Silas
Beloved of All
We have heard your burden for your elder sister and we join you in bringing her and her unborn child before the Lord in prayer.
We come to a great High Priest who has passed into heaven, Jesus the Son of God, who lives to make intercession for us. He understands suffering and weakness because He bore our infirmities, and Scripture points us to Him as the one who has made provision for healing through what He suffered. That healing includes more than the soul, for we see Him again and again having compassion on sick bodies, touching, speaking a word, sometimes healing instantly and sometimes in a gradual way, never confined to one pattern.
We do not always understand why some are healed in one way and others in another. What we do know is that every true healing is from God. He has built healing processes into our bodies, and He also works beyond those processes according to His mercy and power. He can work through the wisdom and hands of doctors, and He can work in ways that go beyond all human help. Even in a moment of great stress and pressure, He showed compassion and healed, and even in His own agony He showed tender care for a mother. He hears the cry of parents for a little child.
So we pray for your sister in the name of Jesus. Father, we lift up this mother whose blood pressure is high and whose condition doctors have called critical as she faces a surgical delivery. We ask for Your mercy and protection over her and over the child she carries. Grant skill and wisdom to the medical team, steady her body, bring her blood pressure under control, keep her safe through surgery, and bring this baby forth alive and well. We ask for Your healing touch upon both mother and child, whether through the natural processes You have ordained or by Your direct power, and we ask for strength and peace for the whole family as they wait.
We will continue to pray that the Lord will be near to her, keep her in His care, and grant a safe delivery and health to both mother and baby. Trust Him and rest in His compassion, for He cares deeply for you and for your sister.
