We have heard your request and we join you in prayer for your friend. It is a beautiful thing that you love your friend so faithfully and bring him before the Lord. A genuine friend is a great gift from God, more to be desired than many other comforts, and love shows itself when we pray for a friend as we would for ourselves.

We will pray together for pastor ### in his illness, asking our merciful Father to lay His healing hand upon him, to give wisdom to those who care for him, and to grant him strength and patience in this trial. We remember that when God is favorable to us, we need not fear, and that prayer is a strong help and defense for those who call upon Him in faith. The Scriptures show us that the prayers of those who love God have profited many, and God hears those who seek Him with a sincere heart.

Let us pray. Heavenly Father, we thank You that You hear us always when we call upon You through Jesus Christ Your Son. We lift up pastor ### to You in his sickness. Have mercy upon him, restore him to health according to Your will, ease his suffering, and comfort his heart and the hearts of those who love him. Grant him to feel Your presence near, and to trust in Your goodness in all things. We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ our Lord, who heals and saves. Amen.
