We hear the heaviness in your words and the spiritual battle you are enduring, and we stand with you in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, who has already overcome the powers of darkness. Your struggle is not unseen by our Heavenly Father, and we want to remind you that no weapon formed against you shall prosper, for this is the heritage of the servants of the Lord (Isaiah 54:17). The enemy may rage, but his time is short, and his power is limited by the authority of Christ, who has disarmed the principalities and powers and made a public spectacle of them, triumphing over them through the cross (Colossians 2:15).
First, we must address something critical: you mentioned that these attacks feel like "demonic possession/oppression." As children of God, born again through faith in Jesus Christ, we are indwelled by the Holy Spirit, and true possession by demons is not possible for believers. However, oppression, harassment, and spiritual attacks are very real for those who walk in faith. The enemy seeks to steal, kill, and destroy (John 10:10), but Jesus came that we might have life abundantly. If you have not already, we urge you to examine your heart and ensure you have surrendered your life fully to Christ. There is no greater protection than abiding in Him. If you have not confessed Jesus as Lord and believed in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, we implore you to do so now, for "whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved" (Romans 10:9-13). It is only through the name of Jesus that we have authority over the enemy and access to the Father.
The fact that your enemies seem to prosper while you suffer is a difficult reality many righteous people have faced. The Psalmist Asaph struggled with this very issue in Psalm 73, where he saw the wicked flourishing while the righteous suffered. But when he entered the sanctuary of God, he understood their end (Psalm 73:17). Their prosperity is temporary, and their judgment is sure. Do not be envious of evildoers or troubled by those who work unrighteousness, for they shall soon be cut down like the grass (Psalm 37:1-2). The Lord sees their wickedness, and He will repay. Vengeance belongs to Him, and He will act in His perfect timing (Romans 12:19).
It is also important to recognize that spiritual battles are not fought in the flesh but in the spirit. Your enemies may be tools of the devil, but the real battle is against "the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:12). This is why we must put on the whole armor of God—truth, righteousness, the gospel of peace, faith, salvation, and the Word of God—to stand firm against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:10-18). Prayer, fasting, and immersing yourself in Scripture are your greatest weapons. Jesus Himself said, "This kind does not go out except by prayer and fasting" (Matthew 17:21).
We also want to encourage you to examine your life for any open doors that may give the enemy a foothold. Are there unconfessed sins, bitterness, unforgiveness, or involvement in occult practices (even seemingly harmless ones)? Repentance and renouncing any ties to darkness are essential. As it is written, "Submit yourselves therefore to God. Resist the devil, and he will flee from you" (James 4:7). Submission to God means turning away from sin and walking in obedience to His Word. If there are areas in your life that do not align with Scripture, now is the time to surrender them to the Lord.
Lastly, we want to remind you that God is your defender, and He will never leave you nor forsake you (Deuteronomy 31:6). Even when it feels like the enemy is winning, God is working all things together for your good (Romans 8:28). Your brief moments of relief are a testament to His power and a foretaste of the complete victory that is coming. The enemy scrambles because he knows his time is short, and he fears the power of God in your life. Do not fear his retaliation, for "if God is for us, who can be against us?" (Romans 8:31).
Let us pray together for you:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother/sister who is enduring fierce spiritual attacks. Lord, You are a God of justice, and You see the wickedness of those who seek to harm Your child. We ask that You expose every hidden work of darkness and bring to light the deeds done in secret. Father, we rebuke every demonic assignment against this beloved one in the name of Jesus. Every curse, every hex, every spell, and every scheme of the enemy, we break and nullify by the blood of Jesus. No weapon formed against them shall prosper, and every tongue that rises against them in judgment, You shall condemn.
Lord, we ask that You fill them with Your Holy Spirit, that they may walk in the authority You have given them as Your child. Strengthen them in their inner being, that they may stand firm against the schemes of the devil. Give them discernment to recognize the enemy’s tactics and wisdom to close every door that gives the devil a foothold. Father, if there is any area of their life that is not surrendered to You, reveal it to them now. Lead them to repentance and a deeper walk with You.
We declare that every plan of the enemy to harm them is turned back upon his own head. Let their enemies be confounded and put to shame (Psalm 70:2). Let those who seek their harm be caught in their own snares (Psalm 141:10). Father, we ask that You surround them with Your angels, encamping around them to deliver them (Psalm 34:7). Let Your peace, which surpasses all understanding, guard their heart and mind in Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:7).
Lord, we thank You that You are their shield and their exceedingly great reward (Genesis 15:1). We thank You that no evil shall befall them, nor shall any plague come near their dwelling (Psalm 91:10). We declare that they are more than a conqueror through Christ who loves them (Romans 8:37). Father, let them experience Your presence in a mighty way, that they may know beyond a shadow of a doubt that You are with them and that You will never leave them nor forsake them.
We pray all these things in the powerful and matchless name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Stand firm, beloved. The battle is the Lord’s, and He has already won the victory. Keep your eyes fixed on Jesus, the author and finisher of your faith (Hebrews 12:2). Surround yourself with fellow believers who can pray with you and encourage you in the faith. Do not isolate yourself, for the enemy seeks to devour those who are alone (1 Peter 5:8). We are standing with you in prayer, and we believe that God is going to turn this situation around for your good and His glory. Trust in Him, and do not lose heart. Your breakthrough is coming!
