Good and Faithful Servant
I recently broke up with my boyfriend because we are very unequally yoked. He now won't speak to me at all for numerous reasons - some of which are understandable. I really miss him so much. We were friends before this. Please pray about all this. Thank you.

We hear your heart, dear sister, and we grieve with you over the pain of this separation. The ache of missing someone who was once a close friend is deep, and we want you to know that your feelings are valid. Yet we must also speak truth in love, for the Lord calls us to walk in wisdom and obedience, even when our emotions cry out for what once was.

First, we must affirm the decision you made to end this courtship because you were unequally yoked. Scripture is clear in 2 Corinthians 6:14: "Don’t be unequally yoked with unbelievers, for what fellowship have righteousness and iniquity? Or what fellowship has light with darkness?" This was not just wise, it was obedience to God’s design. Though the pain of letting go is real, you honored the Lord by refusing to continue in a relationship that could not thrive under His blessing. For that, we praise God.

Yet we must also address the reality of what this relationship may have involved. If there was any physical intimacy outside of marriage, that was sin, whether called fornication or emotional entanglement that led to impurity. The Lord calls us to flee sexual immorality (1 Corinthians 6:18) and to guard our hearts (Proverbs 4:23). If this was part of your struggle, we must repent on your behalf and ask the Lord to cleanse and restore you. You are not defined by past mistakes, but we must bring them into the light so healing can come.

Now, as you walk through this grief, we must also examine your heart. Missing him is natural, but are you longing for him in a way that borders on idolatry? Is your peace dependent on his response, or on Christ alone? The Lord says in Jeremiah 2:13, "For my people have committed two evils: they have forsaken me, the spring of living waters, and cut them out cisterns, broken cisterns, that can hold no water." If this man, or the idea of him, has become a cistern you’re trying to drink from instead of the Living Water, we must repent and turn back to Jesus.

We also must gently challenge the idea that his silence is entirely understandable. While we don’t know his heart, Scripture calls believers to pursue reconciliation and peace (Romans 12:18). If he is a brother in Christ, there may be a path to restored friendship in time, but only if it aligns with God’s will and does not stir up old temptations. If he is not a believer, his silence may be a mercy from the Lord, protecting you from further entanglement.

Above all, we must lift you up in prayer, asking the Lord to heal your heart, renew your mind, and redirect your affections toward Him. You are not alone in this. The same God who parted the Red Sea is holding your hand through this valley.

Father God, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, the only name by which we can be saved and the only name that gives us access to Your throne. Lord, we lift up this dear sister who is walking through the pain of a broken relationship. You see her tears, You collect them in Your bottle (Psalm 56:8), and You long to comfort her. We ask that You would pour out Your peace that surpasses all understanding (Philippians 4:7) and guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus.

Lord, we confess any sin that was part of this relationship, any impurity, any idolatry, any compromise. We ask for Your forgiveness and cleansing (1 John 1:9). Wash her clean, Father, and restore to her the joy of Your salvation (Psalm 51:12). Help her to see herself as You see her: beloved, chosen, and set apart for Your purposes.

We pray against the enemy’s lies that she is unworthy of love or that she will never find a godly spouse. Your Word says that You have plans for her, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give her a future and a hope (Jeremiah 29:11). We declare that over her life today.

Lord, we ask that You would heal the wound in her heart. Where there is grief, bring Your comfort. Where there is longing, redirect it toward You. Where there is loneliness, remind her that You are nearer than a brother (Proverbs 18:24) and that You will never leave her nor forsake her (Hebrews 13:5).

If it is Your will, Father, we ask that You would restore a godly friendship with this man in time, but only if it aligns with Your purposes and does not lead her back into temptation. If it is not Your will, we pray that You would remove all desire for him from her heart and replace it with a holy longing for the spouse You have prepared for her.

Above all, Lord, we pray that she would fix her eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of her faith (Hebrews 12:2). May she run to You with every hurt, every fear, and every hope. May she find her identity, her worth, and her joy in You alone.

We ask all of this in the precious and powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. Amen.

Dear sister, we want to leave you with this encouragement: God is not finished with you. This season of pain is not the end of your story, it is a chapter that is shaping you for something greater. The Lord is using this to draw you closer to Himself, to refine your faith, and to prepare you for the spouse He has for you, if that is His will.

We urge you to immerse yourself in Scripture, to seek godly community, and to pour out your heart to the Lord in prayer. Psalm 34:18 says, "The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit." You are not abandoned. You are deeply loved by the Creator of the universe, and He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28).

If you have not already, we encourage you to surrender this man, and your future, fully to the Lord. Trust that He knows what is best for you, even when it hurts. And if you have not placed your faith in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. There is no greater hope, no greater love, and no greater purpose than what is found in Him. Romans 10:9 says, "If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved." Salvation is a free gift, but it must be received.

You are not alone in this. We stand with you in prayer, and we believe that God is moving even now to bring beauty from these ashes (Isaiah 61:3). Keep your eyes on Him, and trust that He will lead you into the future He has prepared.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

God, please forever honor this prayer over each of our lives. God Thank You. Amen, so be it by faith, and by faith, it is so
