to feel sorrow when someone you once cared for is facing such a trial, even when the relationship could not continue. Philippians 4:6-7 encourages us, "In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus." We ask that God would fill you with His peace, knowing that He is sovereign over every detail of this situation.

We also want to gently remind you that your role now is to pray for him and trust God with the outcome. It is not your responsibility to carry the weight of his salvation or his health, those are burdens only God can bear. Rest in the knowledge that God loves him even more than you do and that He is at work, even when you cannot see it.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this man who is facing a serious health battle. Lord, we ask for Your healing power to touch his body. If it is Your will, restore him to full health, and if not, give him the strength and grace to endure whatever lies ahead. We pray for his salvation, Father. Soften his heart to receive the truth of Your Word and the saving grace of Jesus Christ. Break any chains of false beliefs or deception that may be holding him back from You.

For our sister, Lord, we ask for Your comfort and peace. Help her to release her worries and fears into Your hands, trusting that You are in control. Remind her that her obedience in ending the relationship was pleasing to You, and that You are working all things together for good. Guard her heart from bitterness or regret, and fill her with hope as she waits on You.

We ask all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can approach You, the only name by which we can be saved. Thank You, Lord, for hearing our prayers and for Your unfailing love. Amen.

We hear how heavy this is, carrying worry for your ex-boyfriend's health while also having no way to know how he is doing. To have been friends before dating, then to make the difficult decision to step away because you were unequally yoked, and now to face this kind of uncertainty and silence, that is a lot of loss layered together, and it makes sense this feels so painful.

Not knowing can be one of the hardest parts of grief. When someone we care about is possibly facing a serious illness and we cannot check in or offer support directly, our hearts can stay on edge, going over questions with no answers. It is understandable you would feel torn between concern for him and respect for his boundary not to be in contact.

In this season we encourage you to give yourself permission to grieve both the friendship and the uncertainty, and to not walk through it alone. If you have a trusted pastor, counselor, or mature friend, consider sharing this burden with one safe person who can pray with you regularly and help you sort through the sadness as it comes and goes. And as you honor his wish for no contact, you can still entrust him to the Lord, who does know exactly where he is and what he needs.

Father, we lift this young man to You, asking for Your mercy over his health and for Your hand to bring him to know Jesus and to be free from anything false that holds him. We ask for comfort and steadiness for our sister as she grieves this distance and uncertainty, give her wisdom for each day and surround her with caring support. We trust him and her to Your care in Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

🙏Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, the way You want me to know You. So that I will trust You with my life and anyway that You move in my life. Bless me to trust You with all my heart, lean not to my own understanding, acknowledge You in all my ways, and allow You to direct my footsteps and actions. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. Let the mind that is in Christ Jesus be in me. Bless me to have and operate with a God-conscious-solution-focused-heart-mind-spirit-and-attitude. Bless me to have a God Kingdom Culture Mentality. God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul. God, all that I have asked of You, in this prayer, please do the same for the writer of the prayer, all those who love and care about me, and all those I love and care about. God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your burden has been brought before the Lord and we have joined you in prayer for this man and for your own heart in this trial.

We commend the painful and faithful decision you made to step away from a relationship that was unequally yoked. To walk in obedience when affection pulls the other way is grievous, and the added sorrow of not knowing how he fares, especially when friendship preceded affection, makes the wound deeper still. The Lord sees this grief and He is near to those who seek to honor Him at cost to themselves.

We have prayed first and chiefly for his soul, for there is no other salvation but that which is of God through Jesus Christ alone. Scripture says, Whoever believes on Him shall not be ashamed, and that to believe on Him is to trust in Him, to depend upon Him without fear as to present and eternal salvation. Salvation is not by any other name, nor by any false hope, but by looking unto Christ. We have asked that the Lord in His mercy would draw this man to look unto Jesus and be saved, that He would deliver him from every false belief and bring him into the true knowledge of Christ, in whom alone pardon is found. Oh that he might cry, He will save me, and take Christ to be his King and his Saviour.

We have also prayed for his body. Our Lord Jesus is that true tree of life whose leaves are for the healing of the nations, and even the least thing about Christ is healing. Pardon and healing are one in His hand, for when He healed the sick He said, Your sins are forgiven you. We have asked the Great Physician to lay His pardoning and healing hand upon this man according to His perfect will, to give wisdom to any physicians, and if it be prostate cancer, to grant healing and strength. Whether the Lord grants recovery or calls him through deeper waters, our chief desire is that healing of soul and body would come together through Christ.

For you, we have prayed that when your own strength fails, your strength may be to sit still while God arises and becomes your arm every morning, your salvation in the time of trouble. Though you cannot speak to him and do not know his condition, you may still look unto the Lord who knows all and rules all. He invites you to leave the whole matter in His hands in unquestioning confidence. May He guard your heart with peace, comfort you in this most difficult experience, and keep you walking in holiness and trust.

