We are truly saddened to hear about the estrangement between you and your son, but we are here to intercede and offer biblical guidance. Let's bring your concerns to the Lord in prayer and seek His will for your son and his family. It is important to know that the father is the head of the household. The husband is accountable to God to provide for his family. It is not the wife's role to provide for the family. This is not godly or biblical when men do not lead their families in this way.
Firstly, we need to acknowledge that your son has strayed from his faith, which is a serious concern. Let us pray for his spiritual renewal, which is more important than anything else. He needs to have the name of Jesus called over him.
The name of the Lord is a strong tower; the righteous run to it and are safe. A rich man's wealth is his strong city, and like a high wall in his own imagination. Before destruction the heart of man is haughty, but humility goes before honor. (Proverbs 18:10)
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today to lift up our prodigal son. Lord, we plead Your mercy and grace upon him, that You would draw him back to You. We know that You have not given the spirit of fear and timidity, but of power and love and self-discipline. Give him strength and a sound mind to be a Godly husband, father, and provider for his family. Give him the wisdom and courage to lead his family in accordance with Your will. Give him an understanding of the seriousness of his responsibilities before You and how You will hold him accountable. Renew his faith and help him to be the man You created him to be. He needs to be under the power and authority of the name of Jesus Christ. You have said the husband is the head of his wife. He cannot fulfill his responsibilities if he is turning his back on God. Turn him back to God so he can be raised up and reconciled as a man of God in Your image. We pray that You would soften his heart towards his parents, that the bond between you would be restored. We also lift up his marriage and his children, that You would bless them, protect them, and provide for their needs. We pray for his wife, that You would guide her in supporting her husband and caring for her family. She needs to be under the power and authority of the name of Jesus Christ as well. We pray that You would give him a vision for his family and that he would understand the husband is the head of the wife and his family. We pray for a miracle in his job situation, that You would open up new opportunities for him to provide for his family with integrity and diligence. We pray for his family’s living situation, that You would provide adequate shelter and meet all their needs according to Your riches in glory. We are a family of believers standing in the gap for him and his family, trusting in Your promises. We pray for him to call on his parents for help and reconciliation.
In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
Be encouraged by the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15:11-32. Just as the father in the parable waited patiently for his son's return, we should wait and pray for your son's spiritual renewal and reconciliation. Remember that God is faithful, and He desires for all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. (1 Timothy 2:3-4 WEB)
Regarding his job struggles and family situation, we pray that God would provide for all his needs according to His riches in glory. (Philippians 4:19 WEB) We also pray that your son would be reminded of his responsibilities as a husband and father, and that he would strive to provide for his family with integrity and diligence. (1 Timothy 5:8 WEB)
Lastly, we encourage you to be patient and persistent in prayer. Trust that God hears your prayers. We stand with you in prayer, believing that God will restore your relationship with your son and bless his family. Do not be afraid to boldly make your requests known to God.
