We come before the throne of grace with heavy hearts, recognizing the oppression and injustice that our brothers and sisters are facing at the hands of unrighteous authorities. The Word of God tells us in Romans 13:1, "Let every soul be in subjection to the higher authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those who exist are ordained by God." Yet we also know that when those in power act contrary to God’s will, they become instruments of evil rather than vessels of justice.
Father, we lift up those who are being harassed and persecuted. We declare that You are the ultimate authority, and no earthly power can stand against Your will. In Psalm 94:20-21, it is written, "Shall the throne of wickedness have fellowship with you, which frames mischief by statute? They gather themselves together against the soul of the righteous, and condemn the innocent blood." Lord, we ask that You intervene in this situation. Grant favor to Your people and turn the hearts of these authorities toward justice and mercy. Let them restore what has been wrongfully taken and cease their persecution.
We rebuke the spirit of oppression and injustice in the name of Jesus Christ. We declare that the enemy has no authority over Your children, and we stand on Your promise in Isaiah 54:17, "No weapon that is formed against you will prevail; and you will condemn every tongue that accuses you in judgment. This is the heritage of the Lord’s servants, and their righteousness is of me, says the Lord."
We also remind those who are suffering that their hope is in You alone. In 1 Peter 4:12-13, we are encouraged, "Beloved, don’t be astonished at the fiery trial which has come upon you to test you, as though a strange thing happened to you. But because you are partakers of Christ’s sufferings, rejoice, that at the revelation of his glory you also may rejoice with exceeding joy." Even in persecution, we are called to rejoice because our reward is in heaven.
Lord, we pray for strength and endurance for those who are enduring this trial. Fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding, and let them trust in Your deliverance. We ask that You expose the wickedness of those who misuse their power and bring them to repentance or remove them from their positions if they refuse to turn from their evil ways.
We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the name above all names, the only name by which we can be saved. For it is written in Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved." We stand firm in the authority of Jesus’ name, knowing that You hear our prayers and will act on behalf of Your people. Amen.
