First, we must address the reality of your situation with truth and urgency. Abuse is never acceptable, and you have every right to seek safety and freedom from those who harm you. The Bible does not call us to endure mistreatment in the name of suffering; rather, it calls us to flee from evil and seek refuge in God. Proverbs 14:26 says, *"In the fear of the Lord is strong confidence, and his children will have a place of refuge."* You are not alone, even if it feels that way. The Lord is your refuge, and He will provide a way out. We pray that He would open doors for you to escape this toxic environment and surround you with people who will love and support you as He intends.
We also want to gently but firmly rebuke the sin of abuse in this situation. Those who harm you are not walking in the love of Christ, and their actions are an affront to God’s design for relationships. We pray that the Lord would convict their hearts and bring them to repentance, but we also pray that He would remove you from their influence so that you may heal and thrive. We pray that you would surrender your life to Christ and allow Him to be your strength, your refuge, and your hope.
