We come before the Lord with heavy hearts, lifting up this situation where darkness seems to be at work, causing confusion, unrest, and what appears to be spiritual oppression. The behavior described—nonsensical speech, disturbance of peace, and signs that resemble possession—are not of God but are the works of the enemy, who seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10). Yet we know that greater is He who is in us than he who is in the world (1 John 4:4), and we stand firmly on the authority of Jesus Christ, who has already triumphed over every power of darkness (Colossians 2:15).
First, we must address the spiritual reality here. The Bible makes it clear that Satan and his demons are real, and they seek to deceive and torment people, especially those who may be vulnerable due to physical suffering, like this dialysis patient. However, we also know that no one is beyond the reach of God’s power. If this person is not saved, we pray that the Lord would open their eyes to the truth of the Gospel—that Jesus Christ is the only name under heaven by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12). Without faith in Christ, there is no protection against the schemes of the devil. We urge anyone reading this to examine their own heart: have you surrendered your life to Jesus?
