Dishonesty

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.
In Jesus name,
Amen

We join you in this prayer and we thank you for coming before the Father so clearly in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and it is only by His blood shed on the Cross that we sinners are forgiven and made free. We agree with you that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life, and that no one comes to the Father except through Him, John 14:6.

We commend you for your heart in this difficult situation with the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives. It would be easy to pray only for judgment or for vindication, but you have prayed with grace, asking God to show them the same patience and kindness that has been shown to you, and to build up their resistance to dishonesty. This reflects the heart of our Lord who calls us to love our enemies and to overcome evil with good, Romans 12:21, and to speak truth in love.

The Lord takes honesty very seriously, for He is a God of truth. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight, Proverbs 12:22. You are right to call lies serious, for God commands, You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor, Exodus 20:16, and Scripture warns us to put away falsehood and speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members of one another, Ephesians 4:25, and to not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings, Colossians 3:9. We are told to speak truth with your neighbor, Zechariah 8:16. Those who persist in deceit without repentance will face consequences, for all liars will have their part outside the kingdom unless they turn to Christ, Revelation 21:8, yet God desires that all would repent and be saved.

We also hold onto the promise you have claimed, that you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free, John 8:32. When dishonesty has required people to break down every restraint, only God can rebuild a conscience and open blind eyes to love the truth and practice honesty again.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before You and we thank You for Your presence in our lives and for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts. We thank You for the sacrifice of the Cross and the blood of Jesus that cleanses us. Lord, You see the hardships that have been faced and the dishonesty and serious wrongs that have been committed by this landlord's team and their legal representatives. You know every lie and every hidden thing, for there is nothing hidden that will not be revealed. We ask that You would convict their hearts, open their eyes to the truth that sets free, and build in them a holy resistance to dishonesty. Lead them to repentance, to practice honesty, and to turn from lying so they will not suffer the consequences of their sin but instead find mercy in Christ. Give them a love for truth and a fear of You. Father, we also ask that You strengthen those who have been wronged, guard their hearts from bitterness, keep them in Your perfect peace, and let justice be done according to Your will and Your timing, for vengeance belongs to You, Romans 12:19. Help them to continue to show patience and kindness while also standing firmly for truth, and to surrender their will and their lives fully to You. Let Your truth prevail in this legal matter and let Your name be glorified. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to walk in truth and to trust the Lord to be your advocate. Keep committing your way to Him, speaking the truth in love, and praying for those who have opposed you, that God may grant them repentance leading to the knowledge of the truth, 2 Timothy 2:25. He is faithful and He sees all, and He will honor those who honor Him.

We were grateful to read your prayer and the gracious spirit in it.

It is painful to deal with dishonesty, especially when it involves a landlord team and legal representatives and you feel the weight of the consequences. What stood out to us is that in the middle of that hardship you are thanking God for His presence and for the grace to respond with patience and kindness, even while you are asking Him to work for truth. That is not easy, and it reflects a sincere desire to honor Him.

Wanting others to grow in honesty and to be spared the harm that lies bring is a good and loving prayer. Choosing to treat others as valuable people, even when you have been wronged, is a meaningful step, and it is also understandable if hurt or frustration still rises up at times. Both can be true as you walk this out day by day.

As you continue to navigate the legal side, it can help to keep a clear, factual record of communications and to lean on wise, trustworthy counsel to help you discern next steps with clarity and peace.

Father, we lift this situation to You. Thank You for Your nearness to our brother or sister and for the grace You have already shown them. Guard their heart, give them wisdom and steadiness in the days ahead, and work in the hearts of all involved that truth would be loved and practiced. We surrender this matter to Your care and ask for Your protection and direction. In Jesus' name, amen.

Your prayer for truth and honesty has been heard and we join you in bringing it before the throne of grace in the name of Jesus Christ, who is Himself the way, the truth and the life.

We thank God with you for His presence, for His fighting for you, and for the heavenly gifts which come through the blood of the cross shed for sinners. It is right and good that you have taken this burden to the Lord, for He is the God of truth and in Him is no darkness at all. As the Scripture says, your Word is truth, and our Lord Jesus did not merely speak the truth, He was and is the Truth embodied, transparent in word and in deed, and His kingdom is the kingdom of truth over all who love righteousness.

You have prayed as you ought concerning those who have dealt dishonestly, the landlord's team and lawyers and legal representatives. Lies are indeed a serious matter before a holy God, who has declared that refuges of lies shall be swept away as by hail, for no shelter built upon falsehood can stand before Him. To say we have fellowship with Him and walk in darkness is to lie and not do the truth, and he who claims he has no sin deceives himself and the truth is not in him. But when we come to our heavenly Father upon the ground of truth, confessing our sin and pleading the atoning blood of Christ, He meets us in mercy.

We commend the grace you have shown in meeting hardship with patience and kindness. This is to overcome evil with good, and it is the way of Christ. Continue to buy the truth and sell it not. Hold fast to that doctrinal and experimental truth which is found in Holy Scripture, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ and thou shalt be saved, and let that truth be lived out in honest dealing before God and before men. The war between truth and falsehood is still hot and fierce, and the children of God are called to be valiant for the truth, not with bitterness but with steadfast love.

