Doctors

Disciple of Prayer
I don't trust doctors as have had bad outcomes and because of all my health problems I have no choice but to, I have prayed about it, and seems to be my only option, the last time I trusted them I ended up back in the hospital because they gave me wrong medicine, ended up just walking out.

We understand your deep distrust of doctors, and we grieve with you over the painful experiences you’ve endured—especially when seeking help only led to more harm. It is heartbreaking when those meant to heal instead cause suffering, and we acknowledge how this has shaken your faith in medical care. Yet we also see how the Lord has sustained you even in these trials, and we want to lift you up in prayer for wisdom, protection, and divine intervention over your health.

The Scriptures remind us that God is our ultimate Healer and the One who holds our lives in His hands. In Jeremiah 30:17, He declares, *"For I will restore health to you, and I will heal you of your wounds,"* and in Psalm 103:2-3, we’re told to *"praise the Lord, my soul, and don’t forget all his benefits—who forgives all your iniquities, who heals all your diseases."* While doctors can be instruments in God’s hands, our trust must first and foremost be in Him. Proverbs 3:5-6 urges us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* This doesn’t mean blindly trusting flawed human systems, but it does mean seeking the Lord’s guidance even in the midst of our fear and hesitation.

At the same time, we must also recognize that medicine, when practiced ethically and carefully, can be a gift from God. Luke, the beloved physician and companion of Paul, is an example of how God uses medical knowledge for His purposes (Colossians 4:14). However, this doesn’t negate the reality of medical errors, negligence, or even malice—sin has corrupted every human institution, including healthcare. Your caution is not without merit, and we pray the Lord grants you discernment to navigate this difficult path. Ask Him to lead you to doctors who are competent, compassionate, and aligned with His will for your healing. As 1 Corinthians 10:31 reminds us, *"Whether therefore you eat, or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God."* This includes how you steward your health and the decisions you make regarding medical care.

We also encourage you to seek the Lord’s peace in this season. Anxiety and fear can easily take root when we feel forced into situations we distrust, but Philippians 4:6-7 tells us, *"In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God. And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your thoughts in Christ Jesus."* Bring your fears before Him honestly, and ask Him to replace them with His perfect peace. If possible, consider bringing a trusted believer with you to appointments—someone who can pray with you, take notes, and advocate for you when you feel overwhelmed. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 reminds us, *"Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn’t have another to lift him up."*

As for the wrong medication that led to your hospitalization, we rebuke the spirit of error, negligence, and harm that has operated in your past medical experiences. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17) and that the Lord will expose any deception or incompetence that could bring you further harm. We pray for divine protection over every prescription, every diagnosis, and every treatment plan. May the Lord place a hedge of angels around you in every medical setting, giving you wisdom to ask the right questions and the courage to walk away if something doesn’t align with His will for your body.

If you haven’t already, we also encourage you to seek the Lord for His healing touch apart from medical intervention. James 5:14-15 says, *"Is any among you sick? Let him call for the elders of the assembly, and let them pray over him, anointing him with oil in the name of the Lord, and the prayer of faith will heal him who is sick, and the Lord will raise him up. If he has committed sins, he will be forgiven."* There is power in the corporate prayer of believers, and we urge you to invite mature Christians in your life to pray over you, laying hands on you in the name of Jesus. Never underestimate the Lord’s ability to heal supernaturally—He is the same yesterday, today, and forever (Hebrews 13:8).

Lastly, we want to address the deeper spiritual battle that may be at play. Sickness and medical struggles can sometimes be tied to spiritual oppression, generational curses, or unconfessed sin. We don’t say this to imply that your suffering is your fault, but rather to encourage you to examine your life before the Lord and invite Him to reveal anything that needs to be brought into the light. Psalm 139:23-24 says, *"Search me, God, and know my heart. Try me, and know my thoughts. See if there is any wicked way in me, and lead me in the everlasting way."* If there is any area of bitterness, unforgiveness (even toward doctors or medical systems), or sin that needs repentance, we urge you to surrender it to Jesus. Unforgiveness can be a major stronghold that hinders healing (Mark 11:25), and we pray the Lord gives you the grace to release any resentment so His healing power can flow freely in your life.

**Our Prayer for You:**

Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of our brother/sister who is walking through such a difficult season of distrust, pain, and forced reliance on a system that has failed them. Lord, You see their heart—the fear, the frustration, and the deep desire for healing. We ask that You, the Great Physician, would stretch out Your hand and touch their body with Your healing power. Restore what has been broken, reverse what has been damaged, and bring alignment to every system in their body that is not functioning as You designed.

Lord, we pray for divine wisdom and discernment as they navigate medical care. Expose any deception, incompetence, or harm that the enemy may try to bring through doctors or treatments. Surround them with medical professionals who are not only skilled but also guided by Your hand—those who will listen, who will act with integrity, and who will treat them with the dignity they deserve as Your child. Give them the courage to speak up, to ask questions, and to walk away if something doesn’t align with Your will.

Father, we also pray for supernatural peace to guard their heart and mind. Cast out all fear, anxiety, and trauma from past medical experiences. Let them walk in the confidence that You are with them, that You are for them, and that You will never leave them nor forsake them (Deuteronomy 31:6). If there is any spiritual stronghold—bitterness, unforgiveness, or generational curse—we ask that You reveal it and break its power in Jesus’ name. Cleanse them from every sin, known and unknown, and fill them with Your Holy Spirit, who is the Spirit of healing and wholeness.

Lord, we declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17). We bind every spirit of error, harm, and negligence that has operated in their medical care, and we loose Your angels to minister to them, to protect them, and to guide them to the right decisions. If it is Your will, Lord, we ask for complete and total healing—supernatural restoration that leaves no room for doubt that You are the God who heals. But even if the healing comes through medical means, we pray that You would be glorified in it, that every doctor’s hand would be guided by You, and that every treatment would align with Your perfect plan.

Finally, Father, we ask that You would surround them with a community of believers who will stand in the gap for them, who will pray over them, and who will support them in this season. Let them not walk this path alone, but let them feel the strength and encouragement of Your body, the Church.

We pray all these things in the mighty and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Healer, our Provider, and our Protector. Amen.

We're right there with you, friend. It's tough trusting doctors after what you've been through, and we understand why you feel the way you do. We believe in a God who sees, who cares, and who is more than able to turn this situation around for your good. Keep trusting in Him, even when it's hard. You're not alone in this. We're standing with you, praying for you, and believing with you for a turnaround. Keep us posted, okay? Let's walk this path together. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
