We come before the Lord with you in this time of deep spiritual concern, lifting you up in prayer and standing firmly on the truth of God’s Word. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but we know that "greater is he who is in you than he who is in the world" (1 John 4:4). The behavior you describe—monitoring, harassment, and what feels like orchestrated spiritual attack—is not of God but is the work of darkness. However, we must remember that our battle is not against flesh and blood but against principalities, powers, and spiritual forces of wickedness in heavenly places (Ephesians 6:12). The Lord has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and sound mind (2 Timothy 1:7), and we must stand in that authority.
First, we urge you to examine your heart and life to ensure there is no unconfessed sin or openness to the occult, even unintentionally. The Bible warns us not to give the devil a foothold (Ephesians 4:27). Have you ever dabbled in things like horoscopes, tarot, "harmless" spiritual practices, or even entertainment that glorifies darkness? If so, repent and renounce these things immediately, for they can invite demonic influence. If your conscience is clear, then stand firm in the knowledge that Christ has already disarmed the powers and authorities and made a public spectacle of them (Colossians 2:15). You are covered by the blood of Jesus, and no weapon formed against you shall prosper (Isaiah 54:17).
The fear you feel is real, but it is not from God. Perfect love casts out fear (1 John 4:18), and that love is found in Jesus Christ. If you have not already, we strongly encourage you to ensure that your faith is placed solely in Him for salvation. There is no other name under heaven by which we must be saved (Acts 4:12), and it is only through Jesus that we have access to the Father (John 14:6). If you have not surrendered your life to Christ, do so now—confess with your mouth that Jesus is Lord and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, and you will be saved (Romans 10:9). Without this foundation, spiritual warfare can feel overwhelming, but in Christ, you are more than a conqueror (Romans 8:37).
As for the person you encountered in the grocery store, we must be cautious not to attribute every strange or unsettling experience to witchcraft or demonic activity, as this can lead to paranoia. However, if you sense a spiritual darkness at work, rebuking it in the name of Jesus is both appropriate and powerful. Jesus has given us authority to trample on serpents and scorpions and over all the power of the enemy (Luke 10:19). Speak aloud if necessary: *"In the name of Jesus Christ, I command every demonic assignment against me to be broken and rendered powerless. I rebuke every spirit of fear, harassment, and witchcraft, and I declare that no weapon formed against me shall prosper. I am covered by the blood of Jesus, and I stand in His victory."*
We also encourage you to surround yourself with a community of believers who can pray with you and for you. Isolation can make spiritual attacks feel more intense. The Bible tells us that where two or three are gathered in Jesus’ name, He is there in the midst of them (Matthew 18:20). If you do not have a church home, we urge you to find one where the Word of God is preached boldly and where you can receive prayer and support.
Lastly, fill your mind and heart with Scripture. Memorize verses that declare God’s protection and authority over your life, such as Psalm 91, Psalm 23, and Psalm 27. The Word of God is a sword of the Spirit (Ephesians 6:17), and it is mighty against the enemy’s schemes. Spend time in worship as well, for worship shifts the atmosphere and invites the presence of God, which the enemy cannot stand.
Let us pray for you now:
Heavenly Father, we come before You on behalf of Your child who is experiencing spiritual attack and harassment. Lord, we ask that You expose every hidden work of darkness and render the enemy powerless. We plead the blood of Jesus over their life, their home, their mind, and their spirit. Father, fill them with Your peace that surpasses all understanding and guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7). Give them discernment to recognize the enemy’s tactics and wisdom to stand firm in Your truth.
We break every curse, every spell, and every demonic assignment sent against them in the mighty name of Jesus. We declare that no weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment they shall condemn (Isaiah 54:17). Lord, surround them with Your angels, encamped around them to deliver them (Psalm 34:7). Let them walk in the authority You have given them as a child of God, unshaken by fear or intimidation.
If there is any area of their life that has given the enemy legal ground, reveal it to them, Lord, and give them the courage to repent and turn away from it. Strengthen their faith and remind them that they are seated with Christ in heavenly places (Ephesians 2:6), far above every principality and power.
We ask for divine protection over their comings and goings, their thoughts, and their emotions. Let them experience Your presence in a tangible way, knowing that You are their refuge and fortress (Psalm 91:2). In the name of Jesus, we command every spirit of fear, oppression, and harassment to flee and never return. We declare freedom, peace, and victory over their life.
Thank You, Father, for Your faithfulness. Thank You that You never leave us nor forsake us (Hebrews 13:5). We trust in Your power and Your love. In the mighty and holy name of Jesus, we pray. Amen.
Stand firm, dear one. The Lord is with you, and He will never allow the enemy to have the final say. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). If you feel led, share more details so we can pray more specifically for you. You are not alone in this fight.
