We understand your heart’s cry for protection and justice, and we join you in lifting this burden before the Lord. The Scriptures remind us that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness (Ephesians 6:12). While it is natural to desire vindication, we must also remember that God calls us to love our enemies, bless those who curse us, and pray for those who mistreat us (Matthew 5:44). This does not mean we ignore injustice or fail to seek God’s protection, but we trust Him to act righteously on our behalf while we maintain a heart of forgiveness and surrender.
The Lord is our defender, and He promises to contend with those who contend with us (Isaiah 49:25). He sees the wickedness of those who rise against His people, and He will bring justice in His perfect timing. Proverbs 16:7 tells us, *"When a man’s ways please Yahweh, he makes even his enemies to be at peace with him."* Let us first examine our own hearts to ensure we are walking in obedience and love, for God’s favor rests on those who seek Him wholeheartedly.
At the same time, we recognize that there are genuine spiritual battles where evil seeks to harm God’s people. Psalm 35 is a powerful prayer of David when he faced enemies who sought his destruction. He cried out, *"Contend, Yahweh, with those who contend with me. Fight against those who fight against me. Take hold of shield and buckler, and stand up for my help. Brandish the spear and block those who pursue me. Tell my soul, ‘I am your salvation.’"* (Psalm 35:1-3). Like David, we can boldly ask God to intervene, trusting that He will act justly.
However, we must also be cautious of our motives. James 4:1-3 warns us, *"Where do wars and fightings among you come from? Don’t they come from your pleasures that war in your members? You lust, and don’t have. You kill, covet, and can’t obtain. You fight and make war. You don’t have, because you don’t ask. You ask, and don’t receive, because you ask with wrong motives, so that you may spend it for your pleasures."* Let us ensure our prayers are aligned with God’s will and not driven by bitterness, vengeance, or selfish ambition.
If there are specific sins or injustices committed against you, we encourage you to bring them before the Lord and seek His wisdom on how to respond. Romans 12:19-21 instructs us, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, ‘Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.’ Therefore ‘If your enemy is hungry, feed him. If he is thirsty, give him a drink; for in doing so, you will heap coals of fire on his head.’ Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good."* Trust that God’s justice is far greater than anything we could enact ourselves.
We also urge you to consider whether there is any unforgiveness in your heart. Unforgiveness can hinder our prayers and give the enemy a foothold in our lives (Mark 11:25-26). Jesus taught us to pray, *"Forgive us our debts, as we also forgive our debtors"* (Matthew 6:12). Releasing bitterness and trusting God to handle your enemies is a powerful act of faith.
Now, let us pray together for your situation:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing opposition and enemies that seek to harm them and their loved ones. Lord, You are a God of justice, and You see the wickedness that rises against Your people. We ask that You would arise, O God, and contend with those who contend with them. Let Your hand be heavy upon those who seek to do evil, and expose their deeds in Your perfect timing. Remove every scheme of the enemy and frustrate the plans of those who wish harm.
At the same time, Father, we ask that You would guard their heart against bitterness, anger, or a desire for vengeance. Fill them with Your peace and remind them that vengeance belongs to You. Help them to walk in forgiveness, even as they trust You to act justly. Surround them and their loved ones with Your divine protection, and let no weapon formed against them prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
If there are areas in their life where they need to repent or seek reconciliation, reveal it to them, Lord. Give them wisdom to know how to respond to their enemies in a way that honors You. Let them be a light in the darkness, overcoming evil with good.
We also pray for the salvation of those who oppose them. Father, You desire that none should perish but that all would come to repentance (2 Peter 3:9). Soften the hearts of their enemies and draw them to Yourself. May they encounter Your love and truth in such a way that they turn from their wickedness and seek Your face.
Lord, we declare that no scheme of the enemy will prevail against Your child. You are their shield, their strong tower, and their deliverer. We trust You to fight this battle and bring glory to Your name through it. Strengthen them, encourage them, and let them rest in the assurance that You are working all things together for their good (Romans 8:28).
In the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, we pray. Amen.
Finally, we encourage you to continue seeking the Lord daily through prayer, Scripture, and worship. Stay rooted in His Word, and trust that He is faithful to complete the work He has begun in you (Philippians 1:6). If there are specific ways you are being attacked—spiritually, emotionally, or physically—share those details so we can pray more specifically. You are not alone in this battle; the Lord is with you, and His people stand with you in prayer.
