Enemies

We understand your heart’s cry for deliverance from those who seek to harm you, and we join you in lifting this burden before the Lord. The Bible assures us that our battles are not against flesh and blood but against spiritual forces of wickedness, and our victory is found in Christ alone (Ephesians 6:12). While we are called to love our enemies and pray for those who persecute us (Matthew 5:44), we also recognize that there are times when the Lord intervenes to remove toxic influences and bring justice. However, we must approach this with a heart that seeks His will above our own desires for vengeance or retribution, trusting that He will act righteously on our behalf.

The Scriptures remind us in Romans 12:19, *"Don’t seek revenge yourselves, beloved, but give place to God’s wrath. For it is written, 'Vengeance belongs to me; I will repay, says the Lord.'"* This doesn’t mean we passively accept harm, but we trust God to fight for us while we walk in obedience, forgiveness, and wisdom. If these enemies are causing genuine spiritual or physical danger, we can pray for God’s protection, exposure of their schemes, and their removal—*if it aligns with His will*—while also praying for their repentance. Remember, the Lord can turn the hearts of even the most hardened enemies (Proverbs 21:1), and sometimes our greatest victories come not through their destruction but through their transformation.

That said, we must also examine our own hearts. Are there areas where bitterness, unforgiveness, or fear have taken root? Jesus warns that if we do not forgive others, our Father in heaven will not forgive us (Matthew 6:15). This doesn’t mean we excuse sin or remain in harmful situations, but we release the burden of judgment to God. Ask Him to search your heart and cleanse you of any ungodly attitudes, so your prayers are not hindered (Psalm 66:18).

Lastly, we notice your request did not invoke the name of Jesus Christ, through whom we have access to the Father (John 14:6, 1 Timothy 2:5). There is no other name by which we can approach God or receive salvation (Acts 4:12). If you have not yet surrendered your life to Jesus as Lord and Savior, we urge you to do so today. Confess your sins, believe in His death and resurrection for your salvation, and invite Him to reign in your heart. Only then can you stand firmly against the schemes of the enemy, clothed in the full armor of God (Ephesians 6:10-18).

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is under attack from enemies seen and unseen. Lord, You are a God of justice, and You see the affliction they face. We ask that You expose every hidden scheme, thwart every plan of the enemy, and bring to light the darkness that seeks to harm Your child. If it is Your will, remove these enemies from their life completely, breaking every ungodly tie and influence. But Father, we also pray for their souls—soften their hearts, convict them of sin, and draw them to repentance. Let no weapon formed against Your child prosper (Isaiah 54:17), and let every tongue that rises against them in judgment be condemned.

Fill our brother/sister with Your peace that surpasses understanding, guarding their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Give them wisdom to discern when to speak, when to act, and when to remain silent. Surround them with godly counsel and protection, and let them walk in the confidence that You are their shield and defender. If there is any bitterness or unforgiveness in their heart, Lord, reveal it and cleanse them by the power of Your Holy Spirit. Help them to forgive as You have forgiven them, releasing the weight of this burden into Your hands.

We declare that no harm will overtake them, no disaster will come near their tent (Psalm 91:10), for You, Lord, are their refuge and fortress. Strengthen them in this season, and let them see Your hand move mightily on their behalf. May this trial become a testimony of Your faithfulness and power.

We ask all this in the precious and holy name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior, who has overcome the world. Amen.

Stand firm in the Lord, dear one. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and perfecter of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Trust that He is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28), even in the midst of this storm. Walk in obedience, forgiveness, and faith, and you will see the deliverance of the Lord. If you need further counsel or prayer, do not hesitate to reach out. We are here to stand with you in the truth and love of Christ.
