We join you in bringing Philippians 4:19 before the Lord and we rejoice that you have claimed this precious promise over yourself and your mother and your three children and even your pets. We agree together that God is faithful to supply what His people need and we delight with you in wanting to enjoy life in His provision and peace. That verse says And my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:19 and we cling to it with you, not as a formula we loosen or speak into existence by our own power, but as a promise we trust because our Father is good and His riches in Christ Jesus are unfailing.

We want to gently encourage you in how we understand this promise. God does not call us to force His Word into existence by our declarations, but to trust Him and ask according to His will. His Word already is true and active and He fulfills it in His perfect wisdom and timing. He promises to supply every need, which means what we truly need to walk with Him and do His will, and often He graciously gives even more out of His love, but our greatest joy is not in having no worries because we declared it, but in casting our worries on Him because He cares for us. As it is written In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus Philippians 4:6-7.

We also hear your heart about strength and about the enemy and his agents being bound and muted and about praying in your mind and escaping safely in secret under the blood of Jesus. We agree that God hears even the prayers we pray silently in our minds, for He sees in secret. When you pray, enter into your inner room, and having shut your door, pray to your Father who is in secret; and your Father who sees in secret will reward you openly Matthew 6:6. You do not need to worry that a silent prayer is less powerful, for the Lord knows our thoughts and our needs before we speak them.

We also agree that we are in a spiritual battle and that the enemy seeks to steal and destroy, but our focus is to keep our eyes on Christ rather than on Satan and his crew. Scripture tells us Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour 1 Peter 5:8 and also Be subject therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you James 4:7. It is God who protects and who ultimately binds the enemy, and He calls us not to curse or treat people as enemies permanently, even those who act in evil, but to overcome evil with good and to love and pray for those who oppose us, while trusting God to be our defender. No weapon that is formed against you will prevail Isaiah 54:17 and But the Lord is faithful, who will establish you and guard you from the evil one 2 Thessalonians 3:3. We do not need to put people into permanent silent or mute modes ourselves, but we can trust the Lord to guard our hearts and our household and to make us strong not in ourselves but in Him, for He has said My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness 2 Corinthians 12:9 and Greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world 1 John 4:4.

We rejoice that you have mentioned the blood of Jesus, for it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12 and Through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father Ephesians 2:18. The blood of Jesus is not a phrase to seal our own declarations, but the precious means by which we are forgiven and brought near to God, and we thank God that you are trusting in Him.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we thank You for this dear one and for their mother and for their three children and for the pets You have entrusted to their care. We thank You that You see them and love them and that You know every need they have. We ask that You would supply every need according to Your riches in glory in Christ Jesus, providing daily bread and shelter and health and peace and all that is needed to live for Your glory. Teach them to walk in contentment and joy, enjoying the abundant life Jesus came to give, not in fear but in trust. Guard their minds and hearts with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Hear even their silent prayers in secret and let them know You are near. Strengthen them when they feel weak, for Your power is made perfect in weakness, and make them strong in You. Protect them from the evil one, let no weapon formed against them prosper, and help them to resist the devil by submitting to You, while showing love even to those who do wrong, leaving vengeance and judgment in Your hands. Cover them with the blood of Jesus, keep them in Your secret shelter as they dwell in the shelter of the Most High Psalm 91:1, and cause all things to work together for good for those who love You Romans 8:28. Draw each one in this family closer to Jesus, that they would know Him as Savior and Lord and walk in His will all their days. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, Amen.

The promise you have laid hold upon is indeed a faithful word, and my God will supply every need of yours according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. Yet mark well the manner of its truth. It is not by our loosening words into existence as though faith were a charm, but by the sovereign goodness of our God who creates that he may display his own perfections and who supplies according to his wisdom and love in Christ. There is no attribute more comforting to his children than the doctrine of Divine Sovereignty, for he does with us as he wills, and all his will is good. He will lift up the poor from the dunghill while he casts down the mighty from their seats, and he breaks in pieces everything that sets itself up in opposition to him, for from the time when Satan fell his purpose has been to break down all arrogance that presumes apart from him.

You speak of weakness and strength, and of enemies that would harm you and those dear to you. Know this, that when we are overcome of evil it discovers the sad weakness of our spiritual life, but Divine Grace continually gives us the victory. To return evil for evil is natural to the animal nature, but it is never natural to the new created spirit whose nature is like the God from which it came, namely love, gentleness and kindness. Good for evil is God like. The method of overcoming evil with evil does us far more injury than any evil we suffer from others, and it will not bear to be pondered. Rather we are called to overcome evil with good, leaving vengeance to the Lord who has said he will dry up the green tree and make the dry tree to flourish according to his own purpose.

You speak also of the blood of Jesus, and there you touch the true remedy. The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin. It is not a phrase to bind in a formula, but a fountain opened for sin and uncleanness, by which the chief of sinners may be cleansed and know that he stands accepted before the throne of God. If you would be kept safe, you and your mother and your three children, and even the creatures entrusted to your care, remember that providential interpositions are frequent among God's people, and they can often say, He sent from above, he took me, he drew me out of many waters. He hath delivered my soul from death, mine eyes from tears and my feet from falling. Your quiet prayers, even those prayed in the mind, are heard by him who searches the heart, for his divine Spirit wrought all your works in you.

