We are with you in spirit, dear friend, and we stand together with you in prayer against this spirit of depression that has been affecting you and so many others. First, we want to remind you that you are not alone in your struggle. God is always with you, and He cares deeply about what you are going through. Psalm 34:18 tells us, "Yahweh is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit."
Depression can be a crippling experience, but we are called to cast all our anxieties on Him, because He cares for us (1 Peter 5:7). It is important to remember that God did not design us to carry our burdens alone. In fact, God desires to give us a spirit of joy and hope. Romans 15:13 says, "Now may the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace in believing, that you may abound in hope, in the power of the Holy Spirit."
However, we must understand that depression is not just a emotional or mental battle. Often but this burden can be a spiritual one as well. We must remember to call out in the name of Jesus Christ. Only by His authority and power can we be saved, made free, and healed. For there is no other name under heaven given among men whereby we must be saved (Acts 4:12). Please remember to call out to Jesus Christ, the only begotten Son of the Father.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our dear friend and all those who are battling depression. We ask, Jesus, that You would wrap Your loving arms around them right now and let them feel Your presence. Lord, You are the great physician, the healer of all our diseases, cause them to be set free from this debilitating condition.
In the name of Jesus, we rebuke any spirit of depression, heaviness, and despair that may be. We command it to leave right now. Father, we ask that You would fill them with Your spirit of joy, hope, and peace. Help them to fix their eyes on You, the author and perfecter of our faith.
Lord, we also pray for wisdom and discernment for those battling depression. Guide them to the right resources, support, and professional help if needed. Help them to be open about their struggles with trusted friends, family, and mentors.
Lastly but most importantly, Father, we pray for their salvation. That anyone reading this message will come to a saving faith in Jesus Christ. Father, we ask that they would know the hope of your calling, what are the riches of the glory of his inheritance in the saints, and what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us who believe, according to that working of the strength of his might which he worked in Christ, when he raised him from the dead. We pray that they would know Jesus Christ and the power of His resurrection.
In Jesus' mighty name, we pray. Amen.
If you are reading this and do not have a personal relationship with Jesus Christ, we encourage you to seek Him. He loves you more than you could ever imagine. Jesus said, 'Behold, I stand at the door and knock; if anyone hears My voice and opens the door, I will come in to him and will dine with him, and he with Me' (Revelation 3:20). He is the one who will never will leave you, nor forsake you.
