Humble Servant of All
Dear Lord,

We come before You today with a humble heart, lifting up my department head. I ask that You would enlighten her mind and heart, revealing any manipulation or deceit. Open her eyes, Lord, to see the true colors of anyone who is manipulative, a liar, or two-faced. Help her to discern intentions and to recognize truth from falsehood.

I also pray for our relationship, Lord. May she not be blinded or swayed by any brainwashing. I ask for good communication and a strong, healthy relationship between us, built on trust and Your divine wisdom.

Enlighten her, Lord, in Your ways and according to Your will. Guide her steps, protect her from harm, and fill her with Your peace and clarity. Amen.

We join with you in lifting up this request, recognizing the deep need for wisdom, discernment, and godly relationships in every area of our lives—including the workplace. It is good that you seek the Lord’s intervention in this matter, for He alone can expose deception and bring clarity where there is confusion. As we pray, let us first acknowledge that all true enlightenment comes from Christ, who is the light of the world. *"In him was life, and the life was the light of men. The light shines in the darkness, and the darkness hasn’t overcome it"* (John 1:4-5, WEB). Without Him, we cannot see truth clearly, nor can we walk in wisdom. It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we boldly approach the throne of grace (Hebrews 4:16). We notice that while your prayer is earnest, it does not explicitly invoke the name of Jesus, through whom all prayers must be offered. There is no other name by which we are saved, and it is only through Christ that our petitions reach the Father. *"Jesus said, ‘I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me’* (John 14:6, WEB). If you have not yet placed your full trust in Jesus as your Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today, for apart from Him, even our most heartfelt prayers lack the power to move the heart of God.

Now, let us address the matter of your department head. The workplace can often be a battleground for manipulation, deceit, and spiritual blindness, but we serve a God who sees all and who desires truth in the inward parts (Psalm 51:6). The apostle Paul warns us that *"Satan himself masquerades as an angel of light"* (2 Corinthians 11:14, WEB), and his servants often appear righteous while harboring deceit. We must pray not only for discernment for your department head but also for her heart to be softened to the conviction of the Holy Spirit. *"The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it? I, Yahweh, search the mind. I try the heart, even to give every man according to his ways, according to the fruit of his doings"* (Jeremiah 17:9-10, WEB). If there are those around her who are two-faced or manipulative, we pray that their schemes would be exposed, not out of malice, but so that truth may prevail and godly wisdom may guide her decisions.

As for your relationship with her, we must be careful to define what is meant by "relationship" in this context. If this is a professional working relationship, then our prayer is for mutual respect, clear communication, and a spirit of cooperation that honors God. However, if there is any personal or emotional attachment beyond what is appropriate for a professional setting, we must caution you to guard your heart and maintain boundaries that align with scripture. The workplace is not the place to seek emotional or romantic fulfillment, as such entanglements often lead to distraction, favoritism, or even sin. *"Can a man carry fire next to his chest and his clothes not be burned? Or can one walk on hot coals and his feet not be scorched?"* (Proverbs 6:27-28, WEB). If there is any hint of impropriety—whether in thought, word, or deed—we urge you to repent and seek the Lord’s strength to walk in purity. *"Flee from sexual immorality! ‘Every sin that a man does is outside the body,’ but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s"* (1 Corinthians 6:18-20, WEB).

Let us also consider whether there is any bitterness, resentment, or unforgiveness in your heart toward this person or others in your workplace. The scripture commands us, *"Don’t let any root of bitterness spring up to trouble you and defile many"* (Hebrews 12:15, WEB). If you sense any such root, we encourage you to release it to the Lord in prayer, asking Him to fill you with His love and grace instead. Remember, we are called to bless and not to curse, even when we have been wronged. *"Bless those who persecute you; bless, and don’t curse"* (Romans 12:14, WEB).

Finally, let us pray together for this situation, asking the Lord to move mightily in the heart of your department head and in your own life as well.

---
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. We thank You that You are a God who sees all things, who discerns the thoughts and intentions of every heart, and who desires truth to triumph over deception. Lord, we lift up this department head to You, asking that You would enlighten her mind and heart by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Open her eyes, Lord, to see any manipulation, deceit, or two-facedness that may be at work around her. Expose the schemes of the enemy, not for harm, but for the sake of righteousness and clarity. *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way"* (Psalm 139:23-24, WEB). We pray this same conviction and discernment for her, that she may walk in Your wisdom and not be led astray by the counsel of the wicked.

Father, we also ask for Your guidance in the professional relationship between our sister or brother and this department head. May their interactions be marked by integrity, respect, and clear communication. Remove any misunderstanding or miscommunication that could lead to strife or division. If there has been any inappropriate attachment or emotional dependency, we ask that You would sever those ties and restore proper boundaries. Help them both to conduct themselves in a manner that is above reproach, honoring You in all things.

Lord, we pray that You would fill this department head with Your peace and clarity. If she has been blinded in any way—whether by the deceit of others or by her own prejudices—we ask that You would remove the scales from her eyes, just as You did for Saul on the road to Damascus (Acts 9:18). Soften her heart to receive Your truth, and give her the courage to act upon it, even if it is unpopular or difficult.

We also pray for our sister or brother who has brought this request. Guard their heart, Lord, and keep them from bitterness, gossip, or any ungodly response to the challenges they face. Fill them with Your love, which *"doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil"* (1 Corinthians 13:5, WEB). Give them the grace to forgive as You have forgiven them, and the wisdom to navigate this situation with humility and strength.

Father, we ask all these things in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord, who is the truth and the light. May Your will be done in this situation, and may Your kingdom come in the hearts and minds of all involved. We trust You to work all things together for the good of those who love You and are called according to Your purpose (Romans 8:28). Strengthen our faith as we wait upon You, and let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard our hearts and minds in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).

In Jesus’ mighty and holy name, we pray. Amen.
