Prayer Focus: God, Thank You for loving me. Thank You for loving me, Jesus. God, I ask You in Jesus’ name please bless me with everything that I stand in need of and everything You want me to have. God bless me to prosper, walk in excellent health, and never stop growing in the love, grace, wisdom, and knowledge of Christ Jesus. God bless me to know You in truth, fall in love with You with all my heart, mind, soul, body, and strength and never fall out of love with You. God, bless me to have an ever growing closer stronger, more intimate relationship with You. Bless me with the love, desire, strength, and the spirit of obedience to always delight myself in You, seek first Your kingdom, Your righteousness, and to always respect and obey You. Bless me to know You, so that I can trust You with all my heart, acknowledge You in all my ways, and lean not to my own understanding. Bless me with knowledge, wisdom, and understanding in all You have called me to do.

God heal me in every area of my life. Deliver and cleanse me of everything in my life that doesn't honor You. Transform and renew my mind. Bless me with love, power, and a sound mind. We hear your urgency and share in the blessed hope of our Lord’s return. The Scriptures indeed declare that the end of all things is near, and we are called to be watchful, sober, and ready. The apostle Peter writes, "But the end of all things is near. Therefore be of sound mind, self-controlled, and sober in prayer" (1 Peter 4:7 WEB). This is not a time for fear, but for faithfulness, for living in holiness, love, and anticipation of Christ’s glorious appearing.

Yet we must also caution against speculation or setting dates, for Jesus Himself said, "But no one knows of that day and hour, not even the angels of heaven, but my Father only" (Matthew 24:36 WEB). Our focus must remain on preparing our own hearts and proclaiming the Gospel to a lost world, not on predicting timetables. The signs of the times are evident, wars, rumors of wars, moral decay, and the rise of deception, but our response should be one of steadfast obedience, not sensationalism.

We lift this truth before the Lord in prayer:

Heavenly Father, we thank You for the sure and certain hope of Christ’s return. We ask that You would keep our hearts fixed on You, that we would live each day in readiness, not in idleness or distraction. Help us to be bold in sharing the Gospel, to love one another deeply, and to walk in purity and truth. Guard us from deception, Lord, and let us not be swayed by fear or false teachings. Instead, fill us with Your peace and the power of Your Holy Spirit. May we be found faithful when our Savior comes, and may we bring glory to Your name in all we do. In Jesus’ mighty name we pray, Amen.

To those reading who may not yet know Christ as Savior, we urge you: the time is short. Jesus is the only way to the Father, and salvation is found in no other name (Acts 4:12). If you have not repented of your sins and placed your trust in Him, do not delay. Confess your need for a Savior, turn from your sins, and receive the gift of eternal life. The Lord is patient, not wanting anyone to perish, but the day of His return will come like a thief in the night (2 Peter 3:9-10).

Let us live as children of the light, shining brightly in a dark world, until the day our King returns. Maranatha, come, Lord Jesus!

We share that longing for our Lord’s return, and we're moved by your urgency for others to be ready. That hope has been the steady pulse of the church through every generation, and we join you in lifting our eyes to the promise that one day every knee will bow and every tear will be wiped away.

Yet we’ve found that this readiness isn't just a matter of watching the calendar or stoking a fear of missing the deadline. It’s a daily settledness in the One who already holds us. We get ready by staying close to Jesus right where we are, loving our actual neighbors, turning from what we know is wrong, and letting his Spirit shape our hearts into his likeness. If we’re abiding in him, we’re ready. The writer of Hebrews urges us to spur one another on toward love and good deeds, and that quiet, faithful living often speaks louder than any urgent proclamation. So perhaps the most concrete step forward is to ask ourselves: Is there a person in my life today who needs a tangible taste of Christ’s patience and kindness? Offering that may be the very thing that prepares hearts, ours and theirs, for his coming.

Father, we thank you for the sure hope that Jesus will return. Keep our hearts watchful without being frantic, and grounded in the work you’ve given us to do right now. Help this dear brother or sister to rest in the finished work of the cross even as they long for the wedding feast. Fill them with your peace that passes understanding, and let their life shine with the gentle urgency of your love. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

The cry that the end of all things is at hand has echoed down the corridors of time from the Master’s own lips until now, and it is a blessed hope. Yet the readiness of which you speak is not a single moment of alarm, but a perpetual posture of the soul. The question is not merely whether you have calculated the hour, but whether you are, even now, coming to Him. My text is clear: “To whom coming.” It is a continuous coming. As a child comes again and again for its daily bread, so must the believer come to Christ for spiritual food, for garments of righteousness, for life itself. The end of all things will reveal who has been always coming, always returning.

When the Scripture cries “Return, return, O Shulamite; return, return,” note that the word is put four times over. How patient is our Lord with our wanderings! A single slip, a second, a third, and yet the Master’s voice still pleads, “Return, return, return.” Memory may accuse you of a lifetime of broken Sabbaths and despised Words, but the voice from above bids you come now. Let the bell of this sermon summon you. You ask if I am ready, but I press you with another question: from what are you to return this very hour? Return now every one from his evil way. The great remedy against looking unto sin is looking unto Jesus.

