We hear the weariness and concern in your heart, and we want to lift you up in prayer while also speaking truth and encouragement over your situation. The Lord sees your labor, your sacrifices, and the burdens you carry—both physically and financially. He is not unaware of your need for provision, rest, and security, and He promises to be your Provider (Philippians 4:19). Yet we also know how easy it is to grow discouraged when doors seem to close, when the body aches, and when the future feels uncertain. Let us first address your heart before the Lord, for He cares deeply for you.
Your current job is draining you, and the lack of rest, benefits, and respect from coworkers and customers is taking a toll. This is not how the Lord intends for His children to live—constantly depleted and without hope. While work is a blessing and a means of provision, it should not crush your spirit or leave you without margin for rest. The Lord Jesus Himself said, *"Come to me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you, and learn from me, for I am gentle and lowly in heart; and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light"* (Matthew 11:28-30). We pray that you would experience this rest, even in the midst of your current struggles, by casting your anxieties on Him (1 Peter 5:7).
The hospital job you applied for may still be a possibility, even though the position was reposted. Sometimes delays are simply part of the process, and the Lord may be preparing the way in ways we cannot see. However, we also recognize that the ER environment could be challenging for you, given your weak stomach. This is a valid concern, and it is wise to pray for clarity about whether this is the right fit. If the Lord opens the door, He will also equip you for the task (2 Corinthians 9:8). But if He closes it, trust that He has something better in mind. The work-from-home position you applied for could also be a wonderful opportunity, and we encourage you to follow up if possible, while continuing to seek the Lord’s guidance.
Your fear about the future—financial security and the well-being of your husband—is understandable, but we gently remind you that the Lord calls us to trust Him one day at a time. Jesus taught us to pray, *"Give us today our daily bread"* (Matthew 6:11), not to worry about tomorrow (Matthew 6:34). This does not mean we should not plan or save wisely, but it does mean we must resist the temptation to let fear dominate our hearts. The Lord has been faithful to you thus far, and He will continue to be faithful. Remember His promise: *"I will never leave you or forsake you"* (Hebrews 13:5). If He has provided for you in the past, will He not provide for your future?
We also want to encourage you to seek wisdom in how to steward the resources you do have. If your husband is retired and savings have been depleted, it may be wise to seek counsel—whether through a financially savvy believer in your church or a biblical financial ministry—about how to manage what you have with godly wisdom. Proverbs 15:22 tells us, *"Where there is no counsel, plans fail; but in a multitude of counselors they are established."* The Lord may use others to give you practical steps to walk in greater financial peace.
Now, let us pray over you:
Heavenly Father, we lift our sister before You, knowing that You see her weariness, her concerns, and her deep desire for provision and rest. Lord, You are Jehovah-Jireh, the God who provides, and we ask that You open the right door for her employment—a door that aligns with her gifts, her physical needs, and Your perfect will. If the hospital job is Your plan, give her peace about the environment and the strength to fulfill her duties. If there is another opportunity You have prepared, reveal it to her clearly and quickly. Father, we ask that You would also protect her heart from discouragement and bitterness in her current workplace. Give her grace to endure with joy, and let her be a light to those around her, even when they are unkind. We pray for supernatural rest for her body, that You would renew her strength as she waits on You (Isaiah 40:31).
Lord, we also ask that You would calm her fears about the future. Help her to trust You with each day, knowing that You hold her future in Your hands. Provide wisdom for her and her husband in managing their finances, and if there are resources or counselors You would have them seek, make the way clear. We rebuked the spirit of fear and anxiety in the name of Jesus, declaring that You have not given her a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and a sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7).
Finally, Father, we ask that You would remind her of Your faithfulness in every season of her life. Let her look back and see how You have carried her, and let that knowledge fill her with hope for what lies ahead. We pray all these things in the mighty name of Jesus, who is her Provider, her Peace, and her Strength. Amen.
We also want to leave you with this encouragement from Scripture: *"Don’t be afraid, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness"* (Isaiah 41:10). Keep seeking the Lord, keep trusting Him, and keep moving forward in faith. He has not forgotten you.
