Disciple of Prayer
Dear all..I want to start this request for prayer with gratitude for our Lord Jesus and the heavenly father🙏 I thank you Lord for all the times you helped me, healed me and above all else saved me. I would also like to pray for everyone who is going through pain and hardships in life. I pray that Lord takes away all that is negative and replace it with his love and peace.

My problem which is making me lose my mind and causing pain and exhaustion is my husband who is a narcissist. He constantly humiliates me and treat me like I am a mere slave. I have done all I can and gone out of my way to keep peace and harmony at home but it all goes into hell and I am left with a heavy heart and a mind full of fear and frustration. My son is also suffering..he is growing up and going to be a teenager soon. I am really concerned about him.

I request prayers to turn my situation around and male it peaceful..and healing to happen. I request prayers to change my husband and elder son' s behavior.

Thank you

We hear your cry for help and stand with you in prayer, lifting your heavy heart to the Lord. First, we praise God for your faith and gratitude in the midst of such pain, it is a testament to His work in your life. Your acknowledgment of Jesus as Savior and Healer is the foundation upon which we build this prayer, for it is only through Him that true peace and restoration can come.

The disharmony and quarrels in your home are not God’s design. Scripture tells us, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men" (Romans 12:18 WEB), but we recognize that peace cannot be forced when one party refuses to honor God’s order. Your husband’s behavior, humiliation, treating you as a slave, is a grievous sin against you and against the Lord. Marriage is meant to reflect Christ’s love for the church (Ephesians 5:25-33 WEB), a covenant of mutual respect, sacrifice, and honor. What you are enduring is not submission as God intends; it is oppression, and the Lord does not delight in it. We rebuke the spirit of pride, control, and cruelty in your husband’s actions in the name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17 WEB), and we pray for the chains of fear and frustration to be broken from your mind and heart.

Your concern for your son is also close to the heart of God. Children are a heritage from the Lord (Psalm 127:3 WEB), and the atmosphere of your home will shape his understanding of love, respect, and godly authority. We pray that the Lord will shield his heart from bitterness and confusion, that he would see Christ’s love modeled in you, and that he would grow in wisdom and stature before God and man (Luke 2:52 WEB). We also pray for your elder son, that the Lord would soften his heart and correct any attitudes that do not align with His Word.

Now, let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You with heavy hearts, lifting up this sister who is weary and broken. Lord, You see the tears she has cried in secret, the exhaustion of her spirit, and the weight she carries daily. We ask that You would be her refuge and strength, a very present help in this trouble (Psalm 46:1 WEB). Father, we pray for her husband, that You would convict his heart of sin and draw him to repentance. Soften the hardness of his heart, Lord, and let him see the damage his words and actions have caused. If he will not change, we pray for Your divine intervention to either transform him or remove him from this place of authority over her life. We declare that no weapon formed against her shall prosper, and we bind every spirit of fear, oppression, and control in the name of Jesus.

For her sons, we ask for Your protection over their minds and hearts. Guard them from the effects of this toxic environment, Lord, and let them see Your love and truth in their mother. Give her the wisdom to parent them in a way that points them to You, even in the midst of this storm. We pray for healing in this home, healing of wounds, healing of relationships, and healing of the atmosphere. Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, fill this home and replace every spirit of strife and discord (Philippians 4:7 WEB).

Father, we also ask that You provide this sister with godly counsel and support. Surround her with believers who will stand with her, pray for her, and help her navigate this difficult season. Give her the strength to set boundaries if necessary, and the courage to seek help if her safety or the safety of her children is at risk. We trust You, Lord, to turn this situation around for Your glory. Whether through restoration or deliverance, we know that You are working all things together for her good (Romans 8:28 WEB).

We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, the One who came to set the captives free and bind up the brokenhearted. Amen.

Sister, you are not alone. The Lord sees your suffering, and He is near to the brokenhearted (Psalm 34:18 WEB). We encourage you to seek wise, biblical counsel, perhaps from a pastor or trusted Christian counselor, who can help you navigate this situation with godly wisdom. You may need to consider practical steps, such as setting boundaries or even separation if your safety is at risk, but do so with prayer and counsel. Remember, God’s heart is for justice and mercy, and He will not abandon you. Hold fast to His promises, and trust that He is working even when you cannot see it. You are precious in His sight, and He will not leave you in this place of pain forever.

We hear so much pain in what you’ve shared, and we want you to know you are not alone in this. The constant humiliation and the feeling of walking on eggshells are not things God dismisses lightly, He sees every tear and hears every unspoken sigh. While we can’t know exactly what each new day holds, we can say with confidence that your worth does not come from how anyone treats you. You are held, right now, by a God who calls you beloved.

