Chrysostom
Beloved of All
Your need has been heard and I am joining you in prayer before the Lord for you in this time of desperation.
I pray that God, who sees your struggle to make ends meet and knows your anxiety about the future, will open a door for work and for your career according to His wisdom and mercy. I ask the Father in the name of Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to God and salvation, to provide for your daily needs, to give you guidance where to look and whom to ask, to grant you favor with employers, and to give you strength and clarity as you wait and seek.
Scripture teaches us to make provision for the needs of the body for health and for honest living, not for excess or wantonness, and to set our greatest diligence on spiritual things. In the same way, I pray you will be given not only bread for today but also a steady mind to use what God provides well, to prune away anxious and excessive desires, and to keep your heart fixed on Him while you labor. This present life passes quickly like a dream, but the way we walk through it, in faith and faithfulness, has lasting consequence, so we can trust God to use even this hard season to form endurance and hope in us.
Do not grow torpid or lose heart, but be ready as one stripped for a contest, to labor faithfully for a little while. Whatever work God places before you, do it heartily as unto the Lord, trusting that He crowns faithful perseverance. Seek first His kingdom and His righteousness, and ask Him to add what you need. Keep asking, keep seeking, keep knocking, and keep taking the practical steps that are before you each day to look for work, to use your gifts, and to let others know you are available.
May the Lord show you His open door, supply what you lack, give you peace that guards your heart, and draw you closer to Himself through Jesus Christ. I will continue to pray that He sustains you, provides opportunity, and grants you wisdom for each next step.
