Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

We hear your desperate cry for deliverance from the darkness that has taken root in your heart, envy, bitterness, and wrath that weigh so heavily upon you. You are not alone in this struggle, and we stand with you in fervent prayer, for it is only through the power of Jesus Christ that true freedom and light can be found. The Scriptures declare, "The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it" (John 1:5). Yet we must address the root of this spiritual battle with truth and clarity, for the enemy seeks to distort even our understanding of deliverance.

First, we must rebuke the lie that physical removal of an "evil eye" is the solution. The eye itself is not the source of sin, it is the heart that harbors darkness. Jesus Himself taught, "The lamp of the body is the eye. Therefore when your eye is good, your whole body is also full of light; but when it is evil, your body is also full of darkness. Therefore see whether the light that is in you isn’t darkness" (Luke 11:34-35). The issue is not the physical organ but the condition of your soul. To suggest that blindness or illness is the answer is to misunderstand the nature of spiritual warfare. God does not call us to self-mutilation or suffering as a means of purification, that was the error of false religions in biblical times (see Mark 9:43-48, where Jesus uses hyperbole to emphasize the seriousness of sin, not literal self-harm).

Instead, we must turn to the cross, where Jesus bore the full weight of sin and darkness so that we might be set free. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). The darkness you feel is not an external curse but the fruit of a heart that has not fully surrendered to Christ. We must repent of the envy, bitterness, and wrath that have taken hold, for these are the true "evil eye" that distorts your vision of God’s goodness. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tender hearted, forgiving each other, just as God also in Christ forgave you" (Ephesians 4:31-32).

We also must address the fear that grips you. Fear is not from God, "For God didn’t give us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control" (2 Timothy 1:7). The enemy wants you to believe you are powerless, that you must rely on extreme measures to be free. But Christ has already won the victory! "He who is in you is greater than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). You do not need to pluck out your eye, you need to pluck out the sin in your heart through repentance and faith in Jesus.

Let us pray together now:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, the only name by which we can be saved and set free. Lord, we lift up our brother who is bound by darkness, envy, bitterness, and wrath that have taken root in his heart. We declare that these strongholds have no place in his life, for he was created to walk in the light of Your love and truth.

Father, we ask You to break the power of these sins in his life. Give him the strength to renounce every thought and emotion that does not align with Your Word. Fill him with Your Holy Spirit, that he may be transformed from the inside out. "Create in me a clean heart, O God, and renew a right spirit within me" (Psalm 51:10). Let Your light shine so brightly in him that the darkness has no choice but to flee.

Lord, we rebuke the spirit of fear that has kept him in bondage. Remind him that You have not given him a spirit of fear but of power, love, and self-control. Strengthen his faith to trust in Your deliverance, not in his own efforts or extreme measures. Help him to see himself as You see him, a beloved child, redeemed by the blood of Jesus, called to walk in freedom.

Father, we also pray for healing in his heart. Where there has been hurt, bring Your comfort. Where there has been unforgiveness, soften his heart to extend grace as You have extended grace to him. Teach him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ (2 Corinthians 10:5) and to guard his heart above all else, for from it flow the springs of life (Proverbs 4:23).

Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against him will prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We break every chain of darkness in the name of Jesus and command every spirit of envy, bitterness, and wrath to leave him now. Fill him with Your peace, joy, and righteousness. Let him walk in the fullness of Your light, reflecting Your glory to the world.

We thank You, Father, that You are faithful to complete the work You have begun in him (Philippians 1:6). May he grow in his relationship with You, seeking Your face daily and finding his strength in Your Word. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

Brother, we encourage you to take these steps in your journey toward freedom:

1. Repentance: Confess the sins of envy, bitterness, and wrath to God. Ask Him to cleanse your heart and renew your mind. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9).

2. Renew Your Mind: Fill your mind with Scripture. Meditate on verses that speak of God’s love, forgiveness, and power over darkness. "Your word is a lamp to my feet, and a light for my path" (Psalm 119:105). Consider memorizing Ephesians 4:31-32 or Romans 12:2 to replace the lies of the enemy with God’s truth.

3. Forgiveness: If there are people you have harbored bitterness or unforgiveness toward, ask God to help you forgive them. This does not mean what they did was right, but it releases you from the prison of bitterness. "Bear with one another, and forgive each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do" (Colossians 3:13).

4. Community: Surround yourself with godly believers who can encourage you, pray for you, and hold you accountable. "Let us consider how to provoke one another to love and good works, not forsaking our own assembling together, as the custom of some is, but exhorting one another; and so much the more, as you see the Day approaching" (Hebrews 10:24-25).

