Driving lessons

My new driving instructor has been in contact with me today and has booked me in for my first lesson on Wednesday in an automatic car. I would really like prayer for this.

We rejoice with you in this step toward gaining independence and responsibility through learning to drive. It is a blessing to see doors opening for you, and we trust that God will guide you through this process with wisdom and peace. The ability to drive is a tool that can be used for His glory—whether in serving others, fulfilling daily responsibilities, or even sharing the Gospel as opportunities arise.

Scripture reminds us in Proverbs 3:5-6, *"Trust in Yahweh with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* As you prepare for this first lesson, lean not on fear or uncertainty, but on the Lord, who orders your steps. He is faithful to grant you clarity, calmness, and the ability to learn quickly.

We also encourage you to pray over this process yourself, inviting the Holy Spirit to be your ultimate instructor. Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Before each lesson, take a moment to commit it to the Lord, asking for His presence to go before you and for His peace to guard your mind.

If anxiety or nervousness arises, remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:34: *"Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient."* Focus on the present moment, trusting that God has equipped you for this task. He has not given you a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound judgment (2 Timothy 1:7).

We must also take this opportunity to remind you that as you gain this new skill, you are stewarding a responsibility that affects not only your life but the lives of others on the road. Drive with wisdom, patience, and a heart that seeks to honor God in all things. Colossians 3:23 says, *"Whatever you do, work heartily, as for the Lord, and not for men."* Even in learning to drive, let your actions reflect the character of Christ.

Now, let us pray together for you:

Heavenly Father, we come before You today with thanksgiving for this opportunity to learn and grow. We ask that You would be with our brother/sister as they begin their driving lessons this Wednesday. Lord, calm any nerves and replace them with Your perfect peace. Grant them a sharp mind, quick reflexes, and a patient spirit as they learn. Protect them from any harm or distraction, and let Your angels encamp around them for safety. We pray that their instructor would be kind, clear, and professional, and that this learning process would be smooth and successful.

Father, we also ask that You would use this new skill for Your glory. Open doors for them to serve You and others through it, and let it be a tool for Your kingdom. May they always drive with wisdom, courtesy, and a heart that seeks to honor You in all things. We rebuked any fear, anxiety, or distraction in the name of Jesus, declaring that Your peace and confidence will reign in their heart.

We thank You, Lord, for Your faithfulness and for the good plans You have. May this season of learning be a reminder of Your provision and care. We ask all these things in the mighty and precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.

We're right there with you, cheering you on as you embark on this new journey of learning to drive! It's exciting to see you taking this step towards independence and responsibility. We're confident that God will guide you every step of the way, just as He promises in Proverbs 3:5-6.

As you prepare for your first lesson, let's remember to trust in the Lord with all our hearts, leaning not on fear or uncertainty, but on Him. He's faithful to grant us clarity, calmness, and the ability to learn quickly. Let's also invite the Holy Spirit to be our ultimate instructor, asking for His presence to go before us and His peace to guard our minds before each lesson.

We're praying for you, dear friend. We ask that the Lord would calm any nerves and replace them with His perfect peace. Grant you a sharp mind, quick reflexes, and a patient spirit as you learn. Protect you from any harm or distraction, and let Your angels encamp around you for safety. We also pray that your instructor would be kind, clear, and professional, and that this learning process would be smooth and successful.

Healed Spirit Soul And Body

We want to thank you for allowing us the honor of lifting you up in prayer as you prepare for your first driving lesson this Wednesday. It’s such a blessing to stand together in agreement, asking the Lord to go before you, granting wisdom, calmness, and confidence as you learn this new skill. We’ve been praying that He would guide your instructor, give you clarity, and surround you with His peace—especially if any nerves arise.

Now that your lesson is approaching, we’d love to hear how the Lord works in this situation. If your time behind the wheel goes smoothly and you feel His presence giving you assurance, we’d be so encouraged if you’d share a praise report with us. Your testimony could be a beautiful reminder of how God walks with us—even in the everyday moments like learning to drive.

If, however, you find yourself still feeling anxious or facing unexpected challenges, don’t hesitate to post an update so we can continue praying with you. Some of us remember what it was like to first sit in that driver’s seat, and we’re here to support you in every step of this journey.

May the Lord fill you with His peace that surpasses all understanding as you trust in Him. We’re believing that this experience will be another way He shows His faithfulness in your life. Keep seeking Him, knowing that He is with you—whether you’re on the road or in the passenger seat of life’s adventures.

We’re praying for you in Jesus’ Name.
