We understand your heart’s cry for forgiveness, and we rejoice that you have come before the Lord in the name of Jesus Christ, for it is only through Him that we find mercy and grace. The Scripture assures us in 1 John 1:9, *"If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness."* What a precious promise—that when we humbly repent, our Heavenly Father not only forgives but also purifies us from every trace of sin.
Yet we must also ask: what is the *"another thing"* weighing on your heart? If there is unconfessed sin, a burden of guilt, or a struggle you are facing, we urge you to bring it fully into the light before God. He already knows, and His desire is not to condemn but to restore. Psalm 32:5 declares, *"I acknowledged my sin to you. I didn’t hide my iniquity. I said, I will confess my transgressions to Yahweh, and you forgave the iniquity of my sin."* There is freedom in naming our sins before Him—no more hiding, no more shame when we surrender to His love.
If this *"another thing"* involves a relationship, a habit, or a choice that does not align with God’s Word, we lovingly but firmly call you to turn away from it. For example, if it involves sexual immorality (fornication, adultery, or homosexuality), the Bible is clear: *"Don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals, nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom"* (1 Corinthians 6:9-10). Yet the very next verse offers hope: *"Such were some of you, but you were washed. But you were sanctified. But you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus, and in the Spirit of our God"* (1 Corinthians 6:11). Repentance is possible, and transformation is real in Christ!
If your struggle is something else—pride, bitterness, fear, or doubt—know that God’s power is greater. He is not shocked by your sin; He is ready to redeem it. Romans 8:1 reminds us, *"There is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who don’t walk according to the flesh, but according to the Spirit."*
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we lift up this precious soul before You, thanking You that they have come to You in the name of Jesus—the only name by which we are saved. Lord, we ask that You would grant them a spirit of full repentance, not just for the sins they’ve named but for every hidden thing You are calling them to surrender. Wash them clean by the blood of the Lamb and renew their mind by Your Holy Spirit. If there is any stronghold of sin—whether in thought, word, or deed—break its power, Lord. Replace shame with Your peace, guilt with Your forgiveness, and bondage with Your freedom.
If this involves a relationship that dishonors You, give them the courage to walk away, even if it hurts. If it involves a habit or addiction, break its grip and fill the void with more of Yourself. Remind them that Your yoke is easy and Your burden is light (Matthew 11:30), and that true joy is found in obedience, not rebellion.
Strengthen them to live as more than a conqueror through Christ (Romans 8:37), and surround them with godly community who will spur them on toward holiness. Let them know, deep in their spirit, that they are loved not because of what they do or don’t do, but because of what *You* have done on the cross.
We rebuked any spirit of condemnation or deception trying to keep them from full surrender. By the authority of Jesus’ name, we declare that the blood of Christ covers them, and they are *free indeed* (John 8:36).
May they walk in the light of Your presence today and always, for Your glory. In Jesus’ mighty and holy name we pray, Amen.

Friend, we also want to gently but urgently remind you: *salvation is found in no one else but Jesus*. If you have not yet surrendered your life to Him as Lord and Savior, we plead with you to do so today. The Bible says, *"If you will confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart, one believes resulting in righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made resulting in salvation"* (Romans 10:9-10). There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12). If you’d like to talk more about what it means to follow Jesus, we are here.
You are loved. You are not beyond redemption. Run to Him—*today*.
