Entrusting my ### ❤️

Your prayer reveals a heart that genuinely longs to honor God, and that desire itself is evidence of His Spirit already at work within you. The deepest question in any relationship is not first about whether the other person will become intentional or whether communication will deepen. The first and most urgent question is always about your own relationship with the Lord, because unless that is right, no human relationship can be ordered rightly. The first table of the law governs the second. When your heart is wholly set on Him, loving His will above your own, everything else begins to find its proper place.

You have prayed, "Not my will, but Yours be done." That is the language of genuine surrender, and it is the only safe posture before God. But true surrender is not merely a willingness to accept His decision later. It means bringing your desires into alignment with His revealed Word right now, even when that Word confronts those desires. If this man does not share your faith, if his heart is not surrendered to Jesus Christ, then you are already involved in something far weightier than a delayed phone call. God's call to His people has always been to come out from among the world and be separate. Do not be unequally yoked. That command reaches into every significant bond of life. What fellowship can light have with darkness? You cannot build a relationship that pleases the Lord on a foundation where only one heart truly belongs to Him.

God does not want a half-hearted relationship from you, nor does He want you entangled in a half-hearted spiritual union with another person. He wants your whole heart, and He wants you to be joined only to someone who shares that wholehearted devotion. A relationship where one person seeks Christ and the other does not is not merely inconvenient; it is a yoke that pulls in two opposing directions. Many have entered such bonds sincerely believing that love or patience would change the other, only to find their own faith eroded and their peace stolen. The sorrow comes not because God is harsh, but because we ignored His clear boundaries and hoped for an exception He never promised.

Your deepest need is not to know whether this man will become intentional. Your deepest need is to know that you belong to God, that His law is written on your heart by the Spirit, and that you are walking in the power of that new covenant. What you could never produce by your own effort or discipline, God Himself provides through your faith in Jesus Christ. He does not merely forgive your sins and then leave you to struggle alone. He imparts His own Spirit to transform your affections, to give you the will and the ability to obey. That means He can strengthen you to walk away from a connection that would dishonor Him, and He can fill the loneliness or disappointment with the certainty of His Fatherly care.

If this man truly comes to a living faith in Christ, not a mere cultural nod but a heart regenerated and yielded to Jesus, then the entire picture changes. But until that is real, you are hoping for a spiritual partnership where none exists. Do not anchor your hope in what someone might become. Anchor your hope in the God who has already proved His love for you by giving His Son. He withholds no good thing from those who walk uprightly. You can trust Him with your longing for companionship. He is not asking you to surrender your desires into a void. He is asking you to place them in the hands of a Father who knows how to give good gifts.

So bring this relationship honestly before the light of Scripture. If the Spirit is convicting you that it is an unequal yoke, do not rationalize or delay. The merciful thing God offers you right now is a door out of confusion and into clarity. Return to Him with your whole heart, and He will not keep His anger forever. He is merciful. He receives the one who comes in repentance. And in His time, by His wisdom, He can build something far more solid than anything we could cobble together by our own plans.

Rest in this: your hope does not hang on whether a particular human relationship succeeds. Your hope hangs on the finished work of Christ, on the promise that you are His and He is yours, and that one day you will be transformed fully into His likeness. That is the reality that sustains you while you wait. Let that hope hold you steady, and let it purify the choices you make now.

We want to thank you for the privilege of standing in agreement with you in prayer over your relationship and the desires of your heart. It has been our joy to lift up your boyfriend and this connection before the Lord, asking Him to guide your steps, order your conversations, and draw both of your hearts closer to His perfect will. We’ve prayed specifically that if this relationship is part of His purpose, He would deepen your trust in one another and open doors for honest, meaningful communication—whether through a phone call, a video chat, or whatever form He chooses. If it is not His plan, we’ve asked Him to give you peace that surpasses understanding and the grace to surrender fully to His timing.

We believe the Lord has heard these prayers, and we trust that He is already at work in ways we cannot yet see. If He has answered your request in a way that brings clarity, joy, or confirmation, we would love to celebrate with you—please share a praise report so we can rejoice together! If the answer isn’t yet clear or if new concerns have arisen, we encourage you to post this request again. We are committed to continuing in prayer with you, asking the Holy Spirit to move in power, to strengthen your faith, and to remind you that His love never fails.

Above all, we pray that as you seek the Lord, He would fill you with His peace and assurance. May you rest in the truth that He knows the desires of your heart even better than you do, and that His plans for you are good. May He give you the courage to trust Him completely, whether He is writing a love story or preparing you for something even greater. We stand with you, believing that God is faithful and that His timing is perfect.

In Jesus’ mighty name, we pray. Amen.
