Ex boyfriend

Good and Faithful Servant
My ex-boyfriend may have prostate cancer. For certain reasons, he will not speak to me now so I do not know how he is doing and am unsure if he will ever speak to me again. Please pray that he will be okay. Pray for his salvation and freedom from false beliefs. It really hurts to be in this position where I now have no idea how his health is especially when we were friends before we dated and I had to break up with him because we are unequally yoked. This may be one of the most difficult things I have ever experienced. Thank you.

We hear the deep ache in your heart as you carry concern for your ex-boyfriend, especially in this season of uncertainty about his health. The pain of being cut off from someone you once shared friendship and care with is real, and we grieve with you over the brokenness of this situation. Yet we also recognize the wisdom and obedience you demonstrated in ending the romantic relationship because you were unequally yoked, this was not an easy choice, but it was the right one according to God’s design. "Do not be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what communion has light with darkness?" (2 Corinthians 6:14). Your faithfulness in this matter honors the Lord, even when the aftermath is painful.

We must also address the reality of your past relationship. Though you once shared friendship and even courtship, the physical and emotional intimacy outside of marriage was not aligned with God’s will. Fornication, sexual relations outside of the covenant of marriage, is sin, and we must bring this before the Lord in repentance, both for your own heart and for the sake of your ex-boyfriend’s spiritual condition. "Flee sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body" (1 Corinthians 6:18). We do not say this to shame you, but to invite healing and restoration in Christ, who is faithful to forgive when we confess our sins (1 John 1:9).

Now, we lift your ex-boyfriend before the throne of grace. Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, asking for Your mercy and healing upon this man who may be facing prostate cancer. Lord, we do not know the details of his condition, but You do. We ask that You would guide his doctors, grant wisdom in treatment, and bring physical restoration if it be Your will. But more than anything, we pray for his soul. You desire that none should perish but that all should come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). If he does not yet know You as Savior and Lord, we plead for his salvation. Break through any hardness of heart, false beliefs, or pride that keeps him from surrendering to Jesus. Soften his spirit to receive the truth of Your Word and the gift of eternal life found only in Christ. "For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life" (John 3:16).

We also pray for you, dear sister. The silence and separation are painful, and the not knowing weighs heavily. But we take comfort in knowing that God sees your tears and collects them in His bottle (Psalm 56:8). You have shown love and concern for this man’s well-being, both physically and spiritually, and that is a reflection of Christ’s love in you. We encourage you to release him into the Lord’s hands, trusting that God’s plans for both of you are good, even when they are not what we would choose. "Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight" (Proverbs 3:5-6).

If there is any bitterness, regret, or lingering emotional attachment, we pray that the Holy Spirit would bring healing and freedom. You are not responsible for his choices or his response to the Gospel, but you can walk in peace knowing you honored God in your decisions. "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:18). We also pray that God would guard your heart from any temptation to reach out in ways that might reopen wounds or compromise your own spiritual growth. Instead, may He fill you with His peace and surround you with godly community to support you.

Lord Jesus, we ask all these things in Your mighty name, for there is no other name by which we can approach the Father. You are the Great Physician, the Author of salvation, and the One who binds up the brokenhearted. We trust in Your sovereignty and Your love, knowing that You work all things together for good for those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Strengthen this sister in her faith, and draw her ex-boyfriend to Yourself. May Your will be done in both of their lives, for Your glory and their eternal good. Amen.

We can hear how painful this waiting without answers has been, especially when you care deeply for someone you can no longer check on. Loving someone from a distance while worrying about a serious health concern leaves a particular kind of ache, and it makes sense this feels like one of the hardest things you have walked through.

Making the choice to step away because you were not sharing the same faith took courage, and it is understandable to grieve both the friendship you had before and the loss of knowing how he is doing now. Grief does not only come with death, it comes with changed relationships and unanswered questions, and everyone carries it a little differently. There is no single right way to feel right now.

One thing that has helped many in a similar place is to give that caring a place to go without breaking a boundary he has set. You might keep a private prayer journal where you bring your concerns for his health and his walk with God to the Lord each day, and also let one trusted, mature friend or mentor know what you are carrying so you are not holding this sorrow alone.

Father, we lift this young man to You and ask for Your mercy in his health and Your drawing work in his heart that he would come to know Jesus truly. We ask You to comfort and steady our sister in this season of not knowing, to give her peace, wisdom, and supportive community around her as she grieves and trusts You. In Jesus' name, amen.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so. Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

It is a tender and painful sorrow you have laid before the Lord, to carry a burden for one who will not speak to you, and to feel the weight both of bodily sickness and of the soul's need. We very speedily care for bodily diseases, for they are too painful to let us slumber in silence, and they soon urge us to seek a physician, yet there is a deeper sickness which only one Physician can heal.

You have done well to heed the word of the Lord concerning being unequally yoked, though obedience in such a matter cuts the heart. Light can have no fellowship with darkness, and to part from a friendship that would draw the soul from Christ, however dear that friendship has been, is a right though grievous thing. The Lord sees the cost of that obedience and He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. When nothing else is left you, God remains and God appears, and when all your own strength fails you, your strength shall be to sit still while God arises and becomes your arm every morning.

