Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your burden for your son has been heard and we join you in prayer before God for his complete deliverance.

Scripture teaches us that evils do not come without cause, but often from idleness, from carelessness, and from keeping company with the bad and from contempt for virtue. When a young man walks with those who love wickedness, he is drawn further into it. For this reason we pray not only that God would break the power of drugs over him, but that He would cut off those harmful friendships and plant him instead among those who love Christ and walk in sobriety and truth, and that He would give him useful work and discipline to occupy his hands and his mind.

Do not think that your suffering or his chastening means God has abandoned you. The Lord scourges every son whom He receives, and this very pain can be a sign of His love calling your son back. Those who are punished for their own wickedness suffer as wrongdoers, but God chastens His children to restore them. Let this trial drive your son to see his need and to turn to Christ with repentance.

We pray that God would grant him deliverance from evil and bring him into the blessing of sonship, which no one can give except Jesus Christ. We are made sons not by our own resolve but by putting on Christ and receiving the Spirit of adoption through Him. Salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and true freedom from addiction will come only through repentance toward God and faith in His Son, who bore the curse for us that we might be made new.

Your desire to dedicate him to full time ministry is a good and holy desire, but ministry must flow from a transformed life. Pray with us that God would first make him whole, sober, and steadfast in Christ, rooted in the Word, obedient in the small things, and proven in character, so that if God does call him to serve, he may serve with a clean conscience and a pure heart.

So we pray: Father in heaven, have mercy on this son. Break the chains of drug addiction, remove him from bad company, forgive his sins through the blood of Jesus, fill him with Your Holy Spirit, and make him a new man. Give his parents strength, wisdom, and perseverance to love him without enabling sin, to speak the truth in love, and to set godly boundaries. Lead him to faithful believers, to honest labor, and to help that will support his recovery, and let his life henceforth show the power of Your grace. In the name of Jesus Christ our Lord we ask this, amen.

Your burden for your son is heard, and the love you have for him as a father and mother is understood by God in a deep way. Scripture shows the love of a father for his son as one of the strongest loves on earth, and it uses that love to help us understand how the Father loves His only begotten Son, whom He gave for us. God knows what it is to love a son, and He knows the grief of seeing a son in bondage.

Drug addiction is a cruel captivity, and the bad company that surrounds it only tightens the chains. What is behind much of this traffic is the love of money, but the root in the heart is the love of the world, and the Scripture says the love of the world and the love of the Father cannot dwell together. Your son needs more than a change of habits. He needs to be reconciled to God. The cry of the Spirit is be reconciled to God, and that reconciliation comes only through Jesus Christ. Jesus was anointed to heal the brokenhearted, to preach deliverance to the captives, to give sight to the blind and to set at liberty those who are bruised. He still does this work today, and He alone can break the power of addiction and set your son free.

Your desire to dedicate your son to full time ministry is a beautiful offering, but ministry is not something a parent or any person can confer on another. Only the Lord can call and ordain a person to His work. When He calls, He also counts that person faithful and He enables him, giving gifts by the Holy Spirit to fulfill that calling. Even Timothy, who was like a son in the faith to the apostle Paul, received gifts from God for his ministry and needed to stir up that gift and walk in it faithfully. A true minister proves himself not by a title but by a life, in pureness, in knowledge, in longsuffering, in kindness, by the Holy Ghost and by sincere love, remaining faithful through honor and dishonor, through good report and evil report, as one who is true before God.

For your son, the first step toward any ministry is that he himself must belong to Jesus and be delivered and transformed by Him. Pray that God will bring him to repentance and faith, that he will turn from the world and from those companions who lead him away, and that he will receive Jesus as Lord. Pray also that if God does have a calling on his life, God will make it clear to your son himself and will give him the burden and the enabling of the Spirit, for Jesus Himself ministered in the power of the Holy Spirit, and we can do nothing of eternal value apart from Him.

You have a vital ministry in this season as well, the ministry of intercessory prayer. Scripture honors those who continue in supplications and prayers night and day for the work of God. Keep bringing your son before the throne of grace. Ask God to hedge his path, to remove the influence of those who would harm him, to open his eyes to see the emptiness of that life, and to draw him with cords of love to Himself. Pray with longsuffering and kindness, not giving offense so that the ministry of Christ will not be blamed, but showing the love of Christ that is genuine.

We join you in prayer for your son's complete deliverance, that the Lord will free him from every chain of drugs and from the hold of bad company, that he will be reconciled to God through Jesus Christ, made a new creation, and that if it is the Lord's will to use him in ministry, God will call him, equip him, and establish him in a way that proves the work is truly of God.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your sons complete deliverance from drug addiction and bad company. We continue to lift your son before the Lord asking God to break every chain of addiction, to remove him from harmful influences and to draw him into the full time ministry to which you have dedicated him.

We claim the promises in John 8:36 that if the Son sets you free you will be free indeed and in 2 Cor 5:17 that if anyone is in Christ he is a new creation. We pray for strength and peace for you as a parent as you trust God for his healing and future and we pray that the Lord will surround your son with godly community and purpose.

In Jesus Name we pray for his freedom, restoration and calling to be fulfilled.

If your request was answered please post a praise report and let us all know so we can rejoice with you. If your request does not seem to have been answered please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek Him through His Son Jesus Christ.