5. Prayer and Fasting: Consider setting aside time to fast and pray, seeking God’s face for deeper deliverance and breakthrough. "But this kind doesn’t go out except by prayer and fasting" (Matthew 17:21).

6. Worship: Spend time in worship, focusing on God’s goodness and sovereignty. Worship shifts our focus from our struggles to God’s greatness and invites His presence to fill us. "God is spirit, and those who worship him must worship in spirit and truth" (John 4:24).

7. Seek Godly Counsel: If these struggles persist, seek counsel from a pastor or trusted Christian counselor who can help you walk through this process with biblical wisdom.

Remember, brother, that your battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of darkness (Ephesians 6:12). The weapons of our warfare are not physical but spiritual, prayer, the Word of God, and the name of Jesus. You do not need to fear, for "greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). The same power that raised Christ from the dead lives in you (Romans 8:11). Walk in that truth, and let the light of Christ shine through you.

We hear how much you long to be filled with light and to follow Jesus without this heavy darkness of envy, bitterness, and wrath. That desire itself is a gift, and we are standing with you in it.

We want to gently remind you, though, that our Lord’s words about plucking out an eye were never a command to harm the body He lovingly made. They are a vivid, urgent way of showing us how seriously we must deal with sin in our hearts, not our physical organs. The darkness you’re feeling isn’t lodged in a literal eye that needs removing; it flows from the inner places where hurt has taken root, and Jesus longs to heal that with His mercy, not by wounding you further. Please don’t harm yourself or hope for an illness to do it. You are precious to God, your body included.

When thoughts become this intense and fixed, it can sometimes signal that our mind is carrying a heavier weight than we can bear alone. We’d encourage you to share these specific thoughts with a trusted pastor or a Christian counselor, and also to see a doctor. Sometimes conditions like obsessive thinking can twist spiritual longings into frightening impulses, and a professional can help you find relief and clarity.

We are praying for the real deliverance you need: that Jesus, the true Light, would flood your heart and loosen the grip of envy, bitterness, and wrath. May He give you the courage to forgive where resentment has built a home, and to turn from what feeds those feelings. You are not trapped in this.

Lord Jesus, this dear person cries out to be free. Quiet their fear. Guard them from any act of harm. Shine Your light into the hidden chambers of their heart and drive out every shadow of bitterness and rage. Replace envy with gratitude, wrath with peace. Give wisdom to those who will walk with them, and bring healing that runs deep. In Your strong name, amen.

You speak of a physical member as the seat of your malady, and you beg for its removal or blinding as though that would cleanse the inner man. But the darkness, the envy, the bitterness, the wrath you describe, these do not originate in the fleshly orb of the body. Our Lord Himself taught, "The light of the body is the eye: therefore when thine eye is single, thy whole body also is full of light; but when thine eye is evil, thy body also is full of darkness." That evil eye is not a sphere of tissue and nerve; it is the eye of the understanding, the gaze of the heart, the moral and spiritual perception of the soul. If that inner eye is turned from Christ, it is indeed full of darkness, and all the darkness you feel is the sure consequence. To pluck out the bodily eye would leave you in midnight gloom with the same envious, bitter heart beating within. The disease is not in the flesh; it is in the soul’s sight.

You are right to tremble at that darkness. A clearer knowledge of the evil of sin is a rare and lasting lesson, and it seems the Lord is teaching you what a sour apple sin is. That bitterness and wrath you feel, these are the very fruits of the carnal heart. Yet mark this: a true sight of the Cross makes us full of bitterness, not chiefly at our own misery, but on account of the awful guilt of sin and the Divine wrath which it provokes. Have you had a true sight of the Crucified One? There must be life in an eye that can see Christ. The bitterness of dread and the fear of never being forgiven can become a holy bitterness, the mourning for Him as for an only Son, if the Spirit leads you to look away from your own darkness and fix your gaze upon Jesus. There, and only there, is deliverance.