We will pray with you, and we do pray, that if it be His gracious will, the Lord would lay His healing hand upon this man's body. Yet we know that bodily healing is in the hands of Him who alone can do it, and the greater mercy is the healing of the soul. The leaves of the tree of life are for the healing of the nations, and that tree is our Lord Jesus Christ and His salvation. He is able to save unto the uttermost them that come unto God by Him, seeing He ever liveth to make intercession for them. There is no other name by which we must be saved, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, who took our sicknesses and infirmities upon Himself, and drained the bitter cup that we might live.

You ask prayer for his freedom from false beliefs, and this is a most needful prayer. God is light, and with ignorance and falsehood He has no affinity, and He cannot smile on anything that is false. It would dishonor Him to suppose He will save us in any manner which would not accord with truth. We must come before Him as we are, as sinners, and plead for mercy through Jesus Christ, for it is Christ that died, yea rather that is risen again, who is even at the right hand of God. Pray that the Holy Ghost would break the heart for sin, for if the heart be broken by the Holy Ghost for sin, salvation will be its ultimate issue and heaven its result.

Though this man will not speak to you, there is One who ever hears. Never give over praying for those you love as long as there is breath in their bodies. The effectual fervent prayer of a righteous man availeth much, and God will preserve and keep those who are His. We will join you in asking the great Physician to have mercy upon him, to grant to the physicians wisdom for his body if it so please Him, but above all to open his eyes to see his need of Christ, to bring him to honest dealing with God, confessing sin and trusting alone in the blood of Calvary, which is the healing balm rather than the lancet and the knife.

And for you, dear soul who waits in this difficult place, may the Lord give you quietness of spirit. Cast your burden upon Him who cares for the little things, the trifles of believers. He knows your grief at being shut out from knowledge and from former fellowship, and He thinks it not blasphemy for you to venture near His throne. Come just as you are, and tell Him all your sorrow. All things work together for good to them that love God, to them that are the called according to His purpose, and He can make even this pain to point you more fully to Himself, the Giver of all good.

Our prayer together is this: O Lord our God, look in mercy upon this man of whom we have heard, afflicted in body and yet more needing the healing of his soul. If it be Thy will, restore him to health, but in any case have mercy upon his soul. Deliver him from every false refuge and bring him to see Jesus Christ as the only way of salvation, that he may come to God by Him and find pardon and life. And comfort Thy servant who mourns in this separation, heal her wounded heart, keep her faithful in obedience and in prayer, and let her find her strength and her salvation in Thee alone. Amen.

Thank you for sharing this burden with us. We hear how painful it is to carry concern for someone you once were close to as a friend and then dated, to now have no way to know how he is doing, and to walk through the grief of ending the relationship because you were unequally yoked. That obedience is costly, and God sees the sorrow it has brought.

We will pray with you for him and for you.

We pray that the Lord, who alone saves through Jesus Christ, would have mercy on him. We ask God to bring him to true salvation, to free him from false beliefs, and to draw him to know Christ as Lord and Savior. We also ask for mercy in his body, that if it is prostate cancer, God would grant wisdom to doctors, effectiveness to any treatment that is needed, and healing according to His will. Above all we pray for the health of his soul, for that is the true health that remains when all else passes.

Your grief is real, and it is right to bring it to God. At the same time Scripture teaches us not to grieve without hope or without measure, as if we have no comfort. The righteous in this life are not spared affliction, even when God blesses them in other ways, and affliction itself can be a place where God teaches us to trust Him more deeply. We encourage you to let your sorrow drive you to prayer rather than to despair, and to remember that true riches are not found in having our desires fulfilled here, but in needing nothing apart from Christ and being content in Him.

Your decision to end a dating relationship because you were unequally yoked was faithful to Scripture. God calls His people to pursue marriage only as a lifelong covenant of one man and one woman, with sexual intimacy and shared life belonging within that covenant, and to not be bound together with one who does not share saving faith in Christ. We do not ask God to bless or restore a relationship outside that design. Instead we honor your obedience and we pray that God will use it for good in both your lives. If he does not believe, the most loving hope you can have for him is not that you would be together again, but that he would come to Christ.

Since he has chosen not to speak with you, honor that boundary. You can love him best now by committing him to God in prayer rather than seeking contact he does not want. Entrust his health and his soul to the Lord who knows his condition fully, even when you do not.

For you, we pray that God would comfort your heart, give you peace that guards your mind in Christ, and surround you with wise believers who can walk with you through this difficult season. Keep bringing your hurt to the Lord daily, stay rooted in His Word and in fellowship with your church, and ask Him to keep your heart pure and hopeful as you wait on Him.

Father, we lift this man to You. Have mercy on him, forgive his sins through the blood of Jesus, open his eyes to the truth, and deliver him from all false beliefs. Touch his body and grant healing as You will. And comfort this sister who grieves. Give her strength to trust Your goodness, to rest in Your care, and to find her fullness in Christ. In the name of Jesus we pray, amen.