We will continue to pray that God would be glorified in both your lives, that this man would come to saving faith in Christ alone, that he would be freed from error, and that you would know the joy of resting in God's salvation, which is full of grace for the chief of sinners and secure beyond hazard to all who trust in Jesus.

Your request reveals a deep and painful sorrow and we have lifted it before the Lord with you. To love someone, to have been friends and then more, and now to be unable even to know how he is doing or to speak a word of comfort to him, is a heavy burden. The Lord sees this grief and He is near to those who are troubled in heart.

We thank God that you chose to step away from a relationship that was unequally yoked. That decision, though it has cost you dearly, was an act of obedience and love for Christ. Scripture teaches that marriage is a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, and that intimacy and life together belong within that covenant, and that our deepest unity must be in faith in Jesus Christ. To walk away from what does not honor Him is not a failure but faithfulness, even when it brings tears.

We will pray for this man as you have asked. We pray first and above all for his salvation, that God would draw him to Himself through Jesus Christ alone, who is the Captain of our salvation. We pray that God would free him from every false belief and open his eyes to the truth of the gospel, for now is the acceptable time and now is the day of salvation. We pray also for his body, that the God of mercies who delivers us would be merciful to him in this fear of cancer, and would grant healing according to His wise and loving will, and give wisdom to any doctors who care for him. Though you cannot speak to him, God can speak to his heart where no one else can reach.

We also pray for you. Your sorrow is not without purpose. God uses affliction to work patient endurance, and He comforts those who suffer so that they may know His consolation more deeply. There is a godly sorrow that works repentance and life, and there is also a loving grief we feel for others that comes from a heart that cares for their souls. Do not be ashamed of your tears. Bring them to Christ daily and ask Him to give you His peace and steadiness while you wait without answers.

Continue to entrust this man to the Lord in prayer, even from a distance, and to rest in the fellowship of believers around you. Seek the Lord in His Word, remain steadfast in purity and hope, and trust that God will use even this painful separation for your good and for His glory. We are praying that you will know His comfort and that your former boyfriend will come to know the mercy and salvation found only in Jesus.

Thank you for sharing your heart so honestly, and for allowing us to pray with you in this painful and difficult place. It hurts deeply to care for someone, to not know how he is doing, and to have no way to find out, especially when a friendship came before the dating relationship and the separation was not because you stopped caring but because you chose to obey God.

That choice to step away because you are not to be joined together with an unbeliever was right and courageous, even though it brings grief. Scripture asks what fellowship righteousness can have with unrighteousness and what communion light can have with darkness. They are like oil and water and do not mix, and one cannot pull the load together when you are yoked in different directions. Many believe their situation is the exception and think love will be enough or that the other person will change, and then find their lives tangled and wounded because they went against God's clear counsel. Your obedience may feel costly now, but God honors a heart that wants to give no offense and to walk in His way.

Your continued love and concern for him reflects the grace God has shown you. God demonstrated His love once for all at the cross. He so loved the world that He gave His only Son, and while we were yet sinners Christ died for us. He paid a tremendous price to provide salvation, laying down His life, becoming the propitiation for our sins so that we could be forgiven and brought into fellowship with Him. The grace of God that brings salvation has appeared to all, and He knows each person completely and still loves him.

We will pray for his health, and we ask God according to His will to show mercy in his body and to give wisdom to any doctors caring for him. Yet we know that the deepest need is not physical. Often in prayer we focus on the symptoms and forget the heart, but the real need is salvation. A doctor who only treats symptoms would not be helping truly, and in the same way our greatest prayer must be for his soul. Scripture says now is the accepted time, now is the day of salvation, and urges us not to receive the grace of God in vain or to put off His offer. So we will pray that he does not turn aside, but that he hears the offer of grace today, that God opens his eyes to see that salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and that he is set free from every false belief that would keep him from the truth. Jesus alone is the way, and there is no other name by which we are saved.

It is hard to release someone into God's hands when you cannot speak to him or know what is happening. Learning to turn it over to God brings peace, even when the outcome is still unseen. God is able to take what is intended for evil or what feels broken and turn it for good. All things work together for good for those who love Him, and His purposes are often worked out over a long time in ways we cannot see at first. You can trust that God sees this man, knows where he is and what he faces, and loves him more than you do. You can also trust that God sees your hurt and has a purpose for your life that He is still unfolding.

Father, we thank You for Your word and for Your wonderful grace by which we have received the gift of eternal life through Jesus Christ. We lift this man to You. Have mercy on his body and, above all, have mercy on his soul. Draw him to Yourself, reveal Your love to him through the cross, forgive his sins, and deliver him from every false belief so that he may confess Jesus as Lord and believe that You raised Him from the dead. Give him life that endures forever. And for this dear one who is grieving, bring comfort, healing, and confidence in Your goodness. Help her to rest in Your care, to keep walking in obedience, and to know Your presence day by day. In Jesus name we pray, amen.
