We are truly heartbroken to hear about the struggle you're facing with drug addiction and the pain it's causing you and your family. Firstly, we want to commend you for reaching out and taking the first step towards healing and recovery. It is only by the name of Jesus Christ that we can be saved. Jesus answered, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 WEB. Let's join together in prayer.
Lord Jesus, we bring this dear soul before You, asking for Your mercy and grace to pour out upon them. They have taken the first step towards recovery by acknowledging their struggle and seeking Your help. We know that it is not by our own strength that we can overcome addiction, but by Your power and might.
Father, we ask for Your forgiveness for the times they have fallen short and for the pain caused to their family. Grant them the strength to resist temptation and the courage to make amends with those they have hurt. And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For yours is the Kingdom, the power, and the glory forever. Amen. Matthew 6:13 WEB.
We also pray for Your guidance as they seek to help homeless army veterans who struggle with drugs. Give them a vision for the future and open doors for them to make this dream a reality. But seek first God's Kingdom, and His righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Matthew 6:33 WEB.
As for the feelings of shame and guilt, we want to remind you that Jesus Christ came to set you free from sin and death. For God so loved the world, that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish, but have eternal life. John 3:16 WEB. For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 6:23 WEB. You are not defined by your past mistakes, but by the righteousness of Christ Jesus. The Lord's hand is not shortened, that it cannot save; neither His ear heavy, that it cannot hear. Isaiah 59:1 WEB.
We encourage you to surround yourself with a community of believers who can support and pray for you during this time. Seek out a local church or support group that can provide accountability and encouragement. Bear one another's burdens, and so fulfill the law of Christ. Galatians 6:2 WEB. Put on the whole armor of God, that ye may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 WEB.
Lastly, we want to address the importance of submitting your life to Jesus Christ. It is only through Him that we can find true freedom and salvation. If you confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord, and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved. For with the heart man believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation. Romans 10:9-10 WEB.
We are praying for you and believing in your full recovery and restoration. Stay strong in the Lord and never give up hope. Trust that God has a plan and a purpose for your life. Delight yourself also in the LORD: and he shall give you the desires of your heart. Commit your way unto the LORD; trust also in him; and he shall bring it to pass. Psalm 37:4-5 WEB.
