Dishonesty

Beloved of All
Heavenly Father, in the name of Jesus, we come before you.
Jesus is the way, the truth and the life.
We thank you for your presence in our lives.
Thank you for fighting for us and blessing us with heavenly gifts.
Thank you for the sacrifice of the Cross when Jesus' blood was shed for us sinners.
Lord, lies are serious crimes,
Lord we also pray for the landlord's team, lawyers and legal representative.
Although we have faced hardships, you have given us the grace to show these people the same patience and kindness that was shown to us.
In order to lie and commit several serious crimes, they had to break down all the resistance to dishonesty.
Lord, we ask that you build up their resistance to dishonesty and help them to practice honesty.
Lord, we believe that truth will set us free, and we ask that you open their eyes to this truth so that they will not suffer the consequences of lying.
We dedicate our lives to you and surrender our will to you.
In Jesus name,
amen

We stand together in agreement with your heartfelt plea, lifting up the serious matter of dishonesty before our Heavenly Father. The Word of God is clear that lying is an abomination to the Lord, for He is a God of truth. Proverbs 12:22 tells us, "Lying lips are an abomination to Yahweh, but those who do the truth are his delight." We must also remember that Jesus declared Himself to be "the way, the truth, and the life" (John 14:6), and those who follow Him are called to walk in truth and integrity.

We acknowledge that dishonesty can take root in anyone’s heart when resistance to sin is weakened, and we pray fervently for those involved in this situation, especially the landlord’s team, lawyers, and legal representatives. Father, we ask that You break the chains of deception in their lives. Soften their hearts to receive Your truth, and grant them the conviction to turn away from lies. Ephesians 4:25 instructs us, "Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor, for we are members of one another." May they embrace this truth and walk in it.

We also lift up those who have been wronged by dishonesty. Lord, we thank You for the grace You have given to respond with patience and kindness, even in the face of hardship. Help us to continue reflecting Your love, even when it is difficult. Romans 12:21 reminds us, "Don’t be overcome by evil, but overcome evil with good." Strengthen us to respond in a way that honors You and may even lead others to repentance.

Father, we declare that Your truth will set us free (John 8:32). We ask that You open the eyes of those who have been blinded by deception, that they may see the destructive path they are on and turn back to You. Let them experience the freedom and peace that come from walking in honesty and integrity. We surrender our wills to You, trusting that You will bring justice and restoration in Your perfect timing.

We pray for conviction, repentance, and transformation in the lives of all involved. May they come to know the power of the Cross and the saving blood of Jesus, which cleanses us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9). Let them experience the forgiveness and new life that only Christ can offer.

Lord, we also ask for wisdom and discernment as we navigate this situation. Guide our steps, guard our hearts, and help us to remain steadfast in faith. We trust in Your promise that "no weapon that is formed against you will prevail" (Isaiah 54:17), and we stand firm in the knowledge that You are our defender and righteous judge.

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who is Truth incarnate, the One who died for our sins and rose again so that we might live in freedom and righteousness. Amen.

We’re so moved by the prayer you shared. Even in the middle of a situation where you’ve been hurt by dishonesty, you’re asking God to build up resistance to lying in those who have wronged you. That kind of intercession is evidence of a heart that’s been shaped by grace, and it protects you from bitterness even as you await justice.

One thing we’ve seen repeatedly in times of conflict is that truth really does bring freedom, not just for the one caught in a lie, but also for the one who chooses to keep walking in openness before God. Your willingness to surrender your will and keep showing patience and kindness is powerful, and we don’t want you to carry the weight of this fight alone. We’d encourage you to share the journey with a trusted pastor or a mature friend from your church. Having someone who can listen, remind you of God’s faithfulness, and pray alongside you makes a real difference when legal battles and interpersonal strain wear you down.

Let’s pray together now.

Lord Jesus, we join in asking You to let the truth prevail in this situation. Wherever deceit has taken root, bring conviction and a genuine turning toward honesty. Sustain this dear person with Your peace that doesn’t depend on seeing every outcome. Give clarity and wise counsel as they navigate the days ahead, and keep their heart free from resentment. We entrust the whole matter to You, knowing You are the righteous Judge who sees all things. In Your name, Amen.

Every untruth is a cobweb woven across the mouth of hell, and the man who spins it will one day find it becomes his own shroud. You pray that these lawyers and adversaries might have their resistance to dishonesty built up, but know this: mere moral reform without a new heart is but whitewash on a tomb. The axe must be laid to the root. Until they see that the God of truth has written their every false word in His book, and that the blood of Jesus alone can blot it out, they remain in the gall of bitterness. You speak of grace shown to you, and it is well to return patience for injury, but never let that patience become a pillow for their impenitence. Point them to the cross where the Just One died for the unjust. Tell them plainly that the hail of God’s justice will sweep away every refuge of lies, every legal maneuver, every false affidavit, unless they flee to the cleft of that Rock which is Christ. Pray, yes, but speak. Love compels warning as much as it compels kindness.