In a situation like this, one of the most important things you can do is find a safe person to talk with face to face, perhaps a wise pastor or a Christian counselor who has experience with emotionally toxic dynamics. This is not about doing something drastic behind your husband’s back, but about allowing someone outside the fog to help you see clearly, think biblically, and make decisions rooted in wisdom rather than exhaustion. The emotional weight you are carrying is heavy, and trying to shoulder it alone often makes it harder to know what a lasting, God-honoring path forward even looks like.

Your son’s well-being is also heavy on your heart, and we can understand why. You might consider whether there is a trustworthy youth leader, mentor, or family friend who can become a steady, life-giving presence in his life during these teenage years. He needs to see that patience and kindness are still real, and that being a man of God does not look like what he may be witnessing at home.

Lord Jesus, thank You that You are close to the brokenhearted. We lift up this sister to You now, give her strength for each day, clarity when confusion closes in, and a small glimmer of hope when the road feels unbearably long. Surround her with wise, gentle people who will walk alongside her without judgment. Shield her son, guard his heart, and place trustworthy mentors in his path. Work in this home in whatever way brings true peace, and heal what has been wounded. We ask all this in Your name, Jesus. Amen.

You speak of a home where peace has fled and humiliation sits at the table like a bitter guest. It is right that you have begun with gratitude to God for His salvation and healing of your own soul, for there is the anchor that must hold when the tempest rages within your own borders. Yet I must press you further into that same blessed truth: the peace which God gives is not dependent upon the alteration of another’s behaviour, but upon the staying of your mind upon Him. You will keep him in perfect peace, margin, peace, peace, whose mind is stayed on You, because he trusts in You. Your husband’s coldness and cruelty are a deep wound, but the great Physician is near, and His Word runs very swiftly. There is no balm in Gilead, no physician there; the balm is at the Cross, and the Physician is at the right hand of God. You have done all you can to keep harmony, and you have found that human striving ends in a heavy heart and a mind full of fear. That is because the disease in your home, like the disease in every human soul, is incurable by natural means. You wish for your husband and son to be changed, and so you ought, but first I bid you, come and lie at Jesus’ feet with this exact burden. Not at the feet of man, not frantically rearranging the circumstances, but prostrate before Him. At His feet we learn that repentance apart from Christ must itself be repented of, and that there we find the blessed repentance which brings an answer of peace.

The household is a little church, and the health of it begins with the true piety of its members. You cry to God to change your husband’s behaviour; that is well, but see that your own soul is first bathed in that peace which passes all understanding. Jesus linked healing with teaching, and his first word to the paralysed man was, “Your sins are forgiven you.” For your own peace, grasp this: the chastisement of our peace was upon Him, and with His stripes we are healed. The same Jesus who has vanquished death and all its powers can breathe into your soul, this very moment, a peace which all the humiliations of a narcissistic spirit cannot touch. Do you believe that? If you will not trust God, neither shall you have peace. That is the soil in which the healing leaves of the Tree of Life must grow. You look up to that Tree and say, “I am sick at heart, may I dare to partake of it?” Yes, the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and for the healing of your home. But it is a healing that begins in your own inward parts, making you a sanctified lever for God to use.

For your son, who is growing under this dark shadow, do not let your fear cause you to handle him with the iron tools of human anxiety. A mother’s influence is a home mission. The Lord’s ministry was a home mission; He went about doing good. Let your son see you doing good, with a heart at rest in Jesus, even with sorrows surging round. With loved ones far away? In Jesus’ keeping we are safe, and they. The dear wife is at home, the child is in the home, and things seem left as a burden; but Jesus’ keeping extends to that son when you roll the burden upon the Lord. Bear your sorrow with Him, and then see what peace, what perfect peace, you will enjoy. Do not think that your husband’s sin is unnoticed by the God who sees. But if you are driven from the road of your own confidence to the dreary harbour of despair, remember that the supernatural Physician can remove the disease. In a moment, no sooner had I looked than I had joy and peace, and I can promise you the same! Those wounds of Christ still stream with mercy. Stand at His feet, and He who said to the woman, “Your faith has saved you; go in peace,” will speak that peace to you.

Go now, and let your first mission be that quiet posture. If Christ has healed you, obey Him. Obey Him at once, obey Him exactly. Let your conduct be the unspoken sermon in the home, and pray that the same healing word which has brought peace to your conscience may run swiftly into the heart of your husband and your child. The Lord gives to His people, at times, such peace and joy in believing that though they are poor and afflicted, they do not say, “I am poor,” but sing, “I am forgiven, I am forgiven!” When the Lord pardons our sin, there is a prey to be taken, riches of Grace are at our disposal. Earth’s struggles shall soon cease, but until then, God will fill your borders with the finest of the wheat if your borders are first filled with His peace. Cry to Him for their change, but rest yourself, even now, in the perfect remission of your own sins, and let that be the lightning-rod that grounds the storm.

May God in Jesus' name answer your prayer request according to God's perfect love, wisdom, will, timing, grace, and mercy. God is so in love with you. Be Encouraged!

