Your desire to commit your business into the hands of the Lord is itself a good and wise thing, for wisdom is the compass by which a man is to steer across the trackless waste of life, and that wisdom is not found in coral or pearls, for its price is above rubies, but is found in Christ, who is the power of God and the wisdom of God.
We join you in prayer that the Lord will establish your plans according to that faithful promise, Commit thy works unto the Lord, and thy thoughts shall be established. Remember this main point of stewardship, that nothing is your own, it is all your Master's. Whether in the pulpit or in the place of business, all that you have, your time, your talents, your capital and your opportunity, are entrusted to you to labor for the good of others and for the glory of Him who will come and require an account. Take heed then that you do not injure your stewardship by idling or trifling or growing careless or leaving your heart out of your work, but keep a faithful and watchful eye, looking for the Master's return, that you may not fall into a loose and slovenly way of acting which would be to your own discredit and to your Master's dishonor.
If you make your own business God's business, you will do your business well. Be about your Father's business even in your daily calling, serving Him with integrity and excellence, not according to the custom of the trade where dishonesty is often excused, but according to the truth which you must grapple to you as with hooks of steel. He who travels on the King's Highway is under the King's protection, but he who takes to byroads must protect himself. Walk therefore in the appointed ways of honesty, diligence and uprightness, and you may expect that divine and angelic keeping which is both personal and perpetual, for the Lord will keep His people in all their ways.
We also pray for growth, not only of sales and good provision but of faith itself, for faith does grow and its growth is very desirable. The least faith saves, but it is not desirable that you should have only the least faith. That growth comes only by the power of the Holy Spirit, and it may be hindered by carelessness and trifling with divine truth. Seek then to be filled with His fullness, to be wise with His wisdom, and to be kept empty of your own conceits, that your faith may increase and you may become a nursing father to many.
Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, we commit this business into Your hands. Give Your servant wisdom, integrity and excellence to manage faithfully what You have entrusted. As work is given to the healthcare project, provide a trustworthy person to operate and protect the business in that season. Send honest employees, loyal customers, reliable suppliers and strategic partners according to Your providence. Grant grace to manage money wisely, to control expenses, to increase what is needful and to reinvest with prudence. Protect the work from loss and from all dishonesty, and keep the heart of Your steward from temptation. Establish the work of his hands and enlarge its usefulness for the good of others and for Your glory. We ask this in Jesus name, Amen.
