Difficulties

We hear your heart cry about difficulties against spiritual powers in high places and we stand with you in this battle, for we know this struggle is real and not imagined.

Scripture tells us plainly where our true battle lies, For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places. Ephesians 6:12 That is why you feel such heaviness and opposition that goes beyond natural difficulties, and we want to encourage you that you are not alone and you are not without help or hope.

We are reminded that the enemy seeks to steal, discourage and destroy, but our Lord has already secured the victory. We are told to Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary, the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. Withstand him steadfast in your faith. 1 Peter 5:8-9 And we are given the promise that when we submit to God and resist the enemy in the name of Jesus, he must flee. Be subject therefore to God. But resist the devil, and he will flee from you. James 4:7

We want to encourage you to be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might. Ephesians 6:10 and to daily put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. Ephesians 6:11 This means clothing yourself with truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God, and praying at all times in the Spirit. Our weapons are not of the flesh, but mighty before God to the throwing down of strongholds. 2 Corinthians 10:4 And we cling to this truth, You are of God, little children, and have overcome them, because greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world. 1 John 4:4 No, in all these things, we are more than conquerors through him who loved us. Romans 8:37 And Behold, I give you authority to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy. Nothing will in any way hurt you. Luke 10:19

We notice your request did not mention the name of Jesus Christ, and we gently and lovingly want to share that it is only through Him that we have access to the Father and authority over these powers. Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me. John 14:6 and There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 It is by calling upon the name of Jesus, believing that He died for our sins and rose again, that we are saved and brought under His protection and lordship. If you have not already, we encourage you to confess Jesus as Lord and put your full trust in Him, for His blood has disarmed the principalities and powers and He has triumphed over them.

We rebuke every scheme of the enemy that has come against you and we declare that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, for the Lord is your shield and defender.

We pray together now for you. Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty and holy name of Jesus Christ, and we lift up this dear one who is facing difficulties and oppression from spiritual powers in high places. We ask You to forgive any sin, close any open door to the enemy, and cleanse this life by the blood of Jesus. We ask You to surround this dear one with Your presence, Your peace, and Your protection. We put on the full armor of God on their behalf and we ask You to strengthen them to stand firm, to resist the devil, and to walk in victory. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit, with courage and discernment, and teach them to wield the sword of the Spirit which is Your Word. Let them know in a deeper way that greater is He who is in them than he who is in the world, and that they are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them. Bring deliverance, bring rest, and let Your light dispel every darkness. We ask that You lead them into fellowship with other believers, into consistent prayer and into the truth of Scripture daily. We thank You that the battle belongs to You and that Jesus has already won. We pray all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ our Lord and Savior, amen.

Thank you for being honest about what you are facing. Carrying a sense of opposition from spiritual powers in high places can feel heavy and isolating, and we want you to know you are not alone in this struggle.

We have learned over time that it helps to avoid two extremes, either dismissing that spiritual reality or becoming consumed by it. A steadier path is to stay close to Jesus day by day and to not walk through this alone.

One thing that has helped many is to treat spiritual growth like training rather than a single effort. Small, consistent practices over time, prayer, reading Scripture, honest fellowship with a few trusted believers, can slowly strengthen your footing. It also helps to invite others in. Meeting regularly with a pastor or a mature small group who can pray with you, listen well, and keep you grounded makes a real difference when the pressure feels intense. If the burden is affecting your sleep, daily life, or peace of mind, it is also wise to reach out to a pastor and, if needed, a trusted counselor alongside prayer.

Father, we lift our friend to You right now. Surround them with Your presence and peace, give them wisdom and steady support from others who love You, and help them to rest in Your strength each day. Lead them step by step and keep them close to You. In Jesus name, amen.

2 For with what judgment ye judge, ye shall be judged: and with what measure ye mete, it shall be measured to you again.

3 And why beholdest thou the mote that is in thy brother's eye, but considerest not the beam that is in thine own eye?

Your cry concerning spiritual powers in high places has been heard, and it is right that you should feel the weight of this conflict, for we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places.

There are times when the enemy seems to spread his dragon wings and darken all the heavens above us, and we feel ourselves too low and too weak to stand against him. Yet hear what the Lord has said, Now will I arise, says the Lord, because of the sighing of the needy. Nothing but the sighs of His needy people has caused this mighty movement, that He will rend the veil and come out from His hiding place to help them. Your sigh, though it be but a breath, has brought Omnipotence to be infinitely more than a match for all the powers of darkness. With such a promise, let us give the adversary a deadly thrust, for he must flee discomfited before one whose cries have brought God to his help.

Remember also that you have a Rock that is higher than you are, and higher than all those high places where the enemy would assail you. Your troubles may rise very high, your fears may reach above the stars, but this Rock is higher still. As high as heaven is above the earth, so high are His thoughts above your thoughts, and His ways above your ways. When your heart is overwhelmed, you are bidden to climb up to the Rock Christ, for there is no trouble and no principality that can reach you when you get there. All you have ever enjoyed of Christ is but as the beginning of a topless mountain, and His grace is to be measured not by your nothingness, but by His infinity.

You are not left to fight alone in these high places, for you have a great High Priest who has passed into the heavens, Jesus the Son of God. We need a High Priest who is Man as well as God, one who can be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, and such a one we have. He is not high and mighty and out of reach, not one who is glad when the day's service is over and will not be seen by sinners in distress. He is a tender and compassionate High Priest, who delights to bless those who are sorrowful in spirit and who come to His door for mercy. Having passed through the days of His flesh with strong crying and tears, He is fully qualified to go with you through all the rough places of your pilgrimage and to whisper consolation in your darkest hours.

Therefore put on the whole armour of God, and stand. Let faith and repentance and perseverance be sought of Him, for faith is of God and is one of His unspeakable gifts, and perseverance is of God. All you are bidden to do is simply to be a receiver of what He freely gives. Be much in prayer and in the Word, for there the sword of the Spirit is furnished to your hand. Do not be content to merely make yourself easy, but let these truths take hold of your thinking powers and wake you up to lay hold upon the covenant mercies which are all of God and all for you in Christ.

We will pray for you, that the Lord would hide you in Himself as in a hiding place from the wind and a covert from the tempest, that He would lift you up upon the High Rock where the enemy cannot follow, and that by His compassionate High Priesthood you may find grace to help in time of need. May He who has ascended up on high appear in the presence of God for you, and keep you steadfast until the day when every high thing that exalts itself against the knowledge of God shall be cast down, and Christ alone shall be exalted.

May the Lord arise for your deliverance, and may you know the peace of one who is kept safe in the cleft of the Rock.
