Beloved of All
Your heart to keep praying and to look to Jesus as your High Priest is good and biblical, and I am glad to stand with you in prayer as Paul urges in Ephesians 6:18 to keep praying at all times in the Spirit.
I want to gently help you see what Scripture teaches about the righteousness you mentioned, because that is the very ground of our vindication before God.
The Bible shows that there are two kinds of righteousness. One is a righteousness we try to establish ourselves by our own works, by keeping rules and trying to be good enough. The other is the righteousness that God Himself provides. Scripture says that Israel sought righteousness by the law and did not attain it, while the Gentiles who did not pursue it by the law attained righteousness, even the righteousness which is by faith. The reason is that many were ignorant of God's righteousness and went about to establish their own, and did not submit to the righteousness of God. Christ is the end of the law for righteousness to everyone who believes.
This matters for your prayer for vindication according to righteousness. Our vindication before God does not come from our own goodness or from demanding that God must act because of our zeal or our suffering. Isaiah says our own righteousness is as filthy rags before Him, and Jesus said that unless our righteousness exceeds that of the scribes and Pharisees we cannot enter the kingdom. That better righteousness is not our own. It is the righteousness of Christ Himself, which God imputes to us when we trust in Jesus. As with Abraham, who believed God and it was counted to him for righteousness, God counts our faith for righteousness. He sees us in Christ and accounts us righteous because of Jesus, not because of our works. Paul put it this way, that he wanted to be found in Christ, not having his own righteousness which is of the law, but the righteousness which is through faith in Christ.
When you ask the Lord to vindicate you according to His righteousness, you are on solid ground when you ask as one who is clothed in Christ's righteousness by faith. God does vindicate and He does redeem what sin, death and the enemy have stolen, and Scripture often connects righteousness with life and deliverance from death. The greatest theft of the enemy is life itself, and God gives back life, eternal life, forgiveness, peace with Him, and a sure hope through Jesus. That restoration is complete in Christ, and you are complete in Him through faith.
At the same time, faith that rests in God's imputed righteousness also submits to His wisdom and timing rather than demanding that He must repay everything now on our terms. Self righteousness tends to demand and to judge, but faith trusts that God is just and merciful and that He will judge righteously and make all things right in His way and time. The call to keep praying is not a call to compel God by persistence, but to keep bringing your heart to the One who has already provided acceptance through Jesus and who hears you because you are in Him.
So I pray with you in this way. Father, thank You for the righteousness You have provided through Jesus Christ for all who believe. Thank You that because of faith in Jesus we are accounted righteous before You, not by our works but by Your grace. I ask that You would deepen faith and assurance in this heart that looks to You, that there would be clear trust in Jesus alone for standing before You, and submission to Your righteousness rather than striving to establish our own. Bring peace, perseverance in prayer, and confidence in Your vindication and redemption. Heal what sin and death have broken, restore what has been lost according to Your perfect will, and above all guard this life in the life You give through Christ. Help in daily walking to seek the path of righteousness and peace that comes from being in Jesus. In Jesus name, Amen.
