You pour out your heart about tomorrow, the surgery, the fear of what it entails, and the deep ache of feeling overlooked by your family. It is all so much to carry on your own. The future presses in, and when it does, it is easy for the mind to race ahead, trying to control what we do not yet know. The Scripture wisely reminds us that we should not boast about tomorrow, for we do not know what a day may bring forth. This is not a discouragement but a release. We are taught to hold our plans loosely, saying, “If the Lord wills, we will do this or that.” So, as you face this procedure, you can place this very surgery into His hands. You can pray, “Lord, if You will, let this surgery go well.” Your hope is not in a guaranteed outcome you can see, but in the One who already holds tomorrow.
Jesus also teaches us not to take anxious thought for the morrow. The bulk of our worry is borrowed from a day we have not yet lived. He tells us that sufficient for the day is its own trouble. Today has enough to attend to. And the same Lord who sees you through today will be faithful to see you through tomorrow. He is the one who clothes the grass of the field, which is here today and gone tomorrow. How much more will He care for you? This is a call to trust, even when trust feels hard. You can make His kingdom and His righteousness your chief pursuit and entrust these other pressing needs to Him.
Your body also needs this surgery, and you dread the pain. There is a kind of radical surgery that is necessary for things that have become destructive. You have described an ### that has become very large. It must be dealt with directly. The procedure will likely hurt, and recovery will take time, but the purpose of that hurt is healing. It is far better to endure the temporary pain of a necessary operation than to let the destructive thing remain. The cutting is for the sake of restoration. Do not be afraid of what is needed for your health, even though the process seems overwhelming. The hands of the doctors and nurses are guided by a wisdom higher than our own.
Regarding your family, the cry of your heart is that you would become a priority to your parents and your relatives, that you would not be ignored. That is a profound sorrow. The Bible speaks clearly about the duty and beauty of family loyalty. So, entrust this surgery and your family to the Lord. You do not know what tomorrow will bring, but you know the God who rules over tomorrow. The hurt you are facing is for a purpose. And the family you long for is found first and ultimately in Him, who will never leave you nor overlook you.
