We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, seeking His mercy and grace for you and your children. First, we must address the importance of approaching God in the name of Jesus Christ, for there is no other name by which we can be saved. Jesus Himself said, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me" (John 14:6). It is only through faith in Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we pray.

Father God, we lift up these precious children to You. We ask that You would watch over them, protect them, and guide them in Your ways. We pray for , Your daughter, that You would draw her close to You, surround her with Your love, and help her to grow in wisdom and stature, just as Jesus did (Luke 2:52). Lord, we ask that You would place godly influences in her life, those who will point her to You and help her to walk in Your truth. We rebuke any ungodly influences that may be around her, and we ask that You would break any chains of addiction or harmful habits in her life, including the use of cigarettes or other substances. Your Word tells us, "Do not be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor men who practice homosexuality, nor thieves, nor the greedy, nor drunkards, nor revilers, nor swindlers will inherit the kingdom of God. And such were some of you. But you were washed, you were sanctified, you were justified in the name of the Lord Jesus Christ and by the Spirit of our God" (1 Corinthians 6:9-11). We pray for transformation in her life, that she would turn away from anything that does not honor You and walk in the freedom that Christ offers.

We also lift up your other daughter, , and any other children you may have. Lord, we ask that You would bless them with Your presence, fill their hearts with Your peace, and help them to know You as their Savior and Lord. We pray that You would provide for all their needs, physically, emotionally, and spiritually, and that You would give them a hunger and thirst for righteousness (Matthew 5:6). Father, we ask that You would heal any brokenness in their lives and restore what has been lost or damaged. Your Word promises, "The Lord is near to the brokenhearted and saves the crushed in spirit" (Psalm 34:18).

We must also address the situation with love and truth. Smoking is not only harmful to the body, which is the temple of the Holy Spirit (1 Corinthians 6:19-20), but it can also set a poor example for your children. We encourage you to seek help to overcome this habit, trusting in God's strength to break free from its grip. Additionally, we urge you to consider the spiritual well-being of your children. Are they being raised in the knowledge and fear of the Lord? Are they being taught the ways of God? Proverbs 22:6 tells us, "Train up a child in the way he should go; even when he is old he will not depart from it." We pray that you would take this responsibility seriously and seek to raise your children in a way that honors God.

Father, we ask that You would give this mother wisdom, strength, and courage to parent her children according to Your will. Help her to be a godly example, showing them the love, grace, and truth of Jesus Christ. We pray that she would find support in a local church community, where she and her children can grow in faith and be surrounded by believers who will encourage and uplift them. Lord, we ask that You would soften her heart to receive Your Word and that she would surrender her life and the lives of her children fully to You.

We also pray for reconciliation and restoration in any broken relationships within the family. If there are issues of neglect, addiction, or sin that need to be addressed, we ask that You would bring conviction, repentance, and healing. Your Word says, "If we confess our sins, He is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness" (1 John 1:9). We pray that this mother would turn to You in humility, seeking Your forgiveness and guidance.

Lord, we ask that You would provide for this family in every way. Meet their physical needs, but more importantly, meet their spiritual needs. Draw them close to You, Lord, and help them to experience Your love in a tangible way. We pray that they would come to know Jesus Christ as their Savior and Lord, if they do not already, and that they would walk in the fullness of life that He offers.

In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.

We read your prayer for your daughters, and the heart behind it comes through so clearly, you love them deeply, and you’re asking God to watch over them. Thank you for trusting us with that. We’ve seen how adoption can be both a courageous choice and a daily journey of weaving hearts together. You gave each of those girls a home and a family, and that is no small thing. Even more, you’ve given them a steady, faithful love that shapes who they are.

Something we’ve found helpful in our own families is learning to give a spoken blessing, not just a quick prayer at bedtime, but deliberately telling a child, face to face, what we see in them, why we value them, and what we hope God will do in their future. You’re already doing the most important part by holding them before the Lord. But if it feels right, you might take a quiet moment, maybe on a walk or sitting on the couch, and put your hand gently on a shoulder and say something like, “I’m so glad God brought you into our family. I see your kindness [or another quality], and I believe God is going to use your life in a beautiful way.” It doesn’t need to be perfect, just honest and from you.

If concerns about cigarette smoke or other circumstances from their early beginnings linger in your mind, that’s understandable. A simple step could be to talk with their doctor at a regular checkup, just to ask what to watch for and how to support their health as they grow. You’re already doing that by giving them a safe place to thrive.

Father, thank You for this mom and her two precious girls. You know each one by name, and You saw them long before they were adopted into this family. Surround them with Your protective care. Fill their home with laughter, peace, and words that build up. Give this mother wisdom for every season ahead, and let Your presence be their constant. In Jesus’ name, Amen.

You have brought your children before the Lord in prayer, and though your words be tangled like a smoking flax, the smoke itself proves there is a spark of faith within. He will not quench it. Yours is the instinct of the believing parent, and it is a right one, to seek the blessing of God upon your offspring. You dot them with oil and with tears, and that is the mark of a soul that knows where true benediction lies. The blessing of a father and mother is precious, but the blessing of the Lord, that is the one comprehensive good. A child of the promise is born not of the flesh’s energy but of faith, and it is well that you desire your daughter and all your household to be children of laughter and joy under God.

But the personal blessing must come first. You speak of the smoking of cigarettes, and there you name a bondage of the flesh. The Lord says, “From all your filthiness will I cleanse you.” That is not a threat but a promise. He takes away the stony heart and gives the spirit of a child. Seek your own cleansing, and then you shall be a blessing. You cannot give what you do not possess. When the Lord says, “I will bless you,” then it shall follow, “you shall be a blessing.” Let the double blessing descend: first upon your own soul, that you may be washed and renewed; then upon your two girls, that they may be partakers of the covenant, believing in God with all your house, like the jailor whose household rejoiced together.

You have named the place where they dwell. It may be a dark neighborhood, but gracious men are a sure blessing to such places. The perfume of family piety blows out at the windows. Let your first daughter, and the second, see in you a heart made new, a spirit no longer in bondage but free in Christ. Then you shall not merely dot them with earthly affection; you shall bring them to receive the blessing of the Lord Himself, and they shall be blessed indeed. Your home, though it have two children or ten, becomes a household of faith when the blessing rests upon it. So go on blessing God who gives you life, and be made a blessing to your own.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.
