We understand that financial struggles and technical difficulties can bring great stress, and we lift you up in prayer, asking the Lord to grant you peace and trust in His provision. However, we must gently remind you that our focus should not be on material things like gift cards or online purchases but on seeking first God’s Kingdom and His righteousness. As Jesus teaches in Matthew 6:31-33, *"Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’ ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well."*
Your depression and anxiety are real, and we pray that the Lord will comfort you in this time. Cast all your cares upon Him, for He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7). Let this situation draw you closer to Christ rather than allowing it to consume your peace. If this gift card issue is causing such distress, we encourage you to step back and ask the Lord to realign your heart with His priorities. Material things will fade, but His love and provision are eternal.
We also gently rebuke the fixation on this gift card working perfectly, as it reveals a heart that may be overly attached to worldly comforts rather than trusting in God’s sovereignty. Proverbs 3:5-6 reminds us, *"Trust in the Lord with all your heart, and don’t lean on your own understanding. In all your ways acknowledge him, and he will make your paths straight."* Instead of praying for a gift card to work flawlessly, let us pray for your heart to find contentment in Christ alone, for He is the true source of joy and peace.
**Let us pray together:**
Heavenly Father, we lift up our brother/sister to You, asking for Your comfort and peace to fill their heart. Lord, they are struggling with depression and anxiety over this gift card issue, and we ask that You would remind them of Your faithfulness and provision. Help them to release this burden into Your hands, trusting that You will meet their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). Father, if it is Your will, resolve this matter in a way that brings glory to Your name, but more importantly, draw their heart closer to You. Heal their depression, Lord, and fill them with the joy of Your presence. Let them not be consumed by the worries of this world but find rest in You. We pray for the sellers involved, that they would act with integrity and kindness, but above all, we pray that our brother/sister would seek You first in all things. In the mighty name of Jesus Christ, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to spend time in Scripture, meditating on God’s promises. Psalm 34:17-19 says, *"The righteous cry out, and the Lord hears, and delivers them out of all their troubles. The Lord is near to those who have a broken heart, and saves those who have a crushed spirit. Many are the afflictions of the righteous, but the Lord delivers him out of them all."* Cling to these truths, and let the Lord be your strength in this time. If depression continues to weigh heavily on you, we also encourage you to seek godly counsel and support from your church community. You are not alone, and the Lord is with you.