Do you cry out that you are too afraid, that you cannot do it yourself? This is the very place where grace meets you. The sinner who knows he can do nothing, who feels that if ever he rises from his despondency it must be of free grace only, that sinner is near the kingdom. You speak of wanting the eye removed through some means outside your own hand. But I hear a better plea beneath your fear: a longing to be delivered from the power of darkness. That deliverance is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. It is not attained by wounding the body, but by God showing us light. As it is written, "God is the Lord, which hath shewed us light." It may be very dark, so dark you cannot see your hand, much less the hand of God. You are frozen with fear. But He can remove the midnight gloom in a moment. This He does not by striking the physical eye blind, but by healing the inner sight to behold Christ as the ransom. "I have found a ransom," saith the Lord. Deliverance from the pit comes through that ransom, not through a self-mutilation which would only add bodily pain to spiritual sorrow.

Let this be your cry: "Lord, show me light. Give me the single eye that looks only to Jesus crucified. Turn my dark gaze from myself, from my envy, from my bitterness, and fix it upon Him who was made sin for me." When that single eye is given, your whole body shall be full of light. You will not need to dread the archers of doubt or the arrows of despair; the Lord will bring you forth into joyful security. Pain of body may indeed come, and God sometimes wraps up great mercy in it, but do not seek it. Seek rather the deliverance that comes when the Lamb is slain for you in your experience. The evil eye is not plucked out; it is washed, healed, and made single by the sight of a bleeding Savior. Look unto Him, and the darkness shall flee, not because some illness has befallen your flesh, but because the Sun of Righteousness has arisen with healing in His wings.

You are afraid, and I do not take your fear lightly. But the darkness you describe is not in the eye of your flesh, and removing that eye will not make you full of light. When Scripture speaks of an evil eye, it does not mean the organ of sight. The eye itself cannot be evil. It is the function of the eye to behold; to behold with envy belongs to a mind depraved within. Christ uses the term evil eye for jealousy and envy. Envy, bitterness, and wrath are passions of the soul. A blind man can still envy. A man with two sound eyes can have a pure heart. Therefore I cannot pray that the Lord would strike your eye blind or send an illness to remove it, and I urge you not to seek that. It is not from God. The body is not your enemy. The blessed apostle teaches that the members need one another, and that to dig out one's own eye is a proof of senselessness.

What must be plucked out is the envy itself. Nothing is worse than envy. It destroys the one who harbors it. The eye of the envious wastes away in grief, and he lives in a continual death. You are feeling that death now. The remedy is not to harm the flesh but to turn the eye of the soul. Stop fixing it on the smoke and dust of human things, on the wealth, honor, and good fortune of others. Set it on things heavenly and high, on righteousness, contentment, and the mercy of Christ. Then envy will starve, and the soul will be filled with light. The sacrifice God accepts is a broken and contrite heart, not a blind eye.

Pray this way, and I will join you: Lord Jesus, this soul is darkened by envy and wrath. Pluck out the evil eye of jealousy from within. Give a new heart and a clean spirit. Let the eye of the soul behold you alone and be full of light. Amen.

Then go and confess this sin, give alms, fast, and keep your gaze from whatever stirs up jealousy within you. Do not fear to keep both fleshly eyes. Fear only the evil eye of envy. That is the eye which must be plucked out, and Christ is able to do it.

What you are describing is real darkness, but it is not a physical eye that has power over you. Scripture never treats an evil eye as a spell or hex. An evil eye is a heart and mind set toward evil. Jesus said that if your eye is evil, your whole body is full of darkness. That darkness comes from what you desire and dwell on, not from the eyeball itself. Envy, bitterness, and wrath are rottenness in the bones, not the result of a curse placed on one bodily part.

That is why I cannot join you in praying for blindness or an illness to remove your eye. Jesus did not command self-harm. When he said to pluck out the right eye, he was showing how seriously we must deal with sin. If a man plucked out one eye, he would still have the other, and he would still have the same heart. The real issue is not the eye but the sin working through it. Jesus wants you to hate the sin that much, not to destroy the body God made.

The beginning of wisdom is the fear of the Lord, and the fear of the Lord is to hate evil. So turn your urgency away from your physical eye and toward the envy, bitterness, and wrath themselves. Those are what must be put away. Pray that God will give you a sound heart. Pray that he will replace an evil eye with a bountiful eye, the kind of eye that looks on others with generosity instead of envy. Ask him to teach you to fear him and depart from evil, because the one who departs from evil finds health and strength, while envy rots the bones.

You are not under a curse that must be removed by sickness. You are a sinner who, like all of us, needs repentance and the cleansing of Christ. Do not be afraid to confess these things plainly and to ask him to cut them out of you. That is the real plucking out. It may be painful, but it leads to life. I will pray that the Lord gives you a heart that hates evil, eyes that are full of light, and the grace to walk away from bitterness and envy into fellowship with him.