So I pray for you that the Lord will supply all your need, not according to your word but according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus, that he will keep you in perfect peace as you trust in him, that he will guard your household from the evil one and from every weapon formed against you, and that he will cause you to escape safely by his secret and sovereign hand. May he show you that your greatest need is Christ himself, salvation through Jesus Christ alone, and may that blood which cleanses from all sin be your confidence, your plea and your song. Cast your cares upon him, be strong in the Lord and in the power of his might, and walk in love toward those who oppose you, that Divine Grace may give you the victory.

Your prayer for Gods provision for you, your mother, your three children and your pets has been heard and we have brought it before the Lord with thanksgiving.

Philippians 4:19 is a precious promise and it is right to love it and to trust it. In that passage Paul was giving thanks for the kindness of the Philippian church and he assured them that his God will supply every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. This does not mean that we loosen a verse into existence by our words or by declaring it. The promise is not made effective by our speaking but by Gods grace. As Scripture teaches, we are to let our requests with thanksgiving be made known unto God, and to receive His blessing as from His hand, for He is the cause of all good things. We do not command God, we ask Him and trust Him.

You asked that you would have no worries and would be strong. It is good to desire strength, yet Scripture teaches us that in ourselves we are weak and our strength is in Christ alone. Even Peter, who loved the Lord greatly, learned that apart from God he could do nothing, and the Lord allowed Satan to sift him that his faith might be tested and yet not fail. Paul also says plainly that Satan hindered him. The evil one does oppose the work of God with temptations and hindrances, but he is not silenced by our declarations or put on mute by our words. The Lord Himself restrains him, and Christ has overcome him by His blood. Our safety is not in our own binding of Satan but in abiding in Christ and leaving our interests to God. If we are thoughtful about our needs as people who must control all things, we carry a heavy burden. If we leave them to God who provides as God, He will care for what is truly needful, both for this life and for the life to come.

God does call us to make provision for the needs of our bodies, for health and for daily bread, but not to make provision to fulfill every desire or to live for wantonness and ease. He calls us to seek first spiritual things, to be sober and watchful, and to trust Him for the rest. He knows what you and your family need, and He hears prayer whether it is spoken aloud or prayed quietly in the mind, for He knows the heart.

So we pray for you now in this way. Father, we thank You for Your mercy in Christ Jesus, through whose blood alone we have forgiveness and life. We ask that You supply what is needful for this dear one, for his mother, for his three children, and that You show Your kindness even to the pets You have made. Give them daily bread, health according to Your wisdom, protection from the plots of the evil one, and above all a deeper trust in Your Son. Keep their faith from failing when they are tested, teach them to pray with thanksgiving and to rest in Your will, and make them strong not in themselves but in Christ. Help them to walk in holiness and to set their minds on what endures. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen.

Thank you for sharing your heart and your desire to trust God to care for you, your mother, your three children and even your pets. It is good that you are looking to the promise in Philippians 4:19, that God will supply every need according to his riches in glory in Christ Jesus. That promise is true, and it rests on the generosity and wisdom of our Father, not on speaking words to force something into existence. God knows what you truly need, and he provides according to his perfect love and riches in Christ, which is far better than simply giving us whatever we declare. We can bring our needs to him with confidence and leave the outcome in his hands.

It is also good that you want to pray continually, even quietly in your mind. God hears that kind of prayer. He is not limited to loud words. He knows your thoughts before you speak them, and he invites you to cast all your care on him. Your strength also does not come from trying to convince yourself that you are strong. Scripture teaches that our strength is in Christ. When we are weak, he is strong for us, and through faith in Jesus we are given power to stand.

You mentioned Satan and his forces, and it is right to recognize that we have a real spiritual adversary. The name Satan means adversary. He is not the opposite of God, as if there were two equal powers. He is a created being who fell through pride and rebellion and became the enemy of God and of God's people. From the garden, his method has been deception, suggesting that God is not fair or not good, and trying to turn hearts away from obedience. He is described as the prince of this world for a season, going about and accusing, and he is subtle and wily. Yet he is limited. The story of Job shows that he cannot touch God's people without permission, and that God remains sovereign over all he does.

Most important, Satan has been defeated through the cross. He did everything he could to keep Jesus from the cross, because it was there that his power was broken. Jesus rose as the firstfruits of resurrection and led captivity captive, and through his death he judged and dethroned the adversary. That means Satan no longer has rightful authority over those who belong to Christ. The only power he can exercise over a believer now is what that person allows by yielding to his lies or temptation. When we resist him in the name of Jesus and in the power of the Holy Spirit, he must yield, not because of the force of our words, but because of the victory Jesus has already won.

For that reason, we do not permanently bind Satan by our own declarations or put him in silent mode by a formula. God himself will bring the final binding in his own time. Our part now is to stand firm, to recognize an attack for what it is, to refuse it in faith, and to rejoice in the redemption we have through the blood of Jesus. The blood of Jesus is not a phrase to add for effect. It is the true basis of our forgiveness, cleansing and safety before God. Through it we are pardoned, brought into God's family, and kept secure. Condemnation that drives you away from Jesus and tells you there is no hope is from the adversary. Conviction that draws you toward Jesus for forgiveness and cleansing is from the Holy Spirit.

So I will pray for you, your mother, your three children and your pets, that the Lord will supply what you truly need day by day, that he will give you peace from worry, that he will keep you close to Jesus where you are forgiven and protected, and that you will grow in discerning the adversary's lies while resting in Christ's finished victory. May you know that you are heard when you pray, even silently, and that your safety is in the hands of the One who redeemed you and who will one day make all things right.
