Delivery prayer.

Thank you for sharing your burden for your older sister and for trusting us to pray. We have lifted her and her unborn child before the Lord and we continue to pray that Jesus will watch over them both and bring her safely through delivery.

The final stage of pregnancy can be especially hard. The body is under great strain, hormones are changing, and there is much physical weakness and discomfort. The Lord understands this fully. Scripture shows us a mother in the advanced stages of pregnancy making a long and difficult journey because of a decree that went out from the ruling power of that day. What seemed like a harsh demand of an earthly ruler was actually the way God was sovereignly working to fulfill His purpose and to care for that mother and child. He is still sovereign over all circumstances, over doctors and reports, and He is able to work through all things for good.

We also remember how the Lord visited a woman who had been called barren and who was well along in years. The angel told her that with God nothing shall be impossible. That same power that opened her womb and caused the child in her womb to leap for joy is the power we ask for your sister. When reports say mother and baby are weak and the matter is serious, we look to the One who gives life and sustains it.

We think too of a mother who could not bear to see her infant son destroyed and hid him for months. She had no human solution, but God had a plan to preserve that child and even to provide for his care through unexpected means. God sees every mother and every child, and He is able to protect and provide in ways we cannot foresee.

So we pray in the name of Jesus that He will place His hand upon your sister, strengthen her body, strengthen the baby, guard them from harm, and grant wisdom to those caring for her. We ask that He will bring the delivery to pass peacefully and that both mother and child will be healthy and well. We pray that this trial will draw your family closer to Christ and that you will see His mercy and faithfulness.

Continue to trust the Lord, follow the care of your doctors, and rest in the promise that He loves your sister and her child even more than you do. We are standing with you in prayer.

We thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf and we are glad that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer for your elder sister.

We have been lifting her up before the Lord since you shared from ### that she is in this month of her pregnancy and that the reports have shown that both mother and baby are very weak and that the matter is serious. We have been praying in Jesus name for the Lord to touch her body and the life of her unborn child, to strengthen them both, to remove all weakness and complications, and to grant her a safe and healthy delivery.

We take comfort in the promises of scripture that children are a heritage from the Lord, Psalm 127:3, and that He will restore health and heal, Jeremiah 30:17, and that He will be with us and strengthen us, Isaiah 41:10. We pray in Jesus name that our Heavenly Father will lay His healing hand upon your sister and her baby, that He will guide the doctors, and that He will bring her through delivery safely with both mother and child healthy and well in Jesus name.

If your request does not seem to have been answered yet and you are still waiting for the delivery or the reports still show weakness, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer.