We pray with you that the Lord will build up in those who have practiced dishonesty a renewed resistance to every false way, that He will open their eyes to see that the truth alone sets free, and that they will turn from every refuge of lies to the one true refuge which is Christ. We ask that the Lord will grant you continued grace to walk in sincerity, to stand for what is right without fear of man, and to trust Him to be your defender and judge. He who has begun a good work will be faithful to uphold you.

We surrender this whole matter with you to the will of God, praying that His truth will prevail and His name be glorified, and that all involved may come to know the freedom that is found only in honest submission to Jesus Christ our Lord.

In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your prayer honors God because you seek what He loves, truth and honesty, and you ask it not only for yourself but for those who have wronged you.

You have rightly remembered that Jesus is the way, the truth and the life, and that His blood shed on the Cross is our only hope as sinners. We thank God with you for His presence, for His fighting for you, and for the heavenly gifts He gives by grace. To come before Him in the name of Jesus, surrendering your will to Him, is the right and good path.

Lies are indeed serious before God. Scripture teaches that the Lord desires truth in the inward being and that dishonest gain and falsehood bring great harm to the soul. As you have seen, dishonesty does not happen by accident. People must break down their resistance to it little by little, through covetousness and carelessness, until they add oaths and falsehoods to get what they want. You pray wisely that God would build up that resistance again in the hearts of the landlord's team, the lawyers and the legal representatives, and teach them to practice honesty.

We join you in that prayer. We ask the Father to give them an honest soul, one that is open to truth. When truth lays hold of such a soul, it masters it easily, as sunlight easily enlightens clear eyes. We pray that their eyes would be opened to see that truth sets us free, while lying brings judgment and loss. God is a God of justice. In every house and market and court among men we see a care for justice, and how much more does God, whose righteousness is like the great mountains and whose right hand is full of righteousness, care for justice. He will not overlook what is done, yet He is also merciful. By strict justice we would all have perished from the beginning, but He has shown us kindness through Christ. So we pray not only for justice but for their repentance, that they may turn from falsehood before they suffer its consequences.

We also thank God for the grace He has given you to show patience and kindness to these people, even in hardship, as kindness was shown to you. Continue in that godliness and honesty of life, which is true quietness and peace. Keep walking in truth in both doctrine and life, for that is what pleases Him.

Let us pray together. Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus. Grant to all involved in this matter, and to us all, a love for truth and a hatred for lies. Build up in every heart a strong resistance to dishonesty and a commitment to speak and act honestly, even when it costs. Open eyes to see that honesty is not only right but good and freeing, and that deceit leads to wailing and loss. Give to those who have lied the grace of repentance, that they may confess and turn and find mercy at the Cross. Guard us from covetousness and from all that leads to falsehood, and help us to live by honest labor and honest speech. We surrender our lives and our will to You. Do what is just and what is merciful, according to Your perfect wisdom. In the name of Jesus we pray, Amen.

Your prayer reflects a heart that wants to honor God even in a difficult and painful conflict, and that is pleasing to Him. You are right to take lies seriously. Scripture treats dishonesty as a grave matter, and God who sees all knows the truth of every heart. We cannot present a polished version of ourselves to Him while hiding what is true, because He already knows what is hidden.

Jesus said He is the way, the truth and the life, and He also said the truth will set us free. His words are truth that endures when everything else passes away. That truth is not just an idea, it dwells in those who belong to Him and will be with us forever. The Holy Spirit is truth and He bears witness to what is true in our hearts, agreeing with the witness of the water and the blood, so that we come to know the truth not only as information but by experience as we walk in fellowship with Jesus, who is the true God and eternal life.

Part of walking with Him is renouncing hidden dishonesty and craftiness and refusing to handle truth deceitfully. Instead we commend what is true plainly before God and before the conscience of others. That kind of honesty is not always well received. Many people prefer flattery or what suits their interests, but a servant of God seeks to please God rather than people, speaking the truth faithfully even when it is unwelcome. There is great joy when we and those around us walk in truth and remain in it.

Scripture also shows us why dishonesty can become so entrenched. The enemy blinds minds and distorts truth, holding people with lies and deception, promising shortcuts and telling them they need not deny themselves or follow the way of the cross. When minds are blinded in that way, prayer is essential, asking God to bind that deceiving work so that the distortion is broken and people can see clearly again.

It is encouraging to hear that God has given you grace to show patience and kindness to the landlord's team and to the lawyers and legal representatives even while you have faced hardship. Continue to extend that grace, while also holding firmly to honesty and asking God to do the same work in them that He is doing in you.

Let us pray together. Father, in the name of Jesus we thank You for Your presence and for the gift of salvation through the blood shed on the cross. You know every detail of this situation and every word that has been spoken. We ask You to work in the hearts of all involved in this dispute, including the landlord's team and the attorneys. Build in them a renewed resistance to dishonesty and a love for what is true. Open their eyes to see that truth brings freedom while lies bring consequences, and help them to practice honesty in all they say and do. Guard their lips from falsehood and lead them away from empty lies that forsake Your mercy. For all of us, teach us to walk in truth by Your Spirit, to please You above all, and to surrender our will to Yours. We trust You to fight for us and to bring what is right into the light, in Jesus name, Amen.
