Desperate prayers needed for my ###

We have heard your desperate cry for your loved one and we are joining you in prayer before our Heavenly Father for her in this very difficult time, carrying both the heavy burden of cancer and the pain of an abusive relationship.

Our hearts ache to hear of this double suffering. We know that our God sees her affliction and is close to the brokenhearted. The Lord is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble Psalm 46:1, and He is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit Psalm 34:18. We pray for His healing touch upon her body. We believe He is able to heal, to comfort, and to sustain through every treatment and every fear. Scripture reminds us, But I will restore health to you and I will heal you of your wounds, says Yahweh Jeremiah 30:17, and that by His wounds we are healed Isaiah 53:5. We also cling to the promise Fear not, for I am with you. Don’t be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you. Yes, I will help you. Yes, I will uphold you with the right hand of my righteousness Isaiah 41:10.

We must also speak clearly about the abuse she is enduring. This is not God’s will for any relationship. God’s design for marriage is a lifelong covenant between a man and a woman built on love, honor and protection, and He calls husbands to love their wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly and gave himself up for it Ephesians 5:25 and not to be bitter against them Colossians 3:19. The Lord tests the righteous, but his soul hates the wicked and him who loves violence Psalm 11:5. Abuse in any form, physical, emotional, or verbal, is sin and is to be rebuked. Love does not harm, control, or demean. We do not encourage anyone to remain in a place of danger in the name of keeping a relationship together. Safety is vital. We urge you to help her seek godly counsel, a trusted pastor, and also practical help and protection, including medical support, counseling, and if she is in danger, help from trusted family and the proper authorities. We pray that God will open a way of escape and surround her with people who will protect, support, and speak truth to her, and that He will give her courage and wisdom to take steps toward safety.

We noticed your request did not mention the name of Jesus, and we want to gently remind you of how precious that name is. It is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father and it is only by His name that we are saved. Jesus said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me John 14:6, and there is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved Acts 4:12. If we confess with our mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in our heart that God raised Him from the dead, we will be saved Romans 10:9. We pray that both you and your loved one will know the saving and sustaining power of Jesus Christ personally, for He is our healer, our deliverer, and our refuge.

Let us pray together.

Father in heaven, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ and we lift up this precious dear one to You. You know her name, You know her body and her pain, and You see the hidden wounds of abuse. Lord, we ask for Your mercy and healing upon her as she battles cancer. Lay Your healing hand upon her, guide the hands of her doctors, strengthen her body, and fill her with Your peace that surpasses all understanding. Comfort her in fear and pain and let her feel Your presence each day. Lord, we also ask for deliverance from this abusive relationship. Break the power of violence and control over her life, protect her from further harm, and make a way for her to be safe. Surround her with godly, trustworthy people who will help her, counsel her, and defend her. Give her clarity, courage, and hope, and give those who love her wisdom to support her well without judgment. Bring conviction to the one who is causing harm, that he may repent and turn from violence. Restore what has been broken and let her know how deeply she is loved and valued by You. We ask all this in the name of Jesus Christ, our only hope and our salvation, amen.

We encourage you to keep standing in the gap for her, to keep praying and to keep pointing her to the Lord and to safe, godly help. Continue to show her love, remind her that she is not alone, and help her connect with a Bible believing church and with resources that can help protect her. We are praying with you that God will bring healing to her body and freedom, peace, and restoration to her life.

Thank you for sharing this burden with us. We are praying with you for your loved one as she faces cancer treatment while also living in an abusive situation. It is a lot to carry for both of you, and your love for her comes through clearly.

Cancer care itself brings so many stresses, from appointments and side effects to worry and fatigue, and an unsafe relationship makes it even harder to rest and heal. One of the most helpful things we can do is to help surround a person with steady, safe support. That can be practical help like meals or rides to treatment, emotional support from trusted family, friends or a faith community, and continued care from her medical team. If she is open to it, gently helping her stay connected to her doctors and to one or two safe people she trusts can make a real difference, without pressuring her to make quick decisions.

