Beloved of All
Your prayer has been received with thankfulness, and we join you in bringing it before the Father in the name of Jesus, who alone is the way, the truth and the life.
You have spoken rightly. Lies are not small faults. Scripture teaches that dishonesty corrupts the soul and brings great loss, and when gain is sought through falsehood and perjury, it adds to that loss the danger of judgment and the loss of the kingdom. Even wealth that is gathered honestly carries a heavy responsibility to use it for good, how much more then does wealth or advantage sought through deceit bring a heavy charge before God. To live by buying and selling, by legal claims and contracts, requires watchfulness, because oaths and falsehoods and covetousness so easily enter in when the heart is set only on gain.
You have also prayed with a Christlike spirit, asking not for revenge but for transformation. You have shown patience and kindness even while facing hardship, and you now ask that God would build in others what He has been building in you, a resistance to dishonesty and a love for honesty. This is pleasing to God, for a quiet and peaceable life before Him must be lived in all godliness and honesty. Godliness is not only right belief but a life that matches that belief, and honesty is part of that good order.
Truth needs an honest soul to receive it. When the soul is candid and open, truth easily masters it and enlightens it as the sun enlightens clear eyes. When the heart is closed, truth cannot take hold, not because truth is weak but because the soul is not ready. So we pray that God would open eyes, soften hearts, and make them honest and receptive, so that the truth that sets us free may be seen and obeyed.
We join you in praying for the landlord's team, the lawyers and legal representatives. We ask that the Lord would convict them where lies have been spoken, that He would turn them from falsehood to truthfulness, and that He would help them practice honesty in all their dealings. We pray that they would come to know the seriousness of lying before God and before others, that they would turn from it and seek forgiveness through the blood of Jesus shed on the cross for sinners, and that they would walk in the righteousness and holiness of truth which God creates in those who belong to Him.
We also pray for you, that the Lord would continue to give you grace to stand firm, to speak the truth in love, to seek what is just by honest means, and to trust Him as the one who fights for you and blesses you with heavenly gifts. May He keep you from growing weary in doing good, and may He use your endurance and kindness as a witness to the power of the gospel.
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus we thank You for Your presence and for the sacrifice of Your Son. We ask You to work in the hearts of all involved in this matter. Grant repentance where there has been dishonesty, grant love for truth, and grant the courage to practice honesty at every cost. Lead all of us into the freedom that comes from walking in Your truth.
