My son, ###'s complete deliverance from drug addiction

My son, ### is addicted to drugs and bad company since his ### year. Now he is ### years old. I am dedicating my son to full time ministry

We hear the burden of your heart for your son and we stand with you in prayer for his complete deliverance and restoration. To see a child bound by drug addiction and bad company for so many years is a deep sorrow, and we honor your faithful love and your desire to dedicate him to the Lord for full time ministry. That dedication is a beautiful offering to God, and we pray that your son himself will come to willingly surrender his life to Christ.

The Bible teaches that our bodies are the temple of the Holy Spirit and we are called to honor God with them, as it is written Do you not know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's 1 Corinthians 6:19-20. Drug addiction defiles that temple and enslaves the soul, but Jesus Christ came to set the captives free. So it is written If therefore the Son makes you free, you will be free indeed John 8:36. We rebuke the spirit of addiction and the bondage that has held your son, for sin shall not have dominion over those who are in Christ Romans 6:14.

We also must address the bad company, for Scripture warns us plainly Do not be deceived. Evil companionships corrupt good morals 1 Corinthians 15:33. The enemy uses ungodly friendships to pull a heart further from truth and deeper into destruction. We pray that God will sever those harmful ties and surround your son with godly men who will speak truth and hold him accountable.

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we want to gently remind you that it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and that deliverance truly comes. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If your son has not yet truly believed, we pray that he will confess with his mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in his heart that God raised him from the dead, for with that faith he will be saved Romans 10:9. Our prayers are offered in that mighty name alone, and your dedication of him to ministry will only bear fruit if he himself is born again, for if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new 2 Corinthians 5:17.

We encourage you to continue in fervent, unwavering prayer, for the effective, earnest prayer of a righteous man is powerfully effective James 5:16. Do not grow weary. Set loving but firm boundaries, seek the help of a Bible believing church, pastoral counsel and godly accountability for your son, and fast as the Lord leads. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control 2 Timothy 1:7, and that self-control is what the Holy Spirit can restore in your son as he walks free.

We pray together now.

Father in heaven, we come before Your throne in the precious name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this beloved son to You. Lord, You see the years of bondage, the power of addiction, and the influence of bad company. We ask for Your mercy and Your delivering power to break every chain that binds him. Convict his heart of sin, draw him to repentance, and reveal Jesus to him as his Savior and Deliverer. Wash him in the blood of Christ, cleanse his body and mind, and fill him with Your Holy Spirit. Remove every ungodly relationship from his life and bring godly brothers and mentors who will walk with him in truth. Heal the pain of this family, give this parent strength, peace and hope while waiting on You, and let this son be transformed into a new creation who will indeed serve You all the days of his life. We claim Your promise Fear not, for I am with you. Do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10. Let his life become a testimony of Your redeeming grace. In Jesus mighty name we pray, amen.

We are so grateful you shared this with us. Watching a son struggle with drugs and the pull of bad company year after year is heartbreaking, and we hear how much love and hope you carry for him as you dedicate him to the Lord's service.

We know addiction can feel so entangling. It often becomes a way to escape pain or pressure, and over time it can take control in a way that goes beyond simple willpower. That is why steady, caring support matters so much alongside prayer. Recovery is not a journey anyone walks alone, and we have seen how much it helps to have wise people walking alongside both the one struggling and the family who loves him.

If you have not already, we would gently encourage you to reach out to a trusted pastor and to a professional who works with addictions for guidance on next steps for your son, as well as support for you as his parent. A local support community can also be a steady anchor in the hard days.

Father, we lift this dear son to You in Jesus' name. Please protect him, draw him close, and give him strength to turn toward help. Give his parent wisdom, peace and endurance, and surround this family with people who will support them well. Lead them step by step according to Your will. Amen.

Am prayibg the mercy and conpassion of Christ that comes from suffering likewise and also the comfort that comes along with prayibg his nsme. May heavenly Father and Lord Yeshua do it. Only be steady in lrayer and wirship for him. May God do it too. We give thanks to you Father God. Lord Yeshuas name amen.

Your sorrowful prayer for your son has been heard, and it is right that you bring this great burden to the throne of grace, for there is no other place where true deliverance is to be found.

Do not think that God has forgotten you or your son, though this trial has lain upon you for many years. Zion saith, My God hath forgotten me, but the Lord answers, Can a woman forget her sucking child, that she should not have compassion on the son of her womb. Yea, they may forget, yet will I not forget thee. The years of his bondage to drugs and to bad company are known to the Lord, and He is able to make this hour the very clock of mercy to strike for his deliverance, for the time had come thus had the eternal purpose of Jehovah decreed it.

Know this, that deliverance from the power of darkness is as much the work of God as deliverance from the guilt of sin. Where we look for justification, there must we also look for sanctification, for as we are justified through Jesus Christ, we must also expect to receive sanctification from a heavenly source. He has delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of God's dear Son. If the Son shall make you free, you shall be free indeed. This deliverance came when the Lamb was slain, for God has not only invented a way of deliverance, but He has found a ransom. The prisoner is ready to go down to the pit, but there comes undeserved deliverance, for the King's own Son has borne the penalty of all his iniquities. God saith, I have found a ransom. Nobody would have thought of that way of the deliverance of a sinner from the pit of hell through a ransom if God had not thought of it.

You do well to feel the rod, for what son is he whom the father chastens not. As many as I love, I rebuke and chasten. There is not a more profitable instrument in all God's house than the rod. God had one Son without sin, but He never had a son without sorrow, and He never will while the world stands. Let this affliction therefore drive you and your son to Christ alone, for salvation is through Jesus Christ alone, and there is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved.

Concerning your dedication of your son to full time ministry, this is a holy desire when it is offered as gratitude for deliverance and not as a bargain to obtain it. If the Lord brings him forth, it must be He who brings him forth, and then shall he live and declare the works of the Lord. True ministry is the ministry of gratitude, voluntarily rendered by those whom Christ has healed and set free, that they may serve Him in holiness. Pray therefore first for his new birth, that he may be delivered from sin and made a new creature in Christ, for without this no ministry is acceptable. If God in mercy grants him freedom, let him then be taught to walk in that freedom, to forsake the bad company which has ensnared him, and to prove his calling by a life of sobriety and obedience in the power of the Holy Spirit.

Let us pray together.

O Lord God, who gave Thine own dear Son to be a ransom for sinners, look in tender pity upon this son who is bound in the power of darkness and the chains of drug addiction. Thou hast said, I have found a ransom, and we plead that precious blood now. Deliver him effectually, bring him forth from his prison by a miracle of grace, break the power of sin and the snare of evil companions, and translate him into the kingdom of Thy dear Son. Make him free indeed, that he may abhor the sin that once enslaved him and find no pleasure in it. Grant to his parent comfort and unwavering faith, and if it be Thy will, raise up this son to live and to declare Thy works, and to serve Thee in true and holy ministry, to Thy praise alone. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour. Amen.
