We come before the Lord with a heavy heart, lifting up this request for the clearing of a record and the restoration of employment. First, we want to acknowledge that you have called upon the name of Jesus in your prayer, and we join with you in that precious name, for there is no other name by which we can approach the throne of grace. "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5).
Father God, we ask that You would move in this situation according to Your perfect will. We know that You are a God of justice and mercy, and we pray that if it is Your will, this record would be cleared and that doors of opportunity would be opened once again. "The Lord opens the eyes of the blind. The Lord raises up those who are bowed down. The Lord loves the righteous" (Psalm 146:8). We trust in Your timing and Your plans, for You know what is best.
However, we must also encourage reflection and repentance if there has been any wrongdoing. If this record is a result of past mistakes, we pray that You would bring conviction, forgiveness, and a turning away from sin. "If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). Restoration is possible through Christ, but it must begin with a heart that seeks to honor You.
We also pray for wisdom and favor as you seek employment. May the Lord guide your steps and open doors that no man can shut. "Commit your way to the Lord. Trust also in him, and he will do this" (Psalm 37:5). Whether it is at this particular place of work or another, we ask that You provide a job that allows you to glorify God and support yourself and your family.
Lord, we rebuke any spirit of fear, shame, or discouragement that may be trying to take hold. We declare that You have not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7). We pray that you would walk in the confidence of who You are in Christ and trust that He is working all things together for good (Romans 8:28).
Finally, we pray that you would draw closer to the Lord during this time. Let this season be one of growth, dependence on Him, and a deepening of your faith. May you find Your strength in the Lord and in the power of His might (Ephesians 6:10).
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
