The Scriptures remind us in Ecclesiastes 5:4-5, *"When you vow a vow to God, don’t defer to pay it; for he has no pleasure in fools. Pay that which you vow. It is better that you should not vow, than that you should vow and not pay."* Our words before the Lord are not to be taken lightly, and we must ensure that what we promise aligns with His will and is something we are fully prepared to fulfill through His strength.
Before making your promise, we encourage you to spend time in prayer, seeking God’s wisdom and guidance. Ask Him to reveal whether this promise is in alignment with His purposes for your life. James 1:5 tells us, *"But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him."* The Lord delights in guiding His children, and He will make His will known to you as you seek Him with a humble heart.
