Thank you for letting us know about this need and for bringing it to prayer. We are joining you in praying for this man in the hospital, and for those caring for him, as frequent seizures can be frightening and dangerous and it is right to seek the Lord urgently on his behalf.

It may help to remember that epilepsy is a disorder of the brain and the body. It is not a sign of demonic activity or a spiritual failure, and it should not carry a stigma. Like other physical conditions it is part of the brokenness of our bodies in a fallen world, and it deserves compassionate medical care and steady prayer.

We believe God does heal, and He heals in many ways. Sometimes healing is immediate, sometimes it is gradual and works through a process over time. The natural processes of healing that God has built into our bodies are themselves from Him, so medical wisdom, treatment in the hospital, and the care of doctors and nurses can be part of His gracious provision. We are praying that God will guide the medical team with wisdom, protect this man from further harm, bring stability and fewer seizures, and restore strength. We also pray for peace for him and for his family while he is in the hospital.

There is much about healing we do not fully understand, and we do not know why some are healed quickly and others are not. Scripture shows that even the apostle Paul prayed repeatedly about his own affliction and learned to trust God's sovereign will. At the same time the Bible gives us confidence to ask. Isaiah foretold that the Messiah would bear our infirmities, and Matthew tells us that Jesus fulfilled that word when He healed sickness and disease among the people. Jesus has authority in the physical realm and in the spiritual realm, and He went about healing every kind of sickness. That does not mean we presume to dictate what God must do, but it does mean we can come to Him with sincere faith, without frenzy or show, simply trusting that He is able and that He hears.

Prayer is not a formula and there is no single pattern God is bound to. At times Jesus healed with a touch, at times with a word from a distance, at times gradually. What matters is a quiet, active trust that releases our faith to Him, not a worked up emotion. We can bring this man to Jesus just as people brought their loved ones to Him, and leave the outcome in His loving hands, believing that whether the healing is immediate, gradual through medical means, or a deeper work of peace and comfort in the heart, God is at work for good.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we bring this man before You. You know his body, his brain, and every seizure he has suffered. We ask for Your mercy and Your healing touch upon him. Calm the abnormal activity in his brain, protect him from injury, and let the frequency of these episodes lessen. Give wisdom to the doctors and nurses treating him, and give peace to him and to those who love him. We trust Your power and Your compassion, and we ask that Your will be done in his life, for Your glory. Strengthen his faith and ours as we wait on You. Amen.

We will continue to remember him in prayer and we encourage you to keep bringing him to the Lord with confidence that God hears and cares.