We are also praying for you as you support her. Please do not carry this alone either, and consider reaching out to a trusted pastor or counselor and to the helpline resources above for guidance on how to support her safely.

Father, we lift this precious loved one to You and ask for Your protection over her, for wisdom for her medical team, and for strength and peace for each day. Give her safe relationships and clear next steps, and give her loved one who wrote to us wisdom, endurance and comfort as they walk beside her. In Jesus name, amen.

Your request has come before us and we have carried it to the throne of grace, where there is healing to be found. We do not pass by such sorrow lightly, for bodily disease is painful and urges us to seek the Physician, and a heart wounded by cruelty is a great ill which none but the Lord can heal.

There is an abundance of healing power in Jesus Christ and His salvation. Not only is His fruit sweet and nourishing, but the leaves of the tree are for the healing of the nations, and the least thing about Christ is healing. His leaf also shall not wither. When the Sun of Righteousness rises upon His people there is healing in His wings, and pardon and healing are placed in happy conjunction. When Jesus healed the sick of the palsy He said, Son, be of good cheer, your sins are forgiven you. Pardon and healing were one.

We have prayed for your loved one in this twofold affliction. We have asked the Lord to lay His hand upon the body that is battling cancer, that if it be His will He would restrain the disease, strengthen the frame, and give wisdom to those who provide care. We have asked Him also to heal the broken heart, for He healeth the broken in heart and bindeth up their wounds. These healing leaves change the life blood and make the nature other than it was before, and the healing virtue which His grace infuses will work health and cure till body and soul are made whole.

We have not asked God to bless or to preserve what is harmful, for He does not delight in oppression or in cruelty. Rather we have asked Him to be a conduit of abundant streams of healing and a refuge in this hour of danger. We have prayed that He would provide a way of escape, give courage and clear counsel, surround your loved one with safe and godly help, and guard from further harm. If you are near, seek quickly the aid of trusted pastors, family, and those whose calling it is to protect, that wisdom and practical help may be joined to prayer.

May your loved one look to Jesus alone for salvation, for there is no other name by which we are saved, and may that look bring both forgiveness and healing from the pardoning hand. The work of our heavenly Physician is to apply the remedy, and Calvary is the place for the healing balm. He is able to heal, and He is willing to receive all who come to Him.

We will continue to pray that the Lord who took the woman sick of a fever by the hand and lifted her up will take your loved one by the hand in this sickness and distress, lift up, restore, and keep, and in His own time make the face to shine with freshness and health that comes from His healing leaves. Amen.

Heal Me Lord Jesus Spirit, Soul, And Body

Your request has been heard and we are joining you in prayer for your loved one in this very difficult time.

We pray for healing and mercy in the battle with cancer, for strength and comfort for your loved one and for you, for wisdom for doctors and caregivers, and for the peace of Christ to guard your hearts. We know that every gift of healing comes from God, and we ask Him to show His power and compassion according to His perfect will, and to sustain you both day by day.

We also pray for safety and deliverance from the abusive relationship. Abuse is wrong and contrary to the love God calls us to, a love that does not harm, insult, or degrade, but protects and honors. We do not ask God to bless or preserve what harms, but we ask Him to protect, to provide a way to safety, and to surround your loved one with wise and caring help. We pray for courage, for clarity, and for trusted people to come alongside to offer support and practical help.

If there is immediate danger, please seek safety right away and contact local emergency services. It is also good to reach out to a trusted pastor, a counselor, safe family members or friends, and the medical team caring for your loved one, so you do not carry this alone. In the United States, you can call or text 988 for support in distress, and contact the National Domestic Violence Hotline at 800-799-7233 or text START to 88788 for confidential help with safety planning. If you are elsewhere, please contact a local helpline or trusted support service.

We will continue to pray that the Lord, who is our healer and refuge, will bring healing, protection, and hope, and that He will lead your loved one into safety and into the fullness of His love through Jesus Christ. May you know His presence and guidance as you walk with your loved one through these trials, and may He give you wisdom for each next step.

Please let us know how we can continue to pray and support you.
