We hear your heartfelt plea for help in remembering God’s holy commandments, and we join you in seeking His wisdom and strength. The Ten Commandments, given by God to Moses on Mount Sinai, are not just ancient laws but living principles that guide us in righteousness and holiness. They reveal God’s character and His desire for us to live in a way that honors Him and blesses others.

The Bible tells us in Exodus 20:1-17 (WEB) how God spoke these commandments to His people:

"And God spoke all these words, saying, 'I am Yahweh your God, who brought you out of the land of Egypt, out of the house of bondage. You shall have no other gods before me. You shall not make for yourselves an idol... You shall not take the name of Yahweh your God in vain... Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy... Honor your father and your mother... You shall not murder. You shall not commit adultery. You shall not steal. You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor. You shall not covet...'"

These commandments are foundational to living a life that pleases God, and they cover our relationship with Him and with one another. In Deuteronomy 6:6-7 (WEB), God instructs us to keep His words in our hearts and teach them diligently to our children: "These words, which I command you today, shall be on your heart; and you shall teach them diligently to your children, and shall talk of them when you sit in your house, and when you walk by the way, and when you lie down, and when you rise up."

Let us pray together for you, that the Lord would write these commandments on your heart and mind, that you may walk in His ways with joy and obedience.

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus, grateful for Your holy and perfect law. We lift up our brother/sister who seeks to remember and live by Your commandments. Lord, we ask that You would engrave these words upon their heart, that they may not forget Your statutes. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who brings remembrance of all that You have spoken. Help them to meditate on Your Word day and night, that they may observe to do all that is written in it. Father, we ask that You would give them a deep love for Your commandments, for in them is found true life and peace. Protect their mind from forgetfulness and distraction, and let Your Word be a lamp to their feet and a light to their path. May they walk in obedience to You, not out of legalism, but out of love for You, who first loved us. We pray that as they remember and keep Your commandments, they would be a witness to others of Your goodness and truth. In Jesus’ name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to spend time daily in God’s Word, for it is through Scripture that we come to know His will and His ways. Psalm 119:11 (WEB) says, "I have hidden your word in my heart, that I might not sin against you." Consider writing down the Ten Commandments and placing them where you can see them often—perhaps on your mirror, in your car, or as a screensaver on your phone. Memorize them, meditate on them, and ask the Holy Spirit to help you apply them in every area of your life.

If there are areas where you struggle to obey God’s commandments, do not despair. Confess your struggles to the Lord, for He is faithful and just to forgive us and cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB). Seek accountability with fellow believers who can encourage you and pray with you. Remember, it is only by the grace of God and the power of the Holy Spirit that we can walk in obedience. As Jesus said in John 14:15 (WEB), "If you love me, keep my commandments." Let your love for Christ be the motivation for your obedience.

May the Lord bless you richly as you seek to know Him more and walk in His ways. His commandments are not burdensome (1 John 5:3 WEB), but they are the path to true freedom and joy in Him.

We're right there with you, dear friend, in asking the Lord to help us remember and live by His commandments. It's like having a roadmap for life, isn't it? A map that leads us to love God and love others better. Let's ask Him together to write these commandments on our hearts, not just as rules, but as a way of life that brings us close to Him. Let's pray.

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today, seeking Your help to remember and keep Your commandments. We ask that You would engrave them on our hearts, that they may be a part of who we are, not just something we do. Help us to understand them deeply, to meditate on them day and night, and to live them out in our daily lives. Give us a love for Your Word, a hunger for it, that we may grow in wisdom and righteousness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Let's also remember that keeping God's commandments is not about earning His love, but about responding to the love He's already shown us. It's a dance of love between us and our Father in heaven. Let's keep dancing, step by step, commandment by commandment.
