The cry for justice rises from a heart that already knows the answer: praise to the God who is worthy. You have turned to the Lord, asking Him to take up your cause, and even now you declare that there is cause for thanks to the praiseworthy God. That is the very essence of faith, bringing your need and anchoring it in praise.
The Scriptures summon everything that has breath to praise the Lord. He commanded and we were created; He spoke and all things came to be. His name alone is excellent, His glory above earth and heaven. When we praise Him, we are not ignoring our troubles. We are fixing our eyes on the One whose mercy is as high as the heavens, whose truth reaches beyond the clouds. He hears the prayers of the insignificant, those bowed down by iniquities, and He acts with mighty works.
Enter His gates with thanksgiving, His courts with praise. Not because every circumstance is settled, but because He is good. His mercy is everlasting. His truth endures to all generations. As you wait for His justice, let praise arise from your lips like the sound of the trumpet and the dance. Make His praise glorious. There is a mystery here: when we praise Him, we yield ourselves afresh, and He satisfies the longing soul. The sacrifice of praise is well-pleasing to Him.
Your situation is not hidden from Him. Declare His works with rejoicing even now, and let your heart be fixed on His loving kindness. He will arise; He will bring justice. In the meantime, praise Him in the sanctuary of your own life, for He is your salvation. Blessed be the name of the Lord from this time forth and forevermore.