I fear the scabbard has rusted in many a pulpit, and the sword of truth lies dull. But you have been brought into this furnace for a purpose. You have faced hardships, and by your own testimony, you have been given grace to show these opponents patience. That patience must not become a silent accomplice to their sin. There must be a clear testimony that lying, though it may prosper for a night, builds a house upon sand. The beams will crack, the roof will fall, and great will be the ruin of it. Urge them to buy the truth at any price, and to sell it not. The truth which sets a man free is not a vague notion of honesty, but a Person, Jesus Christ, who is the way, the truth, and the life. If they cannot be honest with men, it proves they have not yet been honest with God. And a soul that will not confess its sin to the Judge may hide behind clever pleas for a season, but will stand speechless at the final bar.

Do not think this warfare unexpected. It has pleased God that truth should always advance through conflict. The very resistance you encounter is a sign that the Word is pressing upon their conscience. The strong man armed is being disturbed in his house. But your hope lies not in the landlord’s team suddenly becoming virtuous; your hope lies in the Spirit of God accompanying the divine truth with power. When the sword of the Lord is sharpened, it can pierce the joints and marrow. Go on surrendering your will to God, and let that surrender be so complete that you can bless them while they curse you, yet never cease to declare to them that their lies are an abomination to the Lord and eternal ruin awaits the unrepentant liar. Justice satisfied by the blood of Jesus is the only plea that will hold. Every other argument will be swept away, for the hail shall sweep away the refuges of lies.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

You have done well to bring this matter before the Lord, for lying is a deep wound, a self-inflicted injury that strips the soul bare of all honor. Those who practice dishonesty do not see that they pierce themselves, exposing their shame to the hosts of heaven and to all who pass by. The liar destroys his own credit, becoming a laughingstock, even if he thinks his secrets are hidden. So your prayer that God would build up their resistance to dishonesty is a merciful request, for they are in a pitiful state.

Yet know this: it is not enough merely to cease from lies. True holiness does not consist only in freedom from sin, but in the presence of the Spirit and a wealth of good works. A man is made holy not by avoiding filth, but by becoming bright and beautiful in soul, adorned with the gold of truth, his robe pure, his face well-formed. You pray that their eyes be opened to the truth that sets free; indeed, truth alone bestows the real freedom, making a person honorable even in low estate. For virtue, not outward circumstance, is the measure of true wealth and liberty.

Consider the price paid for this freedom: the precious blood of Christ, the sign of the cross. When you sign yourself, remember the purpose of that sacrifice: to free you from slavery to sin. Quench every passion, fill your forehead with courage, and make your soul free. Then intercede for these lost ones, that they too may come to the banquet of the King, properly adorned, and taste the royal cup. But do not think yourselves safe while you pray for others; examine yourselves daily, lest you fall by little untruths. We are sojourners here, citizens of a higher city; let us live accordingly.

It strikes me how you have turned toward the Lord in the very situation where injustice and dishonesty have been used against you. Instead of clinging to anger, you are praying for those who have lied, asking that their resistance to dishonesty would be rebuilt and that truth would set them free. That is not natural. It is the grace of Christ at work in you.

Lies are indeed serious. When people break down all inner restraint in order to commit what is false and harmful, they are not merely breaking law; they are embracing a spiritual darkness that holds them captive. Scripture warns that those who do not love the truth are given over to a strong delusion, so that they believe the lie they have chosen. It is a fearful thing to see someone so blinded that they call evil good and treat falsehood as a tool. Yet that blindness can be lifted. Jesus said that knowing the truth brings true freedom, and He Himself is that truth. The freedom He gives is not just about getting facts straight; it breaks the power of sin and reorients the heart.

Your prayer echoes the very miracle that happens when mercy and truth meet together. In human courts, justice often stumbles and truth can seem fallen in the street. It can be disheartening when those entrusted with the legal process act without integrity. But remember, ultimate justice and mercy kissed each other at the cross. There, the penalty for every wrong was fully paid, so that God could be both just and the justifier of those who trust Him. That same cross enables you to extend patience and kindness to people who, by their lies, have made themselves enemies, not because you ignore the wrong, but because you have been shown a mercy that you did not deserve. You are walking in the truth when you refuse to let injury provoke you into hatred.

Keep praying that their eyes would be opened. We have a real part in that. Through prayer and the consistent witness of a life that loves truth, God can break through the deceit that holds them. Ask Him to take away the blindness that the enemy uses to keep them from seeing their own condition. A person who has torn down every internal barrier to lying is like someone who has crushed a fence meant to keep out dangerous animals. They need the Lord to rebuild what they have destroyed, a new, healthy resistance to dishonesty that only He can restore.

Do not be surprised if at times you feel the pressure to give up on truth yourself, or to react in kind. Some people do not want to hear truth because it disturbs the comfort of their own way. Yet you are already showing the better path. Truth is not something we merely defend with words; it is a Person we follow. Continue walking in that truth, as you are doing, and trust that the Lord sees. Even when earthly systems fail to bring equity, His righteousness will have the final word. He is not indifferent to what has been done to you.

May He grant you deep peace and sustain your heart as you surrender your will to Him. Keep loving the truth, and do not let the deceit of others cause you to stumble. The One who is the way, the truth, and the life will never let you go.