This readiness you long for is not built upon a feverish watching of the skies, but upon the solid fact that “he that believeth on him is not condemned.” There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus. Not a sin in the Book of God is laid to their charge. You will not need to wear any other dress in heaven than the righteousness you wear here, a robe so perfect that the first and the last shall be made equal by the God of all grace. The one who feels himself last and least is often the one the Lord counts first, for he has learned to shrink into nothing in his own esteem.

Do not push away the thought of your own last end, for all men think all men mortal but themselves. The hour is coming when that same voice of Jesus which now sounds in this place will summon every soul. If you will not hear that voice now in mercy, you must hear it then in judgment. But be of good cheer, for Jesus finds us before we ever find Him. The day following, Jesus would go forth and find Philip. It is always His previous work that undergirds our coming. Therefore, let this be the habit of your life: an incessant, lifelong, perpetual coming to the heavenly Father, with greater expectations, returning from every evil way, not to be counted ready by your own measure, but to be found complete in Him.

The Lord did not answer His disciples by setting a date, but directed their attention to the urgent matters closest at hand, lest they be deceived by those who cry, "I am Christ." So too must we be watchful, for the distinguishing mark of His coming is that it will not be in a corner or in secret, but open and manifest to all, as the lightning that shines from east to west. The question is not whether the end is near, for the Master said, "Surely I come quickly," but whether you yourself are prepared to meet Him. That readiness is not found in proclaiming the lateness of the hour, but in the proving of one's own soul.

For what does the Apostle say? "Let each man prove himself, and then let him approach." If you come together without this examination, you may come unto judgment rather than blessing. The life of the Christian must be full of blood-sheddings, not the blood of others, but the readiness to shed one's own for Christ's sake, pouring it out as freely as water. This means putting off the flesh with as good a temper as one would a garment. And this we can only do if we are detached from riches, from houses, from the clinging affections that bind us to this world.

You ask, Are you ready? But consider how the Apostle dealt with those who thought they stood. He did not flatter their zeal but warned them repeatedly, once, twice, even a third time, not sparing them in his letters so that they might correct their errors before his arrival. If the fall of Israel was used for the salvation of the Gentiles, shall we then be haughty? Let us rather learn reasonableness, lest we who think we stand fall through presumption. Examine yourself, therefore, with fear and trembling. Shed the attachments that make the soul sluggish. Then, whether He comes this very night or tarries yet a while, you may keep festival at all times and approach the table with a clean conscience, waiting not for the trumpet's sound to begin your repentance, but living as one already standing before the King.

Your passion for the return of Christ stirs my own heart. That cry from Revelation, “Surely I come quickly,” is meant to keep hope alive in every generation, and the early church burned with that same anticipation. They were not mistaken to wait for Him as if He could come at any moment; that is exactly how the Lord designed His people to live. So you are right to sound the alarm: Jesus is coming, and the question “Are you ready?” falls on every ear with eternal weight.

But we must also speak with care. Describing any generation as the final one with absolute certainty has often led to confusion and even mockery of the gospel. There were those who calculated the year from Daniel’s days, only to be proven wrong. Others fixed precise dates in my own lifetime and were equally disappointed. Jesus never asked us to chart the calendar; He asked us to watch. The delay does not signal His slowness but His mercy, still gathering in the full number of those who will call on His name. He will come when the Father’s time is complete, not a moment sooner or later.

So what does being ready look like? It is not frantic speculation, but a daily submission to the work of Christ in you. You are being conformed to His image through the small, often hidden obedience that nobody sees. That is the real preparation often overlooked. The mystery is not a new revelation about end-time events, but Christ dwelling in you, the hope of glory. If you are in Him, you are already sanctified by His offering once for all, and His righteousness clothes you. Readiness is walking in that truth, putting on the Lord Jesus, and making no provision for the flesh.

Invest your days in eternal things. Love the body of believers, be salt that preserves what is good, and take the gospel to every corner you can reach. In that sense, you hasten the day of His appearing, not by unlocking prophetic riddles, but by advancing His kingdom. The Spirit who was poured out at Pentecost is still working, and the ultimate fulfillment of that promise will climax when the King returns. Until then, do not despise the ordinary seasons of small growth. Teach your heart to pray with Moses, “So teach us to number our days, that we may gain a heart of wisdom.”

When the last trumpet sounds, it will not be a woe for those who are Christ’s, but glory. He who has delayed for a purpose will not tarry forever. Keep your eyes lifted, hold fast to the testimony of Jesus as your Lord, and let that hope purify you. Do not be carried away by new end-time theories that go beyond what is written. Simply walk as you received Him: in faith, in love, and in joyful, patient waiting. He is coming. That is enough.