Psalm 37:4: Delight yourself in the Lord, And He shall give you the desires of your heart.
Matthew 6:33: But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

The peace that you seek in your home, the peace from God, is not merely the absence of open strife while the soul is trampled. For concord is not in every case a good thing; robbers agree together, yet their peace is their destruction. The physician amputates the incurable part to save the body. So too the Lord commanded us to pronounce peace on a house, but that peace is a sword against the mutinous and the diseased, so that true harmony may reign. If your husband treats you as a slave and humiliates you without repentance, the peace you have striven to keep by yielding and silence is but a false truce that leaves your heart heavy and your son’s upbringing endangered. The peace of Christ is the mother of all good things, but it cannot dwell where one member is at war with the others. For the body to be healthy, all its elements must be in harmony; if one part is in constant rebellion, the whole is thrown into disorder. Your son suffers because he witnesses this war and drinks in its poison.

Therefore, do not seek a peace that papers over wickedness, for that is the peace of robbers. Pray instead for the true peace that comes when the mutinous spirit is cut off, when hearts are changed by the fear of God. You are right to give thanks to the Lord for your salvation, for that is the foundation. Now bring your husband before God with tears and prayers, but also with the holy boldness of a soul that will not call evil good. If he is a scoffer, let him see your unwavering gentleness woven with a refusal to partake in his sin. Do not repay insult with insult, but do not pretend that his cruelty is peace. For the peacemakers are called sons of God; the makers of disturbance, sons of the devil. You are not called to be a doormat but a witness to the love that will not endure the beloved’s destruction.

Raise your son in the nurture and admonition of the Lord, and fear not, for his own angel beholds the face of the Father. Let the peace of God be the umpire in your heart, and be thankful even in these trials, for this is the contest to which you were called. The Lord who came to set at peace the things in earth and heaven is with you, and He will not forsake you.

The ache you describe runs deep, and the exhaustion is real. That longing for peace in your home, for a change in your husband and your son, is not just a wish for calmer circumstances. It is a thirst. Not merely an emotional thirst for a break from the humiliation and fear, but a thirst in your spirit for something only God can do. In a world overflowing with conflict, the good news that rings out is a gospel of peace. Not a peace that depends on another person changing first, but a peace with God himself. You have already begun with what is most vital: gratitude for his healing and salvation in your own life. That is the anchor point. When the turmoil of your home feels like a troubled sea that might swallow you, there is a peace that passes understanding, a peace that can keep your heart and mind. That peace is yours in Jesus, and it remains true even when your husband’s behavior is anything but peaceful.

It is right to pray earnestly for his transformation. Turn that deep desire into persistent, specific prayer. But be prepared for how God might work. Sometimes a person can have what looks like an emotional experience, a moment of seeming remorse or a promise to be different. A man says, "I'm sorry, I'll change." Yet when the next testing comes, the old pattern returns because there was no deep root. A temporary emotional shift is no substitute for the profound healing of the heart that the Spirit of God brings. Pray, then, not just for a moment of calm, but for a genuine, lasting work of healing in his mind and soul. Healing in the Bible is not confined to one method. Sometimes it is instant, sometimes it is gradual and requires a process. Some healing is physical, but some is a deep, divine mending of wounds and scars within the mind and emotions. God can do a healing work in your husband, where the root of his cruelty is exposed and dealt with. And he can bring a healing to you and your son from the wounds these years have inflicted, even as the situation remains difficult.

For your son, who is watching and suffering, your concern is the cry of a mother’s heart. Just as David once sought a place of safety and peace for his own parents amid the irrational fury of a king, so your prayers can create a shelter of grace around your son. Pray that his heart would not be hardened, that he would see your faith and your reliance on God as the true source of strength. You cannot control your husband’s choices, but you can model for your son what it means to turn to Jesus with a thirsty soul.

Let Jesus be your direct hope, just as he was for the woman who had suffered for years. She pressed through the crowd, desperately believing that touching him would bring wholeness. When she felt the healing come, she fell before him in truth, and he said to her, "Daughter, your faith has made you whole. Go in peace, and be healed." That is what you need. Not a mere patch on the situation, but a wholeness that lets you go in peace regardless of the chaos around you. Wholeness that comes when your own spirit is right before God, no matter how another person treats you.

So keep praying. Bring the longing for your husband’s change and the cry for your son’s protection before the Lord without ceasing. And as you do, drink deeply from the well that never runs dry. The world offers promises of satisfaction through changed circumstances, but Jesus alone gives living water that quenches the soul’s deepest thirst. The war within your home may rage, but your spirit can know the end of its war with despair. There is peace, deep and quiet, for you right now, even in this. God is near to the brokenhearted, and he will not leave you without help. Trust him for the gradual, sometimes unseen, work of healing for your whole family.
