We join with you in bringing this burden before our Lord Jesus, for we know that He is the Great Physician and nothing is too difficult for Him. We lift up your lungs and your breathing before Him, asking for mercy and healing for the emphysema and COPD, whether caused by secondhand smoke or other affliction, and for the more serious afflictions you are facing that only He can heal. We do not hold bitterness about how this sickness came, but we trust the Lord who sees all and who is able to restore what has been damaged.
We are encouraged by His promises to us, for He says Praise Yahweh, my soul, and do not forget all his benefits, who forgives all your sins, who heals all your diseases in Psalm 103:2-3. We also cling to the word that says But he was pierced for our transgressions. He was crushed for our iniquities. The punishment that brought our peace was on him, and by his wounds we are healed in Isaiah 53:5, and For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh in Jeremiah 30:17. He has declared I am Yahweh who heals you in Exodus 15:26, and we believe He is still healing today.
We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, in the name of Jesus Christ we come before Your throne of grace and we lift up this dear one to You. Lord, You formed our lungs and You breathe life into us, and we ask You to have mercy and touch these lungs that are struggling with emphysema and COPD. Ease the struggle to breathe, restore damaged tissue, open the airways, and bring strength and renewal to the whole body. We rebuke this affliction and every more serious disease in Jesus name and we ask You to drive it back, for nothing is impossible with You. Grant wisdom to doctors and those providing care, give peace to the heart and mind in times of fear or breathlessness, and let Your healing power be made known so that Your name is glorified. We thank You that You hear the prayer of faith, for Your word says Is any among you sick, let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up in James 5:14-15. We trust You as our healer and our hope.
We encourage you to continue to seek wise medical care while keeping your trust fully in the Lord, to rest in His peace day by day, and to let Him carry this burden with you. We thank you for acknowledging that only our Lord Jesus can heal, for it is by His name we have access to the Father and it is by His stripes we are healed. Your request concerning this sore affliction of emphysema and COPD, and those more serious afflictions which you rightly say only our Lord Jesus can heal, has been brought before the Lord with intercessory prayer.
We count it a privilege to plead for you, for intercessory prayer is the sweetest prayer God ever hears and it is exceedingly prevalent to stay the plague and to bring down blessings from on high. We have remembered that golden prayer of our Great High Priest who ever lives to intercede, and in His name we have carried your case to the Father.
You are not forgotten in your low dungeon of sickness. The Lord is the Good Physician, and there is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. The Scripture tells us the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. Even His common mercies are full of virtue to change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you, and pardon and healing were one. From a pardoning God such mercies flow that those who are weak in heart suddenly find their spirits revive. So we pray that as you look to Him, the Sun of Righteousness may rise upon you with healing in His wings.
Do not restrain prayer before God, but go straight to Him and plead His Word. Say, O Lord, You know what I need, remember the Word unto Your servant. True prayer is just pleading with the Most High, spreading your case before Him and pressing your suit with all the arguments His promises afford. Though your breath be short and your prayer seem to reel to and fro like a staggering man at his wit's end, God will hear the prayer of one who is near unto the gates of death, for a true prayer from such a one is a prevailing prayer. He is not long in answering though we may be long in praying.
We therefore pray that the Lord in His infinite compassion would lay His pardoning and healing hand upon you, ease your breathing, strengthen your lungs, and if it be His will, restore you to health for His glory. And in those afflictions which only He can heal, we ask that He would give you faith to trust Christ alone for salvation and for every need, and quicken you in His way day by day. May He hear, may He heal, and may He give you cause to offer the sacrifice of thanksgiving and to tell of His healing power to others.
We leave you in the care of that great conduit Head from which abundant streams of healing flow down to men below, praying that you may prove His power and praise Him. Amen.

Your request has been brought before the Lord and we join you in prayer for healing. We have heard your burden concerning emphysema and COPD, possibly from second hand smoke, and the other more serious afflictions that weigh upon you, and we agree with you that only our Lord Jesus Christ can bring true healing.
Scripture teaches us that God is the Father of mercies and the God of all comfort who comforts us in all our affliction. He does not always promise to keep us from entering affliction, but He does promise to comfort us while we are in it, to give freedom and refreshment even while the trial continues, and to use it to purify us and draw us closer to Him. Every righteous person must walk the narrow way that leads to life, and that way is often marked by affliction. This is not a sign that God has forgotten you, for whom the Lord loves He chastens, and affliction in His hands becomes a great good to train our souls, to teach us to give thanks, and to make us long more deeply for His rest.
In your suffering we encourage you to flee to Him continually. As He heard the groaning of His people, so He hears yours. Christ showed when He healed that He looks first to faith in the heart, saying according to your faith be it unto you. So we pray that He would strengthen your faith, make you approved, and grant you His comfort and joy even in the midst of much affliction.
We pray now for you. Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, we ask for Your mercy and healing upon this dear one who struggles to breathe and who carries other serious afflictions. Touch the lungs and body, ease the burden of this disease, and bring restoration according to Your perfect will.
