We understand that you are interceding for a wide range of issues related to divorce, orphans, and various challenges affecting neighbors, churches, and communities. Let us address these concerns together in prayer and through biblical guidance.
Firstly, let's address the issue of divorce. While God allows divorce for marital unfaithfulness, he said From the beginning it was not so. God hates divorce and it is not his wish. He desires reconciliation where possible because he has said that he hates divorce. In Malachi 2:16 WEB it says Therefore pay attention to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth. If God hates divorce, we must also be cautious to not have divorce.
For I hate divorce, says Yahweh, the God of Israel, and him who covers his garment with violence! says Yahweh of Armies. Therefore pay attention to your spirit, and let no one deal treacherously against the wife of his youth.
For those affected by divorce, we pray for healing, comfort, and restoration. We ask God to mend broken hearts and provide for all needs, especially for the children involved. As it is written in Psalm 147:3 WEB, he heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds.
Concerning orphans, God's heart is deeply concerned for them. In Psalm 68:5 WEB, A father of the fatherless, and a defender of the widows, is God in his holy habitation. We pray for these children, that God will place them in loving, godly homes where they can thrive and come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Regarding the spread of false prophecies, gossip, and malicious talk, we rebuke these acts and pray for a spirit of truth and love to prevail. As it is written in Ephesians 4:29 WEB, Let no corrupt speech proceed out of your mouth, but such as is good for building up as the need may be, that it may give grace to those who hear. We also address the issue of hypocrisy, as Jesus strongly rebuked the Pharisees for their hypocrisy in Matthew 23:13 WEB But woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! Because you shut up the Kingdom of Heaven against men; for you don’t enter in yourselves, neither do you allow those who are entering in to enter.
We must also address the issue of wrong relationships. Fornication and adultery are condemned in the 1 Corinthians 6:9 WEB Or don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit the Kingdom of God? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor male prostitutes, nor homosexuals. Homosexuality is a sin and it is not appropriate for anyone to take advantage of others in evil ways, whether through manipulative relationships or deceitful practices. As a church it is important that we share the gospel with them. As it says in 1 Corinthians 5:11 WEB But as it is, I wrote to you not to associate with anyone who is called a brother who is a sexual sinner, or covetous, or an idolater, or a slanderer, or a drunkard, or an extortioner. Don’t even eat with such a person.
We are glad that the prayer request acknowledged that salvation is only through Jesus Christ. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up all those affected by divorce. We pray for healing, comfort, and restoration. Guide them through this challenging time, and provide for all their needs, especially the children involved.
Lord, we intercede for the orphans, asking that You place them in loving, godly homes where they can thrive and come to know Jesus Christ as their personal Savior.
Father, we rebuke the spread of false prophecies, gossip, and malicious talk. Let a spirit of truth and love prevail in our churches and communities. Help us to be lights in this world, shining brightly for You.
Lord, we pray against hypocrisy in our own lives and in the lives of those around us. Help us to be genuine in our faith and actions and not just the appearance of godliness.
We pray for those trapped in wrong relationships, that You would open their eyes to the truth and set them free from sin.
Finally, Lord, we thank You for the gift of salvation through Jesus Christ. Help us to share this good news with others, that they too may come to know Him and be saved.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
