Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.

We join you in this prayer and we thank you for coming before the Father in the name of Jesus, for it is only through Him that we have access to God and it is only by His blood shed on the cross that we sinners are forgiven and reconciled to God. We rejoice that you have acknowledged that Jesus is the way, the truth, and the life as He said in John 14:6, and that you are seeking to walk in truth even while facing hardships.

We agree with you that lies are serious crimes before God. Scripture is very clear about this. Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight Proverbs 12:22. God commanded You shall not give false testimony against your neighbor Exodus 20:16. We are told to put away falsehood and speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members of one another Ephesians 4:25 and to not lie to one another, since you have put off the old man with his doings Colossians 3:9. Jesus taught that the devil is a liar and the father of lies John 8:44, and when we embrace dishonesty we align ourselves with him rather than with Christ who is truth itself.

We commend you for the grace God has given you to show patience and kindness to the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representatives even while you have suffered wrong. That is the character of Christ in you, to bless those who have opposed you and to desire their repentance rather than their destruction. Yet we also know that God is a God of justice as well as mercy, and He desires truth in the inward being Psalm 51:6 and justice to be upheld. To lie repeatedly does indeed require breaking down the conscience and resistance to dishonesty that God has placed in every heart, and we agree it must be rebuilt through repentance and the work of the Holy Spirit.

We also hold fast to the promise you have claimed, that you will know the truth, and the truth will make you free John 8:32. When truth is revealed and embraced, it brings freedom not only from legal consequences but from the bondage of sin itself.

We pray together with you now.

Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we come before Your throne of grace and we thank You for Your presence in our lives and for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts. We thank You for the sacrifice of the cross and the blood of Jesus that cleanses us. Lord, we lift up the landlord's team, the lawyers and the legal representatives to You. You see all that has been done in secret and You know every lie that has been spoken. We ask that You would convict their hearts, open their eyes to the truth that is in Jesus, and build up in them a holy resistance to dishonesty. Grant them a love for honesty and a fear of You that turns them away from lying. Help them to practice truthfulness and to understand that lies bring consequences both in this life and before Your judgment, for all liars will have their part outside Your holy city Revelation 21:8. We pray that You would bring the truth to light in this legal matter, that justice would be done and that Your name would be glorified. Give our brothers and sisters who have been wronged continued patience, kindness, wisdom and courage to stand for truth without bitterness, and to trust You as their defender and provider. We dedicate our lives to You anew and surrender our will to Yours. Let Your will be done in this situation as it is in heaven. In Jesus' name we pray, Amen.

We encourage you to continue to walk in truth and to trust the Lord to vindicate you in His perfect timing. Do not grow weary in doing good, for in due season you will reap if you do not give up Galatians 6:9. Continue to speak the truth in love Ephesians 4:15, to pray for those who have wronged you as Jesus commanded in Matthew 5:44, and to commit your cause to Him who judges righteously 1 Peter 2:23. He is faithful and He will not forsake those who seek Him.

We were moved reading your prayer. You have walked through real hardship with this landlord situation and the legal process, and yet your first instinct has been to pray for the very people who have not been truthful with you. That kind of patience and kindness is not easy, and we thank God for the grace He has given you to respond that way.

What you named is so true, that dishonesty does not happen all at once. It takes wearing down the inner check that tells us to tell the truth. Asking God to rebuild that resistance in them and to open their eyes to how truth brings freedom is a loving and wise way to pray, both for their good and for everyone affected.

We know carrying a legal burden like this can weigh heavily even when you are trying to forgive. One thing that often helps is to keep a clear, simple record of what has happened and what is said going forward, and to lean on trusted, wise counsel as you navigate the lawyers and paperwork. It does not replace prayer, it walks alongside it, and it can protect your peace as you wait.

We also want to encourage you to keep bringing your own heart to the Lord in this season, so resentment does not take root while you wait.

Father, in Jesus name we bring this situation before You. We ask You to work in the hearts of the landlord, the team and the legal representatives, drawing them toward honesty and a love for what is true. We ask for wisdom and steadiness for our friend, and for Your peace to guard them as they surrender this to You. Amen.

We have heard your prayer and join you with thankfulness before the heavenly Father in the name of Jesus, who is indeed the way, the truth and the life. With you we bless Him for His presence in our lives, for His fighting for us, and for heavenly gifts bestowed through the blood shed upon the Cross for sinners.

We agree with you that lies are no light matter. Our God is abundant in goodness and truth, and He cannot lie. His Word is truth, and to forsake truth is to forsake Him who is Truth itself. Christ did not merely speak the truth, He was the Truth, transparent in word and in deed, and where He reigns He rules the understanding by the truth of His doctrine and the affections by the truth of His person. To have truth in doctrine, truth in the heart, and truth in the life is to have Christ Himself to be our treasure.

It is a gracious work in you that though you have faced hardships you have been enabled to show patience and kindness to those who have opposed you, even to the landlord's team and to lawyers and legal representatives. This is to overcome evil with good, and it adorns the gospel. May the Lord keep you in that spirit, valiant for truth yet tender in mercy, fearing no man but submitting yourselves to the will of God who judges righteously.

We join you in praying for those who have dealt dishonestly. We ask the Lord, who is the God of truth, to open their eyes and to build up in them a holy resistance to falsehood. We pray that they may learn to buy the truth and sell it not, to love truth not only in word but in deed, and to come to honest dealing with God. May they be brought to confess what is true about themselves as sinners, and to lay hold of what is true on God's side, that Christ died for sinners and that His atonement is a great reality. For when a man owns the truth about his sin and trusts the truth of the Saviour's blood, he stands upon ground where God can meet him in mercy through that blood, and there he finds real pardon and the truth of God's salvation which alone can set him free. Sooner shall heaven and earth pass away than one promise of our God shall fall to the ground, and He will not deny Himself.

For you we pray that you may be kept in the truth you have professed, remembering it just when you most need it, trusting God in the storm as well as in the calm, and daily surrendering your will to Him to whom you have dedicated your lives. May He keep you from bitterness, establish you in faith, and cause truth to prevail in this whole matter according to His wise and holy will.

We commend you and all concerned to Him who loves righteousness and truth, beseeching Him in the name of Jesus Christ our only Saviour and King of Truth. Amen.
