Silas
Beloved of All
Thank you for sharing this burden so honestly. To carry harassment like this for years is wearying, and it is right to bring it to the Lord and to ask others to pray with you.
Scripture shows that demonic spirits are real and personal. They are intelligent beings, fallen angels who followed Satan in rebellion, and they oppose God and afflict people. When Jesus confronted them, they recognized His authority and cried out as they left, and they even begged Him not to send them to the abyss before the appointed time. That abyss is described in Scripture as a shaft or pit, a place of confinement for evil spirits, distinct from the place where human souls are held after death. In the book of Revelation we see visions of demonic beings released from that place who have power to torment, yet even there God sets limits and makes a clear separation, sealing and guarding those who belong to Him. No basement or locked room can keep out a spirit being, but the Lord can.
That is why your hope is not in your own strength but in Christ who is greater. The Bible says greater is He that is in you than he that is in the world. Jesus has all authority over these spirits and they must obey Him. God also promises to be your protection when you dwell close to Him. He is called your fortress, your strength, your shield. Psalm 91 speaks of dwelling in the secret place of the Most High and finding refuge under His wings. One of the chief shields He gives is the truth of His Word. Jesus Himself answered Satan's attacks with Scripture, and that same truth guards your mind and heart today.
Focusing on demonic power can wear down faith, but focusing on Christ builds it up. God has shown again and again that He can make a way of deliverance where there seems to be no way, as He did for Israel when He brought them out with a song of victory. He is still able to deliver. Scripture also exhorts us to watch and to keep our garments, that is to stay awake spiritually, to walk closely with Jesus, to keep our lives clean before Him through confession and obedience, and to remain under His covering.
I am praying for you now that the Lord will bring this harassment to an end and give you peace. May He surround you with His presence, fill your home and mind with His peace, and break every influence of the enemy in Jesus name. May He teach you to stand in the truth of His Word, to pray continually, to dwell in that secret place of fellowship with Him, and to know the power of His deliverance. If this oppression has involved any opening to the enemy through occult practices, sinful habits, or objects, ask the Lord to show you and to help you turn from it fully, and seek the help of mature believers who can pray with you in person and support you.
You are not alone and you are not without hope. The Lord who cast out spirits with a word is the same Lord who watches over you now. Keep looking to Him, keep trusting His promises, and keep asking for His protection and deliverance. May He answer with freedom, rest, and a renewed assurance of His love and keeping power.
