Dreams from Holy Spirit While Sleeping, Job 33:12-17; Matt 2:12, Prophecy, Joel 2:28, Numb 12:6, Acts 16:9 Father, we come as little children in faith, contrary to all we see and hear, and thank You, "You are able to save forever those who come to God through Jesus, because He lives to make intercession for us," Heb 7:25, c.f. Rom 8:34.

Heavenly Father, thank You for speaking and giving us ability to understand You, Eph 1:17. We ask for this husband and wife wife, You give dream and counsel, as it is written in Job 33:14, "For God does speak—now one way, now another—though no one perceives it. 15 In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on people, as they slumber in their beds, 16 He may speak in their ears and terrify them with warnings, 17 to turn them from wrongdoing and keep them from pride, 18 to preserve them from the pit, their lives from perishing by the sword." Again, as with the affairs concerning our father, Abraham, Gen 20:3, like him we are fully persuaded You are able to fulfill what You promise, Rom 4:21. Pour out Your Holy Spirit on her, as prophesied in in Joel 2:28, “And afterward, I will pour out my Spirit on all people. Your sons and daughters will prophesy, your old will dream dreams, your youth will see visions. 29 Even on my servants, both men and women, I will pour out my Spirit in those days," Joel 2:28-29, c.f. Acts 2:17-18. Father, with humble confidence, give her, them, us dreams and visions underlining your will for us in Christ Jesus, as You have done from ancient times on those saved Matt 1:20, Matt 2:12, and unsaved alike, Gen 20:3, Gen 31:24, Dan 2:1, Dan 4:5, until present, Acts 19:6, and You will continue to though the future, Heb 13:8. Your arm is not too short, Num 11:23, especially to save, Isa 50:2, Isa 59:1.

Again, as little children, "we know You can do all things,"Job 42:2, That "nothing shall be impossible with God," Luke 1:27, "The things impossible with man are possible with God," Mark 10:27. Keep her, him, and us from temptation, sin, evil, wrongdoing, lies, fear, evil people, deception, and the evil one, Lk 11:4, 1 Cor 8:1, Zeph 3:13, 2 Cor 13:7, 2 Cor 11:6, 2 Tim 3:5, 2 Tim 3:13, Tit 1:16, 2 Thes 3:2, Matt 24:4, Rev 12:9, Matt 6:13, John 17:15, 2 Thes 3:3. We join you in this beautiful childlike faith and we agree together with you for this husband and wife that our Father would speak clearly and give understanding by His Spirit.

We love your heart to believe God still speaks in dreams and visions, for Scripture shows us this is so. For God speaks once, yes twice, though man pays no attention. In a dream, in a vision of the night, when deep sleep falls on men, in slumbering on the bed; then he opens the ears of men, and seals their instruction, that he may withdraw man from his purpose, and hide pride from man Job 33:14-17. And He said, Hear now my words. If there is a prophet among you, I, Yahweh, will make myself known to him in a vision. I will speak with him in a dream Num 12:6. We see this fulfilled when Being warned in a dream not to return to Herod, they withdrew to their own country another way Matt 2:12, and as you noted with Abimelech in Gen 20:3 and with Laban in Gen 31:24, and we hold fast to the promise It will happen afterward, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh; and your sons and your daughters will prophesy. Your old men will dream dreams. Your young men will see visions Joel 2:28, which was poured out at Pentecost as it is written It will be in the last days, says God, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh. We also gently encourage and counsel that while we ask for dreams and visions, we must always test what we receive and hold Scripture as our final and sufficient authority. The Holy Spirit will never contradict the written Word, for All Scripture is God-breathed and is useful for teaching, for reproof, for correction, and for training in righteousness, that the man of God may be complete, thoroughly equipped for every good work 2 Tim 3:16-17. And we are taught Beloved, don't believe every spirit, but test the spirits, whether they are of God, because many false prophets have gone out into the world 1 John 4:1. Dreams from God will align with His character, will turn us from wrongdoing and pride, will preserve us from the pit, and will always exalt Jesus Christ, through whom alone we have access to the Father, for Jesus said I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6. We rejoice that you have come through Jesus, for Therefore he is also able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, seeing that he lives forever to make intercession for them Heb 7:25.

We praise God for this marriage and we pray God will strengthen this husband and wife in unity, in holiness, and in discernment as they seek Him together.

We pray together, Father in heaven, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ Your Son, thanking You that You are the God who speaks and the God who gives a spirit of wisdom and revelation in the knowledge of Him Eph 1:17. We ask that You would pour out Your Spirit upon this husband and wife and upon us, and if it is Your will, speak to them in dreams and visions of the night to give counsel, warning, comfort and direction that turns them from wrongdoing and keeps them from pride, to preserve them from the pit. Give them ears to hear and hearts to perceive what You are saying, and give them wisdom to test all things against Your Word. Keep them from temptation, from deception, from lies and fear and from the evil one, for You are faithful, who will establish them and guard them from the evil one 2 Thes 3:3. Deliver them from evil Matt 6:13 and keep them in Your truth. We ask that You would make Your will for them in Christ Jesus abundantly clear, whether through a dream, through Your Word, through Your Spirit's still small voice, or through godly counsel, and that they would walk in obedience and humility. We thank You in advance that You hear us when we ask according to Your will, for we know that nothing shall be impossible with God Luke 1:37 and The things which are impossible with men are possible with God Luke 18:27. We trust You to do all things well and to keep this marriage strong and Christ centered all the days of their lives. We ask all this in the mighty and saving name of Jesus, Amen.

We were moved by the childlike trust in your prayer for this husband and wife, asking God to make His will clear as they sleep. That desire to be led and kept from wrong paths is beautiful, and we join you in it.

We believe the Holy Spirit is our Counselor and Helper, who guides us into truth and forms Christlike character in us. One way we have learned to stay grounded when seeking guidance through dreams is to hold everything gently before the Lord and before Scripture, since the Spirit will not lead contrary to God's Word, and to test impressions with mature believers who know and love you both. Dreams can encourage or prompt prayer, but lasting direction usually comes more clearly through steady walking with God together.

A simple next step that may help them is to take a few minutes together in the morning to pray and briefly note what was on their hearts overnight, then bring those notes to Scripture and to a trusted pastor or mentor for wisdom, rather than trying to interpret alone.

Father, we thank You for Your care for this couple and for the one praying for them. Give them restful sleep, clear minds, protection from confusion and fear, and growing wisdom to know Your will and follow Jesus faithfully. Draw them closer to each other and to You each day. In Jesus' name, amen.
